The food is really good- it comes out hot and the ingredients are fresh. Service is also always great and even on a busy day (like in Mother's Day when I went), they are attentive to tables/customers. It's truly a hidden gem on Fowler/in Tampa!

As a Turkish native, and with a husband who has experienced the food in Türkiye firsthand, we were thrilled to find a place in Tampa offering a traditional Turkish breakfast spread. Angora did not disappoint! We arrived around noon on a Sunday and were seated quickly. We ordered the Breakfast for 2 and, coming hungry after the gym, we added a Lahmacun just in case. The breakfast spread was incredible. The cheeses, tomatoes, and cucumbers were fresh and flavorful, and the baked breads were delicious. The breakfast also comes with a full pot of Turkish tea (enough to fill our glasses 6+ times!). For the egg dish, we chose the Menemen, and it was genuinely as good as what I make at home--which is saying a lot. We ended up taking more than half the Lahmacun home because the portions were so generous, but it was baked to perfection. The restaurant is very clean with an open-concept kitchen where you can see the chefs at work. We will definitely be back!

My friend and I decided on this restaurant because it had such great reviews and we wanted something new as we are about an hour away and was just in town shopping.. As we walked in, we could tell that this was an authentic restaurant because of the decorations, the atmosphere, and the staff. We were definitely impressed by the amount of guests who were there and we were confident in our choice as we sat down. We were directed to a table and then were asked to wait while they wiped it down, no biggie, I appreciated the heads up. We were approached and our drink orders were taken promptly. We were impressed by the selections on the menu and actually had a hard time deciding because so many things look good and we were starving. We finally decided on several things, which was way too much for the two of us. I've included pictures below of the lentil soup, the cheese straws, the chicken Alana, and the Turkish tortellini with cream sauce. I personally thought the lentil soup was the best thing I had. The cheese straws were the second best. The other food belonged to my friend which she said was good. We each took our food home and plan on eating the leftovers so it must've been good. A couple of downsides, one of which couldn't be helped on their part. The first was there was a leak because of heavy rain storm and they promptly move us to a table with profuse apologies and wouldn't even let us move our own stuff. So actually, I guess that's a good thing. The second downside is that we had to wait a long time to get our check and my friend actually had to get up to get boxes herself, and we never got a refill of water. Those are really the only things that kept us from giving it a five star, but I recommend that you give us a try if you like authentic Mediterranean food for sure go! I had

I wanted (Turkish) stuffed grape leave. After reading some reviews and headed to Angora. I was not disappointed! Everything was delicious, staff was very friendly, as well. I liked ot so much, I brought friends and family back...a few hours later! We'll be back when we're in town!

Food was sensational. Missing Mediterranean from home, we traveled to Tampa from the reviews and menu. Authentic as can be. Great Service from AJ. The inside is casual with TVs and open kitchen. There are booths and tables for your liking. This place does UNBELIEVABLE takeout. In a plaza you'd think it wasn't there. Once you find it, you will NOT be disappointed.

Celebrated my pre-birthday tonight at Angora with some family and close friends. It was a purely wonderful experience! The waiter was modest, precise, and friendly and the food was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! I am a huge Mediterranean food junkie and had never tried this place but had it on my bucket list of restaurants to visit in Tampa. I'm glad my husband chose this place because I was impressed from the minute I walked in. The pricing was great for the amount of quality food served. Super clean restaurant and a must try, if you're in my neck of the woods! You won't regret it!

The minute I walked in, I was greeted by the owner and sat in a nice booth. Several friends joined and we ate and talked for hours, trying lots of great stuff. The bread was the freshest to table I've had in years. We met a really nice group of people from Syria and they literally shared a piece of something from their table and stories from their home. The vibe is really nice, not stuffy, and reservations are a snap.

Angora open not long ago. The restaurant is well furnished with nicer furniture. The kitchen is viewable from dining room. The menu is about 4 pages. For the drink I recommend the Turkish sprite. My friend said the taste is different. We got the kibbeh to start. This is a fried stuff meat in the dough. I think the coating is a bit hard. We also got grape leaves stuff with the rice and pine nut. I also think this item is just average. For main entrees. We got the mixed grill for two and the chef special mixed grill. Since we have 7 people in the group, I think the portion will be enough for all of us. These two items are similar except the chef special come with fresh dough bake in oven with the mixed grill protein in the cover dough. It look spectacular when it open up. The rice is taste better for it. I like meat that comes with it. They are delicious.

