We love Seth's! We drive over from Winnsboro and always have great food and excellent service. Crabs are my absolute favorite.

My buddy and I flew in yesterday to have lunch here. Cool little spot up on a hilltop from the main road. The ambiance was really cool. It was small but plenty of tables how they had it set up. It was a family owned business. The nicest people work here. The food was very good. We had gumbo, burger & sweet potato fries and a really large seafood combo plate (His size). It was really big. Definitely could have gotten the "Her" size dish. The food tasted delicious and on point! We'll come back again to have lunch. read more

Came to visit friends who recently moved to the area, and the food did not disappoint! I loved the patio with the big tree outside, but since it was still pretty warm, we opted to eat inside. Service was spot on--not too fast, not too slow--just the right pace to let us enjoy catching up with friends. I ordered the fried fish dinner, and wow... the portions are huge! I ended up taking half home. Everything is made from scratch, and they also offer daily specials, which is a big plus. Definitely one to add to the Love List! Note: The restaurant is in a metal building, so my cell service didn't work inside. Also, no alcohol (and it didn't seem like BYOB), in case that's something you're looking for. read more

The dogs with crawfish tails is so so good. The pork chops are excellent also. You have to give it all a try. It is some of the best food you will get around the lake fork area if you like Cajun food. The service is great too but be prepared to wait for awhile if they are really busy but it's worth the wait. read more

Oh my goodness, what an incredible place in Quitman! Chef Seth has Cajuin flavors that make you think you are in New Orleans - but even better! Had a cup of gumbo that had so many different flavors and meats in it it was incredible! Then I had the pork tenderloin which was phenomenal with two sides. The flavor of the pork was some of the best I've ever had in my entire life in fact, I couldn't eat everything and will be eating the pork for breakfast in the morning in my hotel. First and foremost service is over the top. You don't have one server you have them all!! You need something, someone is on top of it. Don't get angry if you get asked from different people because it will come. It's better to be asked a couple of times than for you to ask a couple of times and not receive it. All the servers were friendly and ready to talk and laugh and answer any questions you have. Now I am not too crazy with the decor. It's not really handicap friendly. You walk in through a couple of barn type doors into the patio area. It's rough dirt and picnic tables. But it wasn't hot. It was comfortable if you wanted to sit there. Your hostess will take you to a table inside that is kinda cramped. But as I mentioned service is quick. I heard about the Cobb salad so I decided I would try that. Half size! Full size two people could eat. It came with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped tomatoes, real bacon, blue cheese crumbles, hard boiled eggs, mixed greens. And your choice of dressing. Hubs had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. Our friend had the pork chops with green beans, and another side. The little one had the mini corn dogs and fries. Salad not one complaint!! It was awesome. The pulled pork I understand was good but not the best, the pork chops got the double thumbs up and a couple of mmm, mmm, that's good!! Mini corn dogs were mini corn dogs. She doesn't like fries so she would not eat them. I had a few and they were good and crispy. Dessert was a whiskey cake and bread pudding. Both were delicious!!! This place is a mom-and-pop foodie's dream discovery. Looking more like a shack than a restaurant, one can't help but be impressed by the number of vehicles in the parking lot way before noon. A sliding front door with handles made of electric pole glass insulators welcomes you to a lean-to shed where you can dine while roasting or freezing, depending on the weather. Or, you can continue to the small dining room that was way too cold during our summer visit. The waitstaff were friendly and eager to serve. Seth's menu was quite diverse, including a blueberry salad that sounded scrumptious. Since we were near a large lake, we opted for fried catfish and fried shrimp, served with french fries or onion rings. Both entrees were ridiculously fresh but, alas, the catfish was battered instead of using the customary cornmeal dredge. Yes, friends--battered fried catfish right here in east Texas! Have they no shame ? The shrimp and home-cut fries were flawless, but the homemade onion rings were problematic. Although they were delicious, with big, meaty onions used, their enormous size made them difficult to eat. I'm a fan of smaller rings with a lacy batter; these tended to shed their coating too easily. While the presentation was indeed stunning, it seemed this was more important than anything else. These things may not be an issue for most diners, but I am admittedly picky. This should not detract from the overall positive experience, so much so that a return visit will be necessary to try other offerings. read more

