I originally reviewed this place a 5 star... until I realized I was overcharged and when I brought it to their attention I've been ghosted since. I was referred here by my dentist, for a gum graft. I checked before coming to ensure they were in-network, and my insurance was accepted AND in-network. I came in for a consult with the hopes of same day procedure, thankful to get it done, and Dr. Tandon is quite knowledgeable. However the graft failed, and when I came in upset I was dismissed and asked if I did everything correctly post-op. I'm thankful to work in healthcare, and have friends/ family who are also in the dentistry field. I was told since it was a same day procedure they had to run my insurance afterwards, and will get a reimbursement later. I received my EOB (explanation of benefits) and a reimbursement... only to see that they overcharged the allowed amount per insurance AND I was billed as out-of-network? So warning, they will overcharge and when you want to communicate to fix the issue, they will take your money and never contact you again... Oh and when the procedure fails they try to say its your fault! Scammy insurance and business practices... read more

Enjoying the comfortable chairs in the waiting room before my exam. So clean in here along with the entrance. Went back after some time since you know dentists... I have had a couple hiccups along the way but overall the service and explanations have been great for me. I feel they who I am each time I enter feeling welcomed. I also feel that they don't overbook like alot of dentists to make you wait forever. I haven't been the best of flossing. However they offer great options for me such as the laser gum treatment or more frequent cleanings. Overall, I feel they listen to what I want and help come up with a plan that makes me comfortable. read more

Clinicians at this practice are top notch. However, I cannot recommend the practice due to the behavior of the billing department. Incorrect information about insurance coverage, badmouthing insurance providers, changing information about whether individual providers are in-network or not... I prefer clear, accurate information and options. Especially concerning is when the billing department offers their own clinical assessments and contradicts the dentist's advice. I will not be returning to this practice, and neither should you. read more

The dentist and staff were friendly at first. Unfortunately, the abutment fell out just two days after it was installed. I called immediately, but they scheduled my appointment three days later. By the time I came in, I was told the wound had already closed and that I would need to be anesthetized again. This was extremely frustrating and could have been avoided if they had seen me promptly. Poor technique and a very inconsiderate approach to patient care. read more

I've been a patient of Polish Dentristy almost 15 years. I've been around to see the practice change names, ownership, staff, and buildings. The level of service today is nothing compared to how things used to be. The dentist practice changed ownership and locations and the quality of service went down hill. I used to have the same dentist and hygienist every visit consistently. Now every time I go I see a new face. Some are permanent, but more often the staff is agency workers. Some visits are good visits and some I feel like I'm dealing with incompetent or inexperienced staff. I recently had my final straw. The assistant could not get my x-rays right. I have a small mouth. Most of the hygienist use smaller tools and techniques to get accurate x rays from me. This one was so uncomfortable. I then had to wait for a dentist to see me before starting my cleaning. While waiting they wanted to polish my teeth. I've never in my life had my teeth polished before being cleaned. I waited some more and still no dentist. No one provided me with a wait time. No one checked on me. There is lack of quality patient care between the inconsistency, incompetency, and high turnover of staff. The only thing consistent is the inconsistencies and poor quality. About the only thing good this practice has going is Abby who sits at the front desk. She's always helpful and accommodating. If you are looking for consistent and quality dental care, then you are better off choosing a Dentist with an establiahed practice. I'll be doing the same. Good riddance Polish. read more