I truly hate to say this, but.... I was so disappointed in this food. The best thing that I had were the cheese roll ups. And all that is is wonton paper and cheese. I'd like to start this by saying I have had flavorful Mediterranean food before this did not hit the spot at all. The dishes lacked spice my Mediterranean ravioli came out late and lack flavor. The meat on the inside of the little pockets was good, but it just tasted like bland dough with little meatballs on the inside that I got after the person I was with had already finished half of their chicken, Gyro (because they forgot to cook mine). While I was waiting for my food to come, my waitress was at the counter eating away at her food lol. The pictures may look pretty, but yeah, it just wasn't great. The first picture in the description specifically said that it was supposed to be spicy. It quite literally had no spice. You just tasty acidity of the tomatoes the herbs and that's it not even any salt

Such an amazing spot in the heart Temple Terrace. The food is delicious the service is excellent, we had the best waiter ! The prices are great and there is a fun lunch which is only happening in the weekends for 2 or 4 people! We will be coming back for sure .

    Hot appetizer sampler

My hubby told me about this place when we were wondering where to go for Dinner so We went along with our 12 yr old son and guest from overseas. The place is nice and clean and the server ( Anas) was so welcoming and extremely helpful. I wanted a sampler of hot appetizers, he made it happen, then we got the cold appetizer sampler. My husband ordered a pizza like appetizer and for the main meal we order the fest for 4 that had a bed of rice and all sit of meats on top all covered with the piping hot Turkish bread, Anas cut it out and the steam just came out with heavenly smells. We had kunafeh for dessert and Turkish coffee ( my picky 12-year-old son had French fries ). Go try this place, the food is to die for and the service is amazing.

Great food. Great service. Going into detail is not needed, just eallt there. I would suggest the mixed grills for 2 (3 of us split one) and we got the cold appetizer and falafel. The hummus is amazing.

The only miss for me was the raw white part of the green onions in the salad, they were a bit too chunky for my taste. The chicken, though? Perfectly grilled...crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. It came with a tzatziki sauce that was more on the liquidy side, which isn't my favorite texture, so I just used it as a dip for the chicken and hummus. Heads-up: the menu on their official site isn't updated, but if you Google "Tasty Mediterranean," it shows accurate prices and lets you order online. It came out to $17.99 plus tax , which is a little pricey for lunch, but the portions were solid and the staff were super friendly so no complaints there!

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. In the spirit of expanding our culinary pallet, we ordered two apps that were new to us. The Kebbeh was very good - i'd say similar to a meat hush puppy? Krispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The Baba Ganju was different than what I was expecting and not something I personally liked (not any fault to the dish, I'm just a texture person). The chicken shawarma and gyro platter (it's a platter at dinner) were FANTASTIC! Seriously, so much flavor, fresh, the meat was not overly cooked. Everything tasted very fresh and we seriously had no complaints!! We also ordered a side of Batata, which are sort of crispy potato cubes with chili flakes + garlic - so good! I will say when we got there, there was a mishap and we waited over 20 minutes to be greeted and introduced to our server after we sat down. Once our server realized we were in her section, the rest of our service was amazing! I think that was just a one off fluke, and I would not let it negatively impact my experience.

My brother got the chicken kebab and also thought the chicken was bland. My girlfriend got the gyro (also served deconstructed) and we both thought it was the best dish but also nothing special. We had a 6:30 PM reservation and the restaurant was fairly empty (about 4-5 tables occupied), yet we were seated at a very small two-top directly next to another couple where we could clearly hear each other's conversations. Several larger tables nearby remained empty the entire evening. When I asked about moving, we were told the tables were reserved and we'd need to leave by 8:30 PM ~ yet we stayed until 9:40 PM and those tables were never used... Service started off slow. No one greeted us for about 20 minutes until we waved someone over. When our server, Briana, arrived, she asked if we had been helped, which made it seem like there was a lack of communication between the host staff and servers. Food was okay: the branzino with grilled vegetables was very good, but the octopus was extremely tough and chewy. My plate was also chipped on both the left and right sides, which was surprising considering how expensive the dinner was. Drinks were fine, just a bit too sweet. What really caught me off guard was the automatic 20% gratuity added to a two-top. The most expensive restaurants in Tampa don't even do it and this is not Miami. Overall, not a terrible experience ~ but not one that makes me eager to return.

The hummus itself was good, but the portion was extremely large, and the pita bread that came with it was very thin and tasted a little stale. The French fries were really good. One thing they could improve on is the food presentation. Our plate had all the chicken piled on the bottom, fries on top, and the pita bread laid over everything, which felt a bit odd visually. The restaurant has a lot of potential, but the menu could benefit from being expanded a bit. There's also a mixed meat option on the menu priced at $200, which feels very high for the area. That said, the outside patio is really cute. If you do decide to come and try this place, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside. Overall, good food with room for improvement in service, presentation, and menu variety.
