The food was cold and this is what I found the moment I opened the lid‍(a black ant in the yams‍)

The customer service was decent, however the food...cold upon pick up so if it was supposed to taste hot and/or fresh, it didn't ..the moment I took the lid off yams...this turned me off completely

Liver, dressing, collard greens and sweet potato pie. Muffin was hard.

Food tasted room temperature and dressing was slightly hard. A taste as if food was sitting uncovered and not in heat pans for several hours. I was surprised to see the liver soaked in gravy and only ate a little bit. No plates- Styrofoam plates only. Restaurant was clean and good customer service.

This is actually my second time here. Excellent food. I got the fries whiting, greens and sweet potatoes and cornbread muffin. They make everything fresh, so you do have to wait about 15-20 minutes for your food. I'm so full. It's only 5pm and I'm ready to pass out! Food coma. Green beans are good and so is the fried chicken. If I'm ever back this way, I will definitely stop back.

I've been to this Restaurant before but didn't find anything on the menu worth getting, today was different. I decided to get the salmon Patties with my two Choice of sides being Mac & Cheese with their locally loved candied yams which the Person taking my order help persuade me to get. To touch on that, the service was great they showed love for the food they prepared for every customer willing to come into the establishment and spend their hard earned money. Before I touch on the atmosphere of the place I want to dive into my review on the food. First the Mac and Cheese don't hesitate to show a little more love back there while cooking it, second the yaams were pretty inconsistent (some were hard some were soft) but the the flavor and taste was great! Lastly the Salmon Patties were Crispy and had a great Crunch but same as the Mac could use some more TLC. So to fully wrap this place up in whole it could use some more Love and care and that goes from the seasons in the food to making the inside of the establishment more modern and updated.

In the 1960s my father had an office in the small strip of stores across Carnegie from where Angie's is located, and I would stop at Hot Sauce William's from time to time, so I watched the slow progress of converting the building into Angie's, but it was worth the wait. Angie's tore the building down to the bare walls and rebuilt everything back to get what is essentially a new building with the same footprint. Walking in I was surprised by the stylish rustic decor, including hanging wood doors cand really cool looking ceiling fans create a casual, welcoming, but classy feel, not at all what I expected. The menu boards are on the wall and you order at the window to the right; note that this location of Angie's is cash free, so you have to have a credit card or an electronic payment method. I selected the Catfish Dinner with Candied Yams and Mac and Cheese as the sides to go. Since they cook the fish fresh it took about 7 minutes, and the fish smelled so good that I almost had to eat it right there. The Catfish were two large fillets, perfectly breaded and fried so that the fish was moist and tender inside with a crunchy crust perfectly seasoned. The baked Mac and Cheese was very good, tender noodles in a mild cheesy sauce. The Yams were incredibly tender and sweet, it could have been desert. The corn muffin was also good. Angie's serves incredibly delicious soul food at reasonable prices and they have a really nice dining room. Being located in Midtown on Carnegie means it is a great place to get outstanding food when heading to downtown or to the East Side.

This place has been redeemed in my opinion. I have tried to do business here at least 4 times but they were always busy and slow. However, I went there Saturday afternoon and to my surprise, there was NO Wait for a call- in order. Once before when I did Door Dash, my order was canceled about 1.5 hours later. I was waiting and waiting. Yesterday, I had the best baked chicken and dressing, Mac n cheese , and greens. OMG. I wished I had ordered one for yesterday and one for today and the best part was they gave me a cup of cranberry sauce without me asking for it. The only drawback was a cold corn muffin that was not so good and it was refrigerator cold. I even enjoyed the peach cobbler! It was a very good balance of peaches to crust. The true test will be on a Sunday take out order... can they deliver? I will let you know!