While the space is beautiful and everyone was super nice to me, the actual quality of the dental care was terrible. Short version: they riled me up over non-issues and wanted to do almost $2,500 of work another dentist confirmed was unnecessary. I went for a normal checkup visit - no big issues, I was just overdue. The dentist (who was not even the dentist I'd booked with) had me freaked out thinking I had mouth cancer due to a couple spots on my gums, then pointed to something in x-rays she claimed definitively proved it was from old fillings and I was fine and didn't need to worry about cancer after all. (Mind you, she'd already looked at the x-rays before examining my mouth. Why she didn't just immediately make the connection from the x-rays before spending 5 minutes re-asking drinking, smoking, family history, etc. questions I'd already answered on the intake forms and getting me panicked over possible cancer is beyond me.) So, no cancer, but I DID supposedly need a bunch of fillings, crown work, and had inflamed gums. Oh, and my teeth grinding had purportedly caused bone fragments to grow in the bottom of my mouth. The dentist sent someone else in to explain the almost $2,500 (after dental insurance) of work I purportedly needed. They claimed they could do a special more extensive cleaning, multiple fillings, get me fitted for a crown on a tooth that had never had one, and remove an old crown and get me fitted for a replacement in 2 hour follow-up visit. Seems pretty ambitious to me considering it'd taken over an hour to do x-rays and an exam that didn't even include a cleaning. Did the dentist deliberately scare me into thinking I could have cancer so I would just be happy the other alleged issues were a comparatively easy fix and I would just pay for the recommended treatment without thinking? I have no idea, but that's what it feels like happened. I got a second opinion and am really glad I did. The next dentist thought almost all of the work Polish wanted to do was extremely overkill. I can't speak to their cosmetic work, but if you're just looking for a regular dentist, be VERY wary if they suggest a bunch of expensive treatments when you aren't actually having any issues. read more

I make it a point to get there a few minutes early to allow for time to check in etc. Both times, I've waited 15 minutes past my appointment time and no one has said anything to me in those `5 minutes about how much longer it will be. Polish has completely changed the way I feel about going to the dentist as an adult. I have had the worst dental anxiety after getting 18 fillings in one sitting as a 12 year old, failing Invisalign, enduring metal braces, and having impacted wisdom teeth surgically removed after being told years before that I wouldn't need them removed. At Polish, I learned for the first time in my life what periodontitis was, and that I had this terrible, irreversible gum disease, but the treatment plan they came up with for me has me feeling way more empowered. Recently I had a great experience with Dr. Yen, who did a great job on my fillings and helped me come to terms with my periodontitis, as well as Christie, a wonderful dental hygienist who recommended Cocofloss and informed me that toothpaste isn't supposed to be rinsed out with water--a mistake I had made all my life! Decided to write a quick review since I was looking up their info to share with a co-worker. I've been a patient of Dr. D's since sometime in 2011 (when it was called Floss). I got my Invisalign done there, all of my cleanings, and they address all of my questions. I never feel like I'm being sold something I don't need; Dr. D takes the time to answer my questions and explain any concerns she may have. For this reason, I've come back at least twice a year to handle my dental needs, even though I haven't lived in Houston for years. I drive hours out of my way to get my check up's here, and plan to continue visiting Dr. D for my dental needs for the foreseeable future. read more

It took me almost a year to write this review, mainly because I was waiting to see if I actually lost my tooth, also because I hate leaving bad reviews. Now a friend is having issues with them. So here it goes. Needed a single front veneer for a discolored tooth. No infection at initial visit. 6 visits, 2 MONTHS with a temporary (once it even fell off at work an hour after I left the dentist!), multiple issues with the lab, 2x shaving down my tooth, and thousands $$ later, I finally got my veneer. 4 weeks later, I'm back in the chair having Endodontic surgery (apicoectomy) to remove the top portion of my root because I somehow now had an infection on the same tooth. This place scammed me out of $300. I made an appointment for a teeth cleaning last year as a new customer because it was a convenient location, had good reviews and was listed as an in-network provider through my dental insurance. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told in the exam chair that the bill would be over $300 for an extensive cleaning due to gingivitis. I have never been diagnosed with gingivitis previously or since and I expect this is part of their ploy to get more money as a regular cleaning would have been half the cost. As my dental insurance covers all cleanings, even the special deep, gingivitis cleanings I said fine. They then told me that they could not confirm dental insurance coverage while I was there so I could just pay the balance with my credit card and when the insurance payment came in they would refund me the difference. I paid the total bill before leaving their office and a few weeks later received my explanation of benefits from my dental insurance that the visit was covered and my responsibility for the visit should have been $30. It also said that the insurance sent the dental office payment for the services. I contacted the dental office with a copy of this information and to ask when I should expect the refund I was promised. They said that they had not gotten the explanation of benefits yet and to check back in a week. I did this and then they said their office manager who handles finances was on vacation. Finally, two months after my initial visit, I was able to get ahold of the office while the office manager was working and was told that the refund had been completed to my credit card. However, they had only refunded $60 to my credit card. I tried several times to reach out asking if there had been a mistake because I had paid over $300 and my dental insurance had sent them additional money for the visit. They completely ignored me and never returned my messages. I have to assume at this point that this is a scam to get people to overpay at the office and then hope that they forget or do not have time to fight them for a refund. Stay away from this place. read more

