I thought Dr. Dinh's office was very clean, well decorated, welcoming and modern. On or about 2014, I saw Dr. Dinh to fill a cavity and was recommended a root canal and a crown, which her office charged and I paid a bit under two thousand dollars for. I have never needed a root canal before and was wholly unaware that it is a separate procedure done by an endodontist. I returned for multiple lengthy appointments for this recommended "root canal" and crown. Despite issues with the temporary crown before the permanent crown was ready, I remember thinking she did such a great job that I even made appointments for my pre-kindergarteners' cleanings after Dr. Dinh's receptionist told me Dr. Dinh also sees children. In hindsight, her clinic is not kid-friendly in any way so my fault for not making the connection. At their appointments, both my kids were shy and uncomfortable. So the appointments were cut short when Dr. Dinh, her dental assistant and I were unable to get the kids to open their mouths for inspections or their cleanings. Her office charged and I paid full price for the kids' appointments regardless. My husband was quite bothered that we were charged for a two full appointments when Dr. Dinh gave up trying to entertain the children pretty quickly, and that no dental work was actually performed, so we never went back to her dentistry. Fast forward a few years later, I visited a different dentistry when the crown Dr. Dinh placed fell out. At this appointment, the new dentist and her dentist business partner were both confused as to why I believed I had a root canal when the root to my tooth was clearly still in my mouth. In addition, based on their X-rays, they thought the crown was unnecessary and that the original cavity could've been filled. In an attempt to get to the bottom of this, I called Dr. Dinh's office to request my records without giving a reason, which the receptionist tried to convince me, adamantly, that I was not entitled to. A few days later, her office called back stating that I could pick up my records at their office, as if they didn't deny me of them in the first place. I never picked up the records so I am not making any accusations. I also understand that there is no requirement of a root canal being done prior to a dental crown. However, the initial refusal of my records, the lack of explanation or alternative option, my inconsistent belief of what was actually done to my teeth, in addition to the second dentists' advice and eventual dental work really made me suspicious of my experience. Despite the situation described above, I would say that Dr. Angie Dinh acted professionally at all times when we interacted and had very gentle hands. read more

I went there for the first time in 2019 after not having seen a dentist in 2 years. I found her to be quite talkative and pleasant. What I really appreciated was her and her staff taking the time to answer all of my questions and provide thorough service; going over our allotted time twice to make sure I was satisfied with my bite and explain to me what was going on in my mouth! What I didn't love about the office was that it's open floor plan; you can overhear other patient interactions (and probably be overheard). I heard someone receive unfortunate news which I would have wanted to be private, if it were me. There is also nothing to dampen the sound of drilling from other rooms. It can be loud. But it is a stylish office with big windows! I also didn't love being sold on fluoride toothpaste I don't think I really needed. Oh well. Overall, I think if you appreciate someone being straight with you and upfront, this is a good dentist to go to. She is not a cuddly, comforting person but she is very competent and knowledgeable. read more

A few years ago, before Yelp had its automated system of throwing out reviews, I wrote a one star review and Angie Dinh asked me to remove it (details below). Angie Dinh was my dentist for a couple of years. I've never really liked going to the dentist, but her office was the most tolerable since it was stylish. :) Her bedside manner, as others said, left something to be desired, but I overlooked it as you really only have endure dentist visits every six months. I have great dental insurance and she did charge quite a bit over what the "customary" rate is. But so do other dentists I've visited in Houston, so I didn't really mind that. The main thing I didn't like about Angie's office is that she doesn't use sedation. If you have high dental anxiety like I do, you might want to find another dentist! My wisdom teeth started coming in so I asked her to refer me to an oral surgeon (none that I could find take patients without a referral from their regular dentist). She told me that she couldn't do that until SHE removed the two bottom teeth. I was under the impression that wisdom teeth need a proper removal by surgeon unless they are growing in like regular teeth, and mine weren't. She assured me that she knew what she was doing. She removed them with no sedation, which was awful for me, but I didn't have any other problems. Later, when I visited the oral surgeon she questioned me as to what had happened with my bottom wisdom teeth. I told her Angie had cut them out / pulled them and the surgeon said that NEVER should have happened! It has been over 5 years and my gumline is still damaged. :( So....I wrote this review and then switched dentists upon the surgeon urging me to do so. My husband, who hates change, kept Angie as his dentist. Right after posting my review he had an appointment. I should note that Angie had my address, email and phone number as well as the ability to respond or contact me via Yelp, which she NEVER did. My husband came home from his routine cleaning and told me that Angie had told him to ask me to delete my negative review!!! I did so out of respect for him as he didn't want to be uncomfortable at his next visit. On the first review, I gave Angie two stars. Now I wish I could give her negative five. :( I thought it was incredibly unprofessional of her to approach my husband about MY opinion of her services. Especially when she had multiple ways of contacting ME to discuss things. read more

