Bake chicken should always be served with dressing. When frying chicken let it be cook to order. When you fry too much at one time and you don't have a steady flow of traffic. Went to the Harvard Ave location. They really need order here. How is it that people with similar orders to mines get their food before me when they ordered after I did. This Angie's is the best of their locations in Cleveland. I've been to the others but this one was IT! As soon as I walked in I noticed the establishment was clean. Also, the staff was so-so, they weren't rude and helped us with our order, but they weren't happy to be there. Smile a little people, it goes a long way. When I'm given the receipt to sign, the cashier points at my receipt (at the tip section) for me to fill out. I don't normally do reviews. Besides fried chicken Angie's offers catfish, whiting, tilapia, perch, salmon croquettes, shrimp, beef tips, pork chops, oxtails and beef and short ribs. Some of the sides offered are black eye peas, cabbage, yams, mac & cheese, potato salad, green beans and collard greens. Everything is fresh! Nothing is canned. Their waffles are outstanding as well! The only bad thing I can say about Angie's is that their cordbread muffins are a little dry. The restaurant itself was pretty bare. Customers don't linger either, they order their food at the counter and wait for it to be prepared then leave. Insider tip: Make sure to ask for some hot sauce for your fried chicken. Tonight we went to Angie's Soul Food on Harvard Avenue. I had tried the food recently. So when we approached the counter the cashier was clearly on a video call. She did not greet us, then abruptly pointed us to another counter while shouting, we ain't taking orders for nothing fried. Well okay because that's not why I came. She walks over phone in hand, to take our order which before I asked for cake was 51.00 (for the two of us). I then asked for 2 pieces of cake. She walked over and snatched one piece of cake from the top like a catchers mitt. I then said I asked for two. She said it ain't but two up there. So I asked if she was ok. She then said is you okay? My wife and I found this location in the Lee Harvard Shopping Center, not too long after flying in to Cleveland-Hopkins airport for our trip to Ohio during Thanksgiving in November 2012. Stopped in here after I met the owner, Adrian. It's just a basic, neighborhood carryout/diner place, but don't let the appearance fool you! The menu selection is pretty wide. The food smells amazing. My father and I decided to dine in following church service at the location on St. Clair Avenue. We arrived at approximate 1:20pm. I requested meatloaf, but the host stated it would take approximately 1.5 hours for completion. I ordered smothered chicken with sides and chicken and dressing with sides for dine in. I also ordered a perch dinner for carry out and requested preparation of that dinner shortly before we left. I paid for our food, totaling approximately $45.00 and the cashier requested I take my seat and stated she would bring a "set up" to our table. After approximately 45 minutes our food arrived and the cashier, now waitress brought two small juice cups filled with ice for water, a fork and a couple of extremely thin napkins. I noticed a water dispenser and filled our cups with water. I noticed my food was completely covered in gravy (as expected) not only was the chicken salty beyond description, it was also under cooked. I quietly motioned for another waitress (mine was now on the cash register) and expressed my concerns. The waitress asked how she could rectify the situation and I mentioned meatloaf was my preference, but stated I was informed it was not ready. The waitress stated she would check and later returned with meatloaf and fresh sides and corn muffins. The portions were reasonable and the waitress provided amazing customer service. Our original waitress eventually followed up with our table and provided carry out boxes, bags, and the to go order. I checked the order and the perch dinner actually looked like catfish nuggets. The fish was soggy and obviously steamed. I once again motioned for a waitress, displayed the meal and she stated she would return with a fresh dinner. After approximately 30 minutes a gentleman stated our fish would be ready shortly as he walked out the door. While serving another table approximately 15 minutes later our original waitress stated our food "would be up in a minute" I waited approximately 20 minutes and approached the counter. My order was ready, but there was approximately 8 dinners before mine and the young lady mentioned they were all waiting on yams. As my frustration grew I waited patiently. The goal of the day was to have a nice meal with my dad and relax. I experienced anxiety, not only, from the lack of organization, but also, from the overall food experience. I commend the front of the house staff for their professionalism, but will not return, or recommend this establishment to anyone.