This is by far the worst dental experience I have ever encountered. After my cleaning I got an infection. When I called to make an appointment about the infection they tried to tell me it was due to my cavitities that need to be filled. I told them that was not the case and it was in the back of my mouth behind my wisdom teeth. I came back in and the dentist still acted like I was making it up. Before even looking into the situation she told me to take advil. After looking, and realizing that there was actually an infection, she prescribed me an antibiotic. I had to come back in for a biopsy and after leaving the front desk called to get my payment over the phone, and yet a few weeks later I still received a bill from UT health. It appears that they either took my payment twice, or the front desk did not make the payment. I received a referral from Polish to an oral surgeon to get my wisdom teeth taken out, and the oral surgeon had to call them multiple times because they said I was not their client. I have yet to receive any information on the biopsy, and it has been over a month. read more

Every time I go here they recommend a service. The service is a small cavity etc. The billing person comes before the service and tells me how much it will cost. I say okay. I pay them when I leave and then I get a bill from them or insurance saying I owe even more. This is the 3rd time it's happened. I'm done with this place. Once they asked me for a copay and I argued it and then they said oh yea nvm u don't have a copay. They have no clue what's going on with billing. read more

I used to go to this location when it was Floss and was a little hesitant when they changed to Polish but it's still the same great staff, only under a new name! I've been going to this location for years, from cleanings to Invisalign treatment, they always take care of me. The staff seems to genuinely care about their patients and always remember my name and preferences. I tried a new dentist on this last visit, Dr. Saremi and she was wonderful. She was extremely knowledgable and gave me thorough yet concise explanations each step of the way. The other staff working in the office were very courteous and welcoming as well. I have been a patient at this location for many years. Every staff member is always professional and friendly! The providers are caring and knowledgeable. They take my insurance and charges are never unreasonable. I have been there for services from ranging from routine to a root canal and I'm always comfortable during my visit, and delighted with my results after, every time. I'm greeted by name as I walk in the door without having to announce myself and have never waited more than just a couple of minutes in their comfortable waiting room. I am going to start this off by saying I am not a fan of visiting the dentist. I don't think that most people are. However, I swear by this office. I have gone in for a deep cleaning and another time for a wisdom tooth extraction. They were as pleasant as they could possibly be. I have walked out of previous deep cleanings in yet ears, but not here at Polish! Dr. Baba removed three of my wisdom teeth with one impacted. He was able to get them out quickly with little pain, and even called to check on me afterwards. I was provided written instructions and a follow up call number should anything go wrong. They are healing nicely, and no pain after- just a little swelling that was managed with over the counter medicine. I was awake for the procedure. I love the televisions at each station. They let you have something else to focus on while you are getting any work done. They are super convenient and even offer before work hours twice a week, however they are not open on weekends. Also, once you are a patient of record you get free teeth whitening- that is a huge plus! I have referred my husband and three co-workers to this office, and I will be referring more! read more

It was absolutely horrific!! Dr. Kwee made such a big mistake and they couldn't even take a normal X-ray which was blurry and I had to retake it at other MUCH better dentistry! She said that I have a broken duct and told me to eat sour and massage the VERY much swollen cheek. Where I had an INFECTED tooth and a CYST!! And needed imidiate assistance antibiotics and removal of the tooth and a cyst!! How couldn't she see that being a dentist?? Are you joking?? Even after doing the X-ray she couldn't see that!! Just AWEFUL dentist! So unprofessional! I was in pain and all swollen. Never ever going back to that place! read more