Dr. Dinh is thorough and friendly. She gives good preventative advice, administers nearly painless shots for fillings, and double-checks her techs' work. Although I've been in for what I'd assumed would be unpleasant experiences, I've never felt like Dr. Dinh took too long or made a mistake, and I always have confidence that she will do a good job. My family and I have been going to her for years, and plan to continue. read more

I went to Dr. Dinh for the first time last week on a recommendation from friends at work. The office was exactly how I would imagine a spa would look. I had a check-up and cleaning. I was surprised the dentist did the actual cleaning, usually it's done by a hygienist. Everybody at the office was professional and friendly. I have to go back at a later date for fillings and perhaps replace a veneer. The main (only) issue I had was with the "treatment plan". I was told what would be done, rather than engaged in a discussion of what the appropriate course would be for me personally. I like to be involved in the decision making process. read more

I hate to say it, because I like Dr. Dinh and her hygienist and receptionist a lot, but I just don't think they are that great. I think that she is most likely good for routine stuff like cleanings and fillings, but I doubt she is good enough to be doing more complicated things like root canals and whatever else has been mentioned on previous reviews. I found her office because she is one of the few dentists that accepted whatever dental insurance that Rice U was offering a few years ago when I was going to school there. She did my root canal and took care of a couple cavities a few years ago. Suffice it to say, even though I live/work a couple blocks from her office I did not go back to her place after I graduated (had did not have dental insurance). Even in the past year and a half that I did not have a car, I just didn't go to a dentist....It wasn't anything in specific, it was just that I felt there must be better dentists out there. In the end, I finally went to another dentist a week ago. For what its worth, he said was that her fillings were well done. As for the root canal, even though my current dentist says it may not be her fault (sometimes it just happens), apparently I got a failed root canal and I'm seeing a specialist next week.... read more

I first saw Dr Dinh in an emergency situation. It was two days before my wedding, I had just lost a filling at Pappas Seafood, called my regular dentist and he was out on medical leave. In a panic, I went to the closest dentist to my location that took my insurance. Luckily, it was Dr. Dinh. She was amazing! Her office is very spa-like and the staff is very friendly. Dr Dinh always explains the procedures thoroughly and seems to care about you as her patient. I really appreciate her kind attitude, I have had some rather big jerks as dentists in the past. I have been going here for a year and a half now and I am comfortable with Angie being my dentist. My first trip there I felt that they were pushing me to try cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening, when I was there to for initial x-rays and a teeth cleaning. I left with a bad taste in my mouth (figuratively) because I didn't feel that they really cared about cleaning patients teeth, but just making them look white and perfect. My second and third visits were much better. Maybe once they realized they couldn't sell me that stuff they gave up? Now when I go there they work hard on my teeth and are very nice. I've been seeing Dr. Dinh for quite a while, and I have nothing bad to say! The office has a very calm atmosphere and feels more like a spa. She and her staff do what they can to take the stress out of a trip to the dentist. I like that they send email confirmations of your appointments that make it easy to add them to your Outlook calendar. I have been pretty lucky and have never had to have major dental work done, but they do a great job with my regular cleanings and I have had a few small cavities filled with no problems. read more

I would not recommend this dentistry because My insurance and I was billed for a free consultation with now work done at all! I've gone to Dr. Dinh for several months now. Since the first visit, her and her staff have been nothing but nice to me. I had not visited a dentist in a much longer time than I'd like to admit, but she didn't give me a guilt trip like other dentists in the past have done to me. Like someone else said on here, she doesn't use sedation, but she has always been more than willing to numb up the work area when I've gone in. She's been willing to answer any questions I have, as has her staff. Dinh has also recommended me to two different periodontists about more involved procedures when she thought them to be necessary. I keep going back because of the friendliness of everyone in the office, and, if the Texas heat wouldn't kill me, within walking distance of my apartment. read more

