I'm at work and we were just talking about restaurants who still give good customer service and we all unanimously agreed that this is one of a few. I frequent them and not only is the food consistently good, but so is the service. One thing...if they're busy, expect a long hold time on the phone. The food is to die for! It's honestly the only good restaurant in Maple Heights that isn't fast food. Even though Maple Heights is mostly a food desert, this is the one place I invite all non-locals too. I've had almost all of their dirty fries selection and their polish boys and each are always hot and delicious. It's honestly pleasure food-- heavy on the carbs but never greasy or leaving a bad feeling. The portions are all just big enough to leave a bite left over, and even though you're full you leave always wanting more for the next meal. It's undescribably delicious although you probably have to be a cheese enthusiast to enjoy most of their options. (If you aren't, I'd recommend basic fries slathered in Sweet Jesus sauce). There's parking, and everytime I've been there everyone is ALWAYS bright and amiable. The one down side, which got especially worse with the pandemic is the wait time, but they're very upfront about it and very accurate with their adjusted time. Even though they're fully staffed, it just takes time. You will never see someone on their cellphones or just working at 10%. Usually, it's best to order in person which has a 5-10 minute wait. Then it'll take no more then 20 minutes (which they can bring to your car). You can wait inside, but honestly... might as well just sit in your car comfortably. Additionally, it's faster to go in person to order versus on the phone/online. You might be on hold for a longer time unless you manage to catch them at a slow time (because truthfully they are always helping write in orders). I once called 10 mins before they opened (which they did pick up), but they were already slammed when I arrived. read more

The chicken wings here was medium size with a nice flavor. The waffles were made with a homemade style batter. The food took an extremely long time to finish cooking. The cajun fries looked meh as they were regular thick cut fries with cajun flavor on them. Other than the waffle, the only thing that really stood out here to me was the Jar of Super Sweet Kool-Aid. Mr. Wonderful's wasn't all that wonderful. I'm from the south and was hoping to remedy some homesickness with some comfort food and fried chicken, but the food is not great at all. I ordered the waffle with chicken tinders and Sweet Jesus sauce. The waffle was soggy and drenched in butter, the chicken was dry and over cooked, and their "famous Sweet Jesus sauce" is just honey with pepper and herbs in it. Definitely didn't feel great after eating here. There were less than 5 people in the restaurant when I ordered and it took 50 minutes to get my food. Nearly everyone I saw while waiting on my food was waiting on a pickup order. I can see why this might be a step above fast food if you live nearby and don't have the time to cook. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. Despite the poor food quality, the cashier was very nice to my friends and I. Apparently there was a problem with the waffle maker during our visit (though I'm skeptic as to why a chicken and waffle store only has one waffle maker) and she kept us updated and brought my friend (who waited another hour longer than me) extra food to apologize. I ordered the perch and shrimp dinner with two sides; the shrimp were the cheap frozen butterfly Shrimp; the perch were 3 small pieces that equal 1 large piece; mac N cheese was fair. Also ordered 10 wings and fry, Wings were very small; they should have gave 20 wings to make up for the small size. They are buying the cheapest products and selling them for a premium price. I recently moved back to Ohio after living in Arizona for the past, well, let's just say it's been a long time. Anyway, there was a place in Arizona that had chicken and waffles and I was curious if there was anything like that around here. Well, didn't find much on here before and it just so happpened that yesterday my Mom, Aunt and - were out and about checking out some specialty grocers on the westside and while checking out the old neighborhoods and low and behold, near the intersection of Lee Rd and Libby, I see Mr. Wonderful's. Well my Mom and Aunt thought I was a little nuts when I said how good chicken andwaffles were and now I know where to come back and try. Well, next thing I know we are pulling into the parking lot. Yeah, how exciting. Huge menu! Awesome choices! Eat there in the decent sized, very clean dining area or take out. We ate there. We each ordered the 1 waffle with 4 tenders and of course had to get the Sweet Jesus glaze on the chicken. When the food arrived, it was nice and hot. 4 sectioned belgain waffle with the Sweet Jesus glazed tenders on top along with hot syrup. Well, I was in heaven and my Mom and Aunt were pleasntly surprised. While we savoring our food, a gentleman, who I assume was an owner came over and asked how we were enjoying our food. Told him very much so! he asked if we had tried the honey bun cheesecake. Told him no, that this was our first visit. Well, next thing you know, he brought a piece over for us to try. OMG! Amazing! it reminded me of a cinnamon crumb coffee cake. The cheesecake was smooth and not too tangy like some can be. Will so go back again and try some of their other menu items.