We had read reviews of this before going....but this rustic diner didn't fit with what we had anticipated. It reminds me, now, of the sort of restaurants popular among fishing towns. After adjusting our preconceived notions and feeling so welcome by the staff... we ordered. The menus is quite extensive. We started with the fried pickles- very delicious! -and fried crab balls-also yummy. And, then, we order the seafood sampler plate...what we would do different? Still get the sampler.. but get some of the pieces grilled.. all of it breaded and fried made for a heavy dish. There's no alcohol but I did see a customer come in with his own bottle of wine, so it's allowed: not sure if there's a corking fee . We will definitely return. Service was fast and friendly. It was clean. The front half is a covered, screened in 'patio' with wooden picnic tables, the second part was air conditioned with a lot of tables but we didn't feel crowded. read more

My hubby and I frequently travel to Yantis to the Neon Moon Bar and Grill to go see live bands, some of the best concerts we've been to. This place was highly rated and did not disappoint. Some of the best food we've eaten (and I have to tell you we are foodies so that means a lot). The portions are huge. The customer service was amazing. 2 or 3 people approached us to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend if you are near, this place is a must visit. And their prices are more than reasonable, we would usually spend $60-$100 for a nice night out but our bill came up to a little over $40. read more

Visiting area and saw local ratings so I dropped in. It's a local hangout with shed like building off the road. Walk in and you pick a table inside the dirt floor sunarea enclosure or inside the rustic laid-back setting. I wasn't that hungry and chose spicy fried shrooms and small cup of gumbo. The service was great and friendly but I didn't care for the food much. I didn't realize the mushrooms was breaded and couldn't taste the mushrooms so I only ate a few bites. I ate the gumbo which was solid but it tasted more like beef stew without the vegetables. Maybe I picked the wrong items. read more

Very often it's far too cold to eat indoors-- especially during the winter. I brought it up once (nicely) to the waitress in the past-- now anytime I walk in i hear about it (that i said its too cold indoors). Today, Im not in the door good and was told "Seth said cool it down that he pays the bills here ... you should sit outside if you think its too cold" I replied "well, thats exactly why I don't come around often" Apparently, it's a common complaint because I was sitting outside attempting to stay at a decent temperature... And a couple walked up... And a different waitress said if you want to eat inside it's gonna be really cold... And they said we're OK with it being cold while we eat. I recommended Seths to a couple from up north... But I warned them that it might be cold inside especially if you go during the winter... They went the next week (it was February).... I asked how did you like it they said it was so cold inside that they went outside on the patio to sit by the large patio warmers I used to visit at least TWICE a week. Now, about once every 4 or 6 months. I'm not mad about anything or mad with anyone-- I just dont go very often anymore. I like the food a lot still. read more

Wow who would've thought you could have the best crab and shrimp that you've ever had been so far away from the ocean. Everything about our meal was fantastic my husband's Étouffée was fabulous. In Quitman, Texas, there are some of the best steaks we've ever had, in a very small, very humble and unassuming trailer-sized restaurant. A friend recommended that we try Seth's Lake Fork Creek restaurant. I thought I would check Yelp for reviews first. After the first 70 5-star reviews, we thought we would give it a try. Simple, honest, friendly, and the steak and shrimp dinners from heaven! We ALWAYS go to Seth's when we are in Texas fishing. Incredible fish tacos, and the richest, most decadent bread pudding with white chocolate and caramel sauce! Here at home in Edmond, hubby and I will be trying to decide where to go for dinner, and he looks over to me and says, "It's only 4 1/2 hours to Seth's....."!!!!!! Seth's is the real deal when it comes to dive-y fried fish and seafood! We waited outside under an awning until a table cleared and it was certainly worth the wait. I recommend the fried catfish. After a long day on the water, with our egos bruised, we were craving a nice dinner at Seths. I mean, don't get me wrong, we caught some nice fish, but it was tough We had about a twenty minute wait as it happened to be crawfish night and we had a group of five of us. The good new is that at least it was hot and humid while we waited. Once we were seated we all were wanting something fried and ordered up the fried pickles, fried gator and fried jalapeños...all excellent. And also as a started, we went with 4lbs of craw which between five people, is usually just enough to piss you off and leave you wanting more. We all ordered our entrees and I went with the shrimp Po'boy. It was really good. Lots of flavor and a nice soft roll. Wasn't paying attention to what the others ordered as I was concentrating on my own gluttony. The only reason for the four instead of five is that the craw really had no flavor.