I've been going to Dr. Dinh for 7-8 years. I love Dr. Dinh, she is super friendly and great to talk with. Katherine at front desk is great and always is helpful. I will not change dentist, if I can help it. Katherine no longer works there as of a couple months ago but the new girl is sweet and she's a fast learner. I finally convinced my husband to start going and he loves the office and staff. He has a busy schedule and they always fit him in. The dental hygienist are very nice as well and very informed. I went to Dr. Dinh after reading her glowing reviews online, and since her office is conveniently located. It's true, her office decor is very stylish and modern, the receptionist and assistants are kind, and the doctor is efficient and adept at what she does. Her cool, no-nonsense bedside manners kind of put me off, but I thought nothing of it. As long as she does the job well and is professional, I'm ok. But my last visit to her was shocking. Granted, this was near the end of the day so she wants to go home sooner than later. But her bedside manners were deplorable and very unprofessional. When she was making the filling, I kept on swallowing because a piece of gauze inside was tickling my throat. But instead of stopping her work to ask me if I was ok, she kept on asking annoyingly "Why are you swallowing? I have to do this over again each time you swallow" while she kept on prodding my mouth with the tools. Afterwards, when I was supposed to chew down on a piece of paper to see if the filling was done right, she said impatiently to me "Why aren't you listening to me?" like I was a child when I wasn't chewing down as fast as she wanted. Even her assistant helping looked at her in surprise of how she was talking to me. I had much better dentists in the past (even student dentists!) and today made me even more appreciative of them. read more

Don't be fooled by the façade of her office. Yes, it's very nice, modern and chic; however, her bedside manner and dental performance are very poor. I went to her 3 times, first time I was impressed because she cleaned my teeth herself. On second visit I was her last appointment. I was annoyed because I got off work early so I can be on time for my appointment but I had to wait almost an hour. After the long wait, it took them 15 min to clean and to check my teeth. They were rushed! The third visit (morning appointment), she was irritated half way through cleaning my teeth and I'm not kidding you she started talking to me like I was a child! She told me I needed scaling, which is supposed to be "deep" cleaning and additional $150-$200. At first I hesitated because I have never been told by any dentist in the last 25 yrs I needed this procedure. Then she proceeded to lecture me about how I'm not taking care of my teeth as well as I should and made me felt awkward about the condition of my teeth. I was surprised after all she was the one who cleaned my teeth the last 2 visits. However she's the "professional", I had to trust her and did what she recommended. As it turned out it was NOT any different from regular cleaning at all (at least in the way that she did it on me). I felt like I was taken advantage of!! Ugh! Dr.Dinh, you are fired!!!! Be careful and up front about what dental services they'll do and how much it will cost you out of pocket. We went for simple cleaning on several appointments and always pay $200-300 after insurance out of pocket each time. I thought my insurance was lousy. I found out later from detailing billing sent from my insurance that they charge outrageously for simple procedures like "consultation - just looking to see what needs to be done", x-rays, etc...) I called and refused to pay the $190 they tried to collect from me for months and now they sent to collections. Collections have been trying to hassle me with letters and phone calls at work and cell. It's a nightmare for a simple teeth cleaning. MY CREDIT IS RUINED! read more

My experience with Dr. Dinh has been good so far. I went in because my teeth were starting to rot I thought initially. It had been a loooong while since I had been to a dentist. Dr. Dinh didn't give me a guilt trip and told me it was only major plaque build up and my teeth were not rotting as I thought they were. That was good news. She spent about 1 hour or more doing a major deep cleaning. She did a great job, although I have had more pleasurable experiences in life, she did what she had to do to do the job right. I then had to remove my only 2 wisdom teeth on another visit. She extracted my teeth in no time, and this was actually more pleasurable than my initial cleaning. I have followed up with her one more time for another follow up cleaning and will be seeing her again in August. All my visits have been good experiences, from Dr. Dinh to her staff. Everyone has treated me well and I would recommend her office to anyone. read more
