As soon as my flight landed the driver was communicated with me. The driver even told me that my luggage carousel had changed before the airline did. Now this does cost more than a Uber or Lyft, but factoring in time and not having to search for your driver, the extra cost can be justified. I had an early morning flight and it was nice and peaceful. Also, I really enjoyed the music they played in the terminal during the morning hours: Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Erroll Garner, Paul Mauriat, etc.

It struggles to handle the demands during any modestly busy times. I watched with disappointment as they forgot my order. Accidents happen, and I truthfully wasn't too mad or unpleasant about it. I requested an update on my order after about 30 minutes of waiting and it took them another 5 minutes or so to finish. Apparently, my experience wasn't unique. This is fine, stuff happens. But then the staff chose to talk trash about me for no reason. I'm still confused because I genuinely wasn't rude in the slightest to them.

Everything from the front lobby to the elevators to the rooms were VERY outdated. I was scared of the elevators. They moaned and groaned and made a sudden small "drop" when it first starts moving. At first, I thought the room was cute. But then started noticing the little things. The bed was small, only had 2 pillows (most hotels have 4), the blanket was thin and scratchy. There were fuzzies and hair in the sheets (of the bed and sofa bed). The sofa had stains. We needed it for a bed. The sheets didn't fit. We had to go down to the office and switch them out. The blanket they give you with it is also old and scratchy. Both beds were extremely uncomfortable. The furniture was oddly placed. The bed against one wall, so one of us had to climb in from one side or the end of the bed. That wall also contained two small (dirty) windows. The dresser/TV stand was on another wall completely covering a window. (I know there wasn't an ocean view, but found it weird.) The kitchenette and bathroom were ok. Outdated, but ok. The floors were disgusting. Once shoes were off, our socks were black. I threw them out when we got home. It was hard to sleep at night. There was a clock that ticked. Who has that kind of clock anymore? I didn't want to yank out the batteries or anything because I didn't want to be accused of breaking it. But trying to sleep with the "tick tock clock" drove me nuts! Then there was the fighting. Not something the hotel could control. But there was a couple fighting in another room on the floor and it was getting intense. We were walking down the hall and hurried into our room. Thankfully, we were only really there to sleep. I asked my family if they wanted to go to another hotel but they didn't want me to waste my money. We won't be back.

If you read my first review, it's nothing but great things to say about the hotel. Recently, I was in need of a retreat. I didn't think of the gulf coast, or northern FL in the woods, or the Keys. I thought of a place close to my heart without hesitation, even though I had not been years. I thought of Cassadaga. So, I decided to stay at The Cassadaga Hotel. Just like my very first stay here, I planned to stay two days and ended up staying for several. On account of a few different reasons. I wanted to continue on my spiritual journey; I wanted to see deeper into the hotel that I had grown to love... I wanted to just "experience." And I did. Cassadaga itself is its own entity for another review, but it's a breath of fresh air. Amongst this Cassadaga fresh air is also a different kind of "air" from the hotel...open arms. From the moment I walked in to book a room until the moment I drove out of the driveway a week later, I was enveloped in that feeling of genuine care and dedication to my happiness as a guest. From the owner Diana, who's impeccable dedication and love for her employees, & the hotel was apparent from the moment you met her. She was even so professional and such a role model to her employees as to what customer service is all about. They have no afterhours guest services. She was having dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel. She went out of her way to make sure my son and I were comfortable by having our room switched. This is what I call A+ unblemished service. To the women who worked at the lovely store, Chrissy and Dawn, inside the hotel and the front desk were so delightful, even when things got busy. They were able to maintain composure and kept their cool. I send out my appreciation and recognition to them! Not an easy job to do! Customer service can be a hard line of work. Their onsite maintenance man, Phillip, was very kind in offering to help carry in my bags for me. He has put a lovely water garden on their front lawn, quite gorgeous. I also had the pleasure of getting to know two of the psychics in house as well, Laura and Angela. Not only are they two charming women, but they are also the real deal. If you want a reading at Cassadaga Hotel, they have great psychics/mediums on board. I would like to thank Kim and Laura from housekeeping. They are some of the most hardworking women I know on site. Their smiles and genuine positive attitudes in their interactions with me while doing the arduous task of cleaning up after every guest inspired me to have a good morning every day! It is certainly fun walking around and you can have a psychic reading as well. This is not your Hilton but if you want a fun and unique trip this is the place to go. The staff here is very friendly and attentive.
