Our HOA required very stringent paperwork, insurance, etc from the contractor. After going through the nightmare of several other contractors -- one who promised they met the requirements but ended up not doing so, one who just decided midway through that they didn't want the job anymore, and one who did not send in any requested paperwork days before the HOA deadline, we made a call to Alvarez Flooring who LITERALLY SAVED THE DAY. When I explain the project to Steve, he had the paperwork sent within the day insurance was available, the contract signed, and invoice sent - this was all within 48 hours of our first conversation on the phone . He and Beatriz maintained incredible communication throughout the entire process. He was available to install the flooring the moment that we were allowed to, and he sent photo updates as the flooring was being installed. One example of his incredible integrity is that I had purchased a specific underlayment to put under the flooring, but for some reason the manufacture wants you to install it upside down from the usual configuration. When I noticed this and notified Steve, he verified and owned up to the issue and redid the underlayment completely, making sure that the job is done right. Our HOA required plastic covering of the entire hallway and elevator. -- Steve and Beatriz followed this rule, and made sure that we would not be liable from the HOA for making the common area dirty. We have worked with many contractors in the past for various remodel jobs, including multiple flooring jobs. I have never met anybody who is as communicative , honest, punctual, responsible, and just genuinely kind as Steve and Beatriz . They have won a lifelong fan. And if anybody I know ever needs flooring redone, I am referring them to Alvarez Flooring.

I am so happy to have found Brian. I was able to take a few pictures and he had me measure the square feet of the area/room that needed stretching. (The length and width of the entire room, multiply together to get the square feet. Brian got back to me quickly with a fair quote. Based on scheduling, we agreed on Friday morning from 830-9am. He was prompt and polite and showed up on time. I asked him to walk through the areas that needed stretching to make sure the agreed upon quote was still accurate. He got his tools and put booties on his shoes and began to work promptly. Now I know why he had me measure the entire square feet because the "ENTIRE" area needs stretched and not just the part with the bump. Brian is personable and I was able to able to find out that he has been doing carpet since he was 18 years old. He has over 40 years of experience! I was really impressed that he had the tools and knowledge on how to approach each room. I was able to get all the clutter and small stuff off the floor the night before. With his tools, he was able to stretch the carpet without moving too much. Each time I hire anyone to work on my house, I vet their past jobs and see if the customer is happy with the work and to see if it's a professional person devoted to the craft or someone with tools that watched some online videos. I show up early because I wanted to make sure I was on time (mind you I live 50 miles away now). 20 minutes had passed and no one called me. So I called them and asked what their ETA was and they said that they'd call their worker and see. I had gotten a call back 10 minutes later telling me that they'd gotten confused and thought it was for Saturday, even though clearly in our messages he said he'd see me there on Friday. At that point I was upset and told him that this just needed to be done. We agreed that he'd come the next day at 7 am and prove me a $40 discount due to the troubles. Fast forward I show up at 6:15 am after driving an hour to beat traffic and they text me at 6:30 that they won't be there. As you can imagine I was upset and told them that this isn't the way you run a business. For all the people that are thinking about using this company. DON'T do it.
