Turns out most of the things in my list is fine. They gave me quotes, set expectations and all that. There were no upsell of some sorts. There are around 8-10 arcade cabinets and pinball machines lining the walls, all free to play, as well as retro consoles like an NES and Sega Dreamcast built into back hatch of a classic car. If you are just looking to relax, or get work done, there are couches, easy chairs, as well as a table with comfortable stools and chairs for working. Maybe best of all.. Free snacks. There was a basket of various chip and cookies bags, and a mini fridge of drinks. While all of that is NOT the main focus of why you are here, I appreciate the acknowledgement that, this part of life is not everyone's favorite thing. So making the customer as comfortable as possible while they wait, and not nickle and diming for things like playing a game or having a snack is a testament to that customer-centric focus. Anyway. Car stuff. You can tell these guys love working on cars, and that's the reason for them being here mainly while being able to make a living. The reason for my visit, is I had just recently bought a Volvo s60 PHEV and wanted an independent inspection before committing to keep it. Volvos, especially those with a hybrid system, require a trained eye so you can't trust just any shop to evaluate. Twin City Euro has at least 1 certified Volvo tech on staff, and were able to schedule me within my purchase window, so I came to them. They did a full evaluation of my car, and helped me notice a few relatively minor cosmetic things I had not seen at first (but didn't ultimately affect my purchase), including the most minute of windshield chips... which caught now can prevent a crack later (and be serviced by the place I purchased it free). Of course, they also took it for a drive and put it through it's paces mechanically, and checked for ongoing proper maintenance, ultimately giving it a clean bill of health. It put me at ease, and also made me know, I have found my shop of choice for when I need maintenance or repairs on this vehicle. I'll be back, and would recommend other European car owners look into them for their maintenance and repair needs.

After initially taking it to useless Flow Volkswagen (don't ever go there...for anything...), we took it to Twin City. And unlike Flow, who's mechanics must've trained on Tonka Toys, the guys at Twin City actually lifted the dern hood and actually put their hands on the engine. They were able to correctly diagnose the problem and sadly it was catastrophic engine failure. While disappointed, their owner offered a fair price for the car, and even told me he'd fix it up to help someone else out. Don't find many car shop owner willing to do that. Needless to say, the folks at Twin City won me over and I'll be bringing my newer used Volkswagen to them for it's regular oil change next month. I had them do both of the used cars I bought and they lasted me forever with regular maintenance. In my experience everyone that works in this facility is honest, fair, they want to help people and they want them to be safe. This is the first and ONLY mechanic shop that I have been to as a woman where I wasn't treated like I was a dunce or less than. The employees here explain things in a way of informing you not persuading you or intimidating you with fear that if you don't complete the job something extraordinarily bad is going to happen. They give you realistic expectations on how much more you can drive until you need to really get it done which helps people that are on a budget. I think the prices are higher on average but the amount of service, attention, and thoroughness you get the price is very fair! I recommend this place to everyone I know especially women because I know how important it is to feel safe with mechanics and not like they are trying to get over on you! I've had my share of bad experiences but never with Christian Brothers! They truly exemplify the name!

Great communication, fair prices, and honest about issues. I've taken my car here twice and both…read moretimes they've done a great job. The first story doesn't make me look great, but I'll tell it like it happened. Story one: The first time I took my car there, my car was having chronic issues with the battery dying (in spite of AAA giving me a perfect battery check multiple times). A pseudo-mechanic friend messed around with it on the weekend, but concluded that my vehicle needed professional help. I dropped off my car on a busy weekday morning without an appointment. They were absolutely packed, but were willing to take my vehicle and try to diagnose the issue. They ran diagnostics and tested it in different ways over the course of a couple days, but weren't able to find any issues. My leading hypothesis is that my friend must have knocked something loose back into place. In any event, when I picked up the car, all they charged me for was the oil change. They could have EASILY charged me a ton for all the trouble my non-broken car gave them, but took the honest and transparent route. My car worked just find after I got it. Story two: During my first trip to Beroth, they identified that I had brake issues. My brakes should have still been under warranty under NTB and I told them I was going to try to see if the warranty would pay for it. I took my vehicle to NTB and they tried to charge me an exorbitant sum to replace damage due to a "failed part" (that I they installed.. that was under warranty...). In any event, I took my car into Beroth and they took care of my problem. They were able to charge me half of what NTB wanted to charge me, and did slightly less work (since some of what NTB recommended wasn't necessary). My brakes have been much better since the work they did. Overall, I'd recommend Beroth based on the two times they serviced my car. They had every opportunity to price gouge me, and they didn't. They were personable and took good care of my vehicle.
