I recently hired Ardmore Windows and Doors to replace 18 windows in my home, and while the sales…read moreprocess started off strong, the rest of the experience was incredibly disappointing. To begin with, the sales representative was punctual, knowledgeable, and thorough. He clearly explained all the window options and helped us choose the style we wanted. Unfortunately, that is where the professionalism ended. One of the most alarming issues occurred during installation: a window was either dropped or thrown from the second floor onto my front lawn, where it shattered. The crew made no attempt to clean it up. I only discovered the shards the next day while outside barefoot with my toddler. I spent hours picking up tiny pieces of glass myself. When I raised this with the project manager, he didn't apologize or show any concern--he simply offered $100 off for my "time." Beyond that, the overall project management and execution were riddled with issues. I had to review the order sheet at least ten times because the company repeatedly made mistakes--wrong quantities, wrong styles, wrong hardware. Even after all of that, the final order was still incorrect. I requested that the new windows match the existing styles (e.g., 6 over 1, 8 over 1), yet this was ignored, and we only realized the error during installation when it was too late to correct. They also installed two top sashes in one window and acted as if this was normal. Their explanation was that "owners ask for ridiculous things sometimes," so they didn't question it. This was the only window of the 18 installed incorrectly, yet I was the one who had to push to have it acknowledged. The hardware situation was equally unprofessional. They installed mismatched pieces--gold locks with nickel lifts--because the hardware we selected was "out of stock," but they never told us. When we asked for replacements, they simply handed me a catalog and told me to choose new ones, offering no guidance, even though only one alternative actually worked with the holes they had already drilled. Another major issue involved the window screens. I requested screens for all windows in the original estimate, and this was clearly documented. Despite that, no screens were installed. Their excuse was that "homeowners don't often want to open their windows." After the mistake was pointed out, they installed makeshift screens that don't fit properly and are extremely difficult to remove and replace--clearly not the correct screens for the windows we purchased. The job, which was supposed to take a few days, dragged on for weeks due to unfinished work, installation errors, and repeated reorders caused by their own mistakes. Some of the work is still unfinished. I would not recommend Ardmore Windows and Doors to anyone. Unless you want to act as your own project manager, clean up after the crew, and still end up with results that don't match what you paid tens of thousands of dollars for, look elsewhere.

I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of service and their attention to detail. Bob Rose met with me to go over the project and make sure we were all on the same page. There were no surprises. Well, maybe just one - it turns out one of the paint colors I picked out was hideous after it was applied. I've never been good with color charts; this was completely my fault. Bob and the job foreman readily let me pick another color, drove to Morristown and picked up the paint and corrected my error without skipping a beat. All work was done in the time frame and price that was promised. The painters did outstanding work. They're skilled, professional, and extremely hard workers. When they were finished, they cleaned up everything so well you'd never have known they were there. I highly recommend Monk's. They're responsive and provide great quality work at a fair price.

Our installers, Shane & Mike were fantastic. Arrived on time, were very courteous, and went about their job with a fervor. They were obviously very experienced and competent. When they were done, they went over everything with us, and when they left, with the exception of the windows, it was like they were never here, the cleanup was complete. I will be having more windows replaced in the future and, even if I have to wait, I will definitely request Shane & Mike be the installation crew. I must add that the entire situation, from the sales rep, Andrew Pras, the office staff, through to completion was very pleasant, informative and comfortable.