I discovered Zanzibar Soul Fusion on Google Maps after searching for the nearest "soul bowl"…read morerestaurant. I was pleased to find that it was listed on Uber Eats, which is my preferred ordering platform. Its 4.1-star rating (out of 2,000+ reviews) gave me the assurance I needed that I would have a quality experience, along with an endorsement from Mallory S., a Cleveland Yelper I follow. There was another Zanzibar closer to me--which was the one I originally found--but this location was the only one accepting orders at the time and it had a higher rating. Looking through the menu at Zanzibar, I just could not order from this restaurant without getting the soul rolls. After a thorough search of the menu, I discovered that the standard soul rolls contained chicken, which led me to choose the veggie option--only to find out they were unavailable. Something I could not take my eyes off of was the walleye cakes entrée. It is served with a side of house cajun corn plus a choice of an additional side. The thought of ordering baked macaroni & cheese put a smirk on my face, so I swapped out the cajun corn for it, and then chose collard greens as my additional side. I ordered all of that along with a cornbread muffin! Hey now, I cannot order from a Southern food restaurant and not get cornbread! Whether using Grubhub or, in this case, Uber Eats, I love ordering online because it is so convenient. Much praise to my Uber Eats delivery driver, Julian, for arriving at a reasonable time and meeting me in front of the hotel. Julian also made sure to confirm my identity before handing over the food, which I cannot thank him enough for. Oh, the wonderful smell of Southern food! I could not help but smell my order while riding the elevator up to my hotel room. I was very satisfied with the presentation of my it, which had generous portions for the price I paid. The walleye cakes had a flavor my taste buds absolutely loved; they had a slight kick, but nothing unbearable. The addition of red bell pepper and green herbs complemented the dish perfectly. I would definitely order it again if I saw it on a restaurant menu. It honestly had me dancing in between bites! The macaroni and cheese had my mouth watering for more. It was a perfect blend of cheesy, buttery goodness, and it was clearly baked! My mouth watered at the first bite of the collard greens, which thankfully did not have chunks of meat inside. That was something I worried about prior to ordering, based on a past experience at another Southern restaurant. They were so good--perfectly smoky, savory, and a little bit tangy. Mmm...Need I say anything about the cornbread muffins? They were the icing on the cake to top off this satisfying meal and the last thing I ate. It was the best cornbread muffin I have had in a while, and that is no exaggeration. If you are undecided on what to order at Zanzibar, I highly recommend this meal because it will surely leave you satisfied and possibly dancing. Alright now, Zanzibar! You have won over this Midwest traveler from Chicago. Because I had a great ordering experience, I would surely order from Zanzibar Soul Fusion again--whether via Uber Eats delivery or takeout--whenever I visit Cleveland. I suppose that if you're interested in the image of your food, As Ashley said in her review, that…read morethis place would be quite bad. It's not in a hip part of town. I don't think there's table service. The decor does not have artsy metals and hand blown glass accents. By the same way of thinking, every food truck and street food joint would be bad. Big Al's in Larchmere would be avoided and the Sokolowskis would have been closed decades ago. "Ashley" said nothing about the food, man! She had problems with containers and condiments! Restaurants are about the food! My experience with this place starts at work: a coworker was eating a mammoth sized portion of fettuccine Alfredo-looking stuff and I asked her where she got it. She said "Greedys" and pointed in the direction of the place. "I call ahead like 15 minutes and walk over to get it. This is like $10 and I can eat it for dinner too, there's so much You should try it. I go there twice a week, at least." Being a vegan on the east side is rough, and I'm the worst vegan ever, so when I cheat, I don't hold back. The next day I was craving chicken like crazy, and I gave Greedy's a shot: Holy $#*¥! Greedys chicken was DOPE. Haha. Honest to god, it's the best chicken I've ever eaten. It's got something in the breading that puts it over the top. Some voodoo salty spicy goodness that makes me never want to stop eating it. I took an order of chicken strips back to work and shared with a few coworkers - the general consensus was that, indeed, that was the best chicken strips they had ever had. I probably made a lot of customers for Greedys that day. We all commented on the special magic coating...it is something special. And now I'm out a few days, and keep thinking about that chicken...those hand-cut fries....just wow. And the order of 5 strips was a laughable $6. It was more food than anyone but a glutton vegan on a protein bender could eat. So now every day I'm faced with the decision of my bland vegetables from home for lunch, or walking those few steps to Greedys. It's right next door to a church- and the chicken is like a religious experience.
