They did not hesitate to call and look further into helping me in my time of need ! They called John to assist them with getting the lock lug nut off. John arrived no more than 10 minutes later to save my day ! He was able to get the lock lug nut off and get my spare tire put on in no time ! When I tried to give this man money for his troubles he wouldn't take it ! Good people still ! I can't thank this man enough for his kindness ! I live in NYC but am frequently traveling to the north shore of Massachusetts. I came in to State Automotive because my rear suspension was making some squeaks and I wanted to repair it if possible. During the inspection, which was incredibly thorough and documented VERY well, they found a control arm issue which was critical for safety. The squeak issue is actually not a safety issue and I would need to find the part from a third party as it isn't made anymore and getting it pulled at a scrap yard is not a good idea. Andrew couldn't find the part anywhere and I learned this is a common issue on these older Audi cars. The repair to the control arm was done quickly and at a very good price - especially considering the extra consideration Andrew gave to the issue. He gave me a lot of helpful information on how to address additional issues (or not) and was honest about the Car's prognosis. Lastly- worth mentioning that Andrew and his team provide fantastic documentation: a breakdown of all the car issues, photos of the key problems, and a print out for the missing parts needed to repair. If I keep the car and it need more service while I'm in MA, Andrew and his team will be my first stop. Highly recommended.

They communicated honestly, explained what was happening and gave me great confidence throughout the process. I left a message on the weekend and got a call at 8am on Monday to make an appointment. Very responsive and easy to deal with on the phone. We had a brief discussion about my brakes. I told him it was the first brake job I had gotten on this vehicle. It barely had 40k miles. I was expecting brake pads all around. Maybe a few hundred dollars max. When I showed up to pick up my car, they dropped a bill for $1000 dollars in front of me and told me my rear brakes were seized (flat out lie) and that I needed new rotors all the way around. They went ahead and did it without ever calling me. I was furious. I'm 100% certain my rotors were just fine. I just needed new pads and the rotors turned. Then after I left I checked my credit card. They charged me 2 separate times. One for the bill they gave me at $943.23 and then a second charge for $503.23. I was beside myself angry when I left there before even discovering the second charge for over $500 so as you can imagine, my blood pressure was through the roof. Luckily I used a credit card and not a debit card so I can dispute the second charge. I'll never understand why these mechanics pull stuff like this. Why would you do this to a customer? This is flat out theft and stealing money from people. Update 11/26/22 4 days after picking car up from them. I just checked my credit card statement. They credited my account $ 943.23. I was dreading having to go back and forth with them to get this fixed so this was a huge relief.
