The Corner Grub is downtown in a very busy location. We ran by it the first time because the sign is not noticeable until you get out and go inside. The large windows were open and it was pleasant inside. We ate around 1. Our waitress came fairly soon and was attentive. We decided on the strawberry salad with chicken which was extremely good.(The best salad I've ever had.) It came with raspberry vinaigrette.The soft drinks are served in very large glasses which was nice. The rolls and sweet butter delicious. I ordered an Ahi tuna steak. It came out tough and gristly. I had to spit out multiple bites and ultimately decided to stop eating it. I've ordered this previously at this restaurant and had a far different experience. I brought it to my servers attention and she brought the plate back to the kitchen, speaking with her manager. Picked up a to-go order and it exceeded my expectations. I got the hamburger steak with two sides and added a salad bar for an additional four dollars. The hamburger steak was delicious. I got mashed potatoes and green beans as my side. The gravy was on point. The green beans were also very good and had a little chunks of garlic. Each item was wrapped separately in foil and packaged perfectly to go. The salad bar was also nice with a lot of different options. customer service was also amazing. Not sure what the fuss is about this place as the service is lacking. Was greeted at the bar for lunch on a busy Thursday. Ordered a patty melt with fries and it took over 35 minutes for my order. When I inquired, the waitress, who was very nice, said we had a big group on the patio so the kitchen got backed up? Well, it would've been nice to have known "when I ordered" that it would take a little longer than normal since the patio was so busy. I understand this is a favorite place in SS for locals to gather, but I suggest you communicate to your patrons when you're busy that the orders could take longer than normal so you're not constantly looking at your watch or flagging them down on when you're gonna receive it. Our first time to try this place. We have attempted quite a few times in the past but it's always packed. Finally today, we were able to get seated right away inside. We were approached by this young server named Presley. For someone who just started a week ago, she was very good. She had the charisma and the smiling face that would make you feel welcome! What caught my eyes was their salad bar and their cake refrigerated stand as you enter the restaurant. My wife and I love salad especially when the ingredients are fresh and there's a lot of choices. I ordered ribeye steak, a salad and Luz just ordered salad. They give you the best dinner rolls, warm and soft! Their cinnamon butter was the perfect spread for them. We asked for a second serving of the rolls and Presley gladly indulged us. I'd like to mention Christina who delivered my steak. She was very pleasant and asked if we needed anything else , with a smile! My steak was perfectly cooked, I asked for a medium well 10 oz. Ribeye. I also requested for a brown gravy on the side. We ordered a slice of red velvet cake which we took home because we were so full with the salad and half my steak. Oopppsss and the rolls Price point? Relatively higher than others in the area but justified if I must say. Food was good, servers give great service , ambience is pleasing to the eyes and the place is clean! The toilet was very clean. Our family was camping at Cooper State park over the weekend and we decided to venture into town to look around and have dinner. Corner Grub House was great! The atmosphere was relaxed and the weather was perfect for outdoor seating. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The chicken fried steak was sooooo good! I know people say that it's hard to screw up CFS, but it's really not. It was well seasoned and the breading was crispy, not soggy at all. Mashed potatoes and white gravy were yummy and the green beans cooked al dente with a ton of garlic were fantastic! One of my sons also reports that the patty melt was good and he would order it again. Take some time to walk through Sulphur Springs. It's a charming town and it looks like they have a lot to offer. Don't even put the sauce on them they are absolutely fantastic just as these onion rings were the best. What else did we have? Blue Hawaiian was good, my wife had something I didn't really recognize, both were good. We asked for a patty melt medium rare but they don't do that and it doesn't even matter it was great! Fries were good and the tater tots were better. We also had the coleslaw, which was good. The rolls were great with the special butter, not sure what they put in the butter but it is really great! I had the full rack barbecue ribs, which were good but we thought we would take them home and reheat. They were a bit above average but I prefer other ribs than this place. We also got the water with lemon. Red velvet cake with a thick icing. Wasn't exactly red velvet, so went next door to The Magic Scoop General Store! Great ice cream! Great place to get ONION RINGS! My brother fell in love with their ranch. i couldn't tell you if it was any different from any other place but he opening spoke and very loudly so, about stealing the bottle of ranch on the table. when we were done with our meal our waitress came over and scooped the ranch up and handed us the check. everyone got buffalo chicken nuggets which were lacking in the flavor department, needed some more spice heat or some more citrus something. the breading was good... and the fries were awful :) they were somehow hot and soggy, a very rare combination. the outside dining was wonderful in september.. its in a lovely spot of town. read more

We stopped for lunch on Memorial Day. They only had 2 servers working and it was busy. But you would never know from the quality of service we received. Our server was friendly and helpful. Our food arrived quick and it was really good. And their patio is dog friendly which is always a plus. We're just passing through the area on our travels and found this place on Yelp. We ordered delivery to our hotel. I ordered the grilled shrimp, which comes with a choice of two sides. The steamed broccoli was good and the fried okra was typical battered Texas style. The shrimp (6 piece) was lightly seasoned, perfectly grilled, and delicious, and came with an option of cocktail sauce. The service was excellent, from the phone order to the delivery at our door about a half hour later, during the dinner rush hour. Kudos to this crew. The blackened fish was flakey and soft, the sweet potato had the perfect amount of sweetness with the best taste. The club was huge and had an amazing flavor.