The…read morequote they provided was 4.5k for a pair of windows Low-E4 SmartSun HeatLock with frame, labor, and no tax included. The windows were made by Andersen. Then the next day I had Renewal By Andersen come to give me a quote and the quote on the same windows and material was approx 8.5k. Same material, same qty, frame, labor, not tax, etc. The seller was trying to up-sell me with features that I didn't need. And he showed me couple of samples trying to show by should we do it with them and that why to choose low-E4 and stuff. He used a heat meter and a heat source and couple of glass material in between to show how the glasses would insulate the heat and lower the bill during the seasons. Then I took the heat meter and walked outside to show that it wont get that hot except when you are near the sun and the seller tried to change the convo to another direction. Then he tried to pressure me to make decision right away to get 5% more in discount. The seller was also trying to persuade me to choose them and not to do more homework after meeting him. I hate those sales tactics, especially having done the homework beforehand... Also, the seller and I went through outside walkthrough and he pointed me that all the vinyls are from heat expansion and dissipation from the wall to the vinyls. In my mind they are more like wear and tear and a change in tape should be able to do the job just fine. And the seller kept up-selling me their services. From that point on, it made me realize they were not honest at all and shouldn't use their services... The next day I called Andersen, which is their parent company and inquired on the sashes and they told me that even though they are their parent company, Renewal By Andersen makes different type of windows and not the same as Andersen. And the seller didn't disclose this but instead said their windows are made by Andersen, and neither they recommended to obtain the sashes replacement. Having explore all the options with all the parties, the best option would be to buy replacement directly from Andersen themselves and if you are handy then do the changes yourselves... Definitely NOT recommend Renewal by Andersen, and would recommend to do your homework thoroughly ahead of time and consult with other alternatives like: Home Depot, Andersen, and other before moving forward. In addition, read other review in Yelp and Google and you will see their underhanded tactics and it is not just me but with most of the customers...

LONG VERSION - wish all home repair services were as professional, prompt, communicative and easy to work with as he is. When searching for window repair, other "window companies" resulted in rejection after rejection, as they only service what they installed. What good is that!?!? SO HAPPY I FOUND ROB AT UNBEATABLE! After emailing him via his site, he replied back promptly, even following up with a text message as I was traveling for work and didn't respond. Analyzing my problem was fast and easy. I sent him a picture of the window /crank/control arm, gave him measurements(he actually knew them but wanted to verify), then sent me links to the parts online for a fraction of the price of what local supply stores wanted. I purchased the parts directly(he gave me 3 sites to check inventory and color desired) and only charged labor costs (very reasonable) to fix both windows. His professionalism was off the charts! The windows work better than when we first installed them 17 years ago!!! Can't believe we lived with them working partially for so long. Wish I called /found Rob sooner! We have him down to fix our sliding door to the patio next - as one side is warped due to a water leak. Rob is awesome. I would give 50+ stars if I could!

Other vendors told us there was no way to keep the 130 year window moldings, but Turab not only helped us keep them, but had so many neat tricks to improve our restoration project. Other vendors just gave us offers against our project scope, but Turab explained to us the dynamics of different windows in different parts of the house and what types worked best and saved us money. He made custom moldings for our cellar windows. He also helped us out to stop a fly tipping incident one day when we were out and not able to deal with it ourselves. And when it was pouring with rain and our basement flooded, he went outside and took a really long and hard look and told us what the problem was. We got it fixed the same weekend and never had issues since.

Eventually, the office administrator gave me the direct phone number for her boss, Reggie, because even she couldn't get hold of him anymore. Every time there was a different excuse: he was "driving back from Florida," dealing with "an emergency with an employee in Florida," had to leave "for Florida," and so on. There was always another excuse. One day, his crew finally showed up and installed some of the window screens. However, they had to wait six hours for him to arrive to bring the material. Then we discovered that several of the screens didn't fit because he had measured them incorrectly. None of the large sliding door screens were even ready. Eventually, I'd had enough and demanded a refund for the unfinished work and the screens we never received. He promised again that he would come and complete the installation, even confirming it by email, but he never showed up. He repeated this two more times. Finally, I told him I was done and wanted our money back. His response was to hang up on me! And now, it shows that their business is "permanently closed" and I'm left to figure out how I'll get a refund from them!

John did a good job of explaining my options, prices, process etc. I live in a townhouse community which has an HOA to work with, the team at Window world handled the paperwork and documents needed for approval. The order was placed and the windows and patio door were delivered earlier than expected. An install appointment was scheduled. The install went smooth, I will say the installers worked until 8:30 in the evening. I believe they may have under estimated the amount of time needed for the install. I would definitely recommend they arrive earlier moving forward. I was disappointed as screens came in damaged but were quickly fixed a few days later. There was a bit of a mess left outside as it was dark out when completed and I know the installers couldn't see the debris that was left outside. I was also disappointed to see that the windows were left with grime, caulk etc which needed to be cleaned afterwards. I was also not satisfied with the walk thru of the features of the windows, I did not know that the sliding window could actually be easily removed to clean them. All in all it was a good experience, the price was far less than Anderson and Pella. The warranty offered is very good. I am confident I made a good decision.
