This sauce is just amazing: perfect mix if tomatoes, garlic, and spices. And the sauce is just thick enough to stay on pasta. Would definitely come back! For a date: I was on a quiet evening. It can definitely sit a lot of people so my guest is it can get noisy. On my night: soft music. Love the soft romantic lighting; feels like we are on a patio at night. I had dinner at Angeline twice while in Trois Rivieres and both experiences were great. When it's nice outside. You definitely want to sit outside. They have a patio out front and an adorable back patio as well. The first visit, I had roast chicken pasta that was really good. I also had a Caesar salad to start. Everyone with me enjoyed their food. The only recommendation would be to have more variety of wines and have them all available. The first night, they had no rosé and the second night, they only had one bottle so we switched to white. The second night, I had a mix of appetizers which was also very good. The pasta from the first night was some of the best I have ever had, though it was heavy. They were busy both nights, but the service was great. I would definitely recommend this spot while in Trois Rivières. read more

This is a great restaurant downtown Trois Rivieres - it's got a fun and funky decor with huge sofa's down the centre of the restaurant that seat six and then two chairs on the end to make 8. There most be 100 pasta's on the menu to choose from...don't know how the chef's manage. This place probably seats 200 and it was jammed. The service was quick given how busy it was, the mains came out right away and everyone enjoyed their meals - the calzones are legendary and the size of a football.....if you finish, i'd be super impressed. read more

The first thing that stands out about Angeline's is the decor of the restaurant and the beautiful waitress'. They have these sofa seating areas in the middle of the floor for large groups but since the place wasn't busy we thought we'd try it for something different but the waitress wouldn't allow us. Instead we had to sit at a table. -1 for service. I ordered the international burger with poutine. The burger was ok. The patties were doubled up and tasted like they were cooked from frozen state, not fresh but it wasn't bad. The poutine was a perfect portion and tasted good. Desserts were presented by the waitress bringing a tray table side of plastic demonstrations of the choices which looked very real. Neat idea. Not a place I'd go out of my way to come back to however the decor really made it stand out from all he rest of the restaurants which were all clustered on the same block. Oh Angeline, how you break my heart for being so far away! Excellent food and excellent service. It was funny to me (being American) that the inside dining area was completely empty. Usually this would be a bad omen, but it was a beautiful day and everyone was packed into the patio area along Rue Des Forges. My waitress spoke little English as I speak no French, but somehow we made it work. The menu surprisingly was in English, but maybe I was just given an English version. I cannot imagine a restaurant in Trois-Riviere not having French menus. I relaxed and watched the people pass while sipping on red wine and enjoying a delicious bruschetta with reduced balsalmic vinager, smoked salmon and capers. Simple and filling. The balsalmic vinegar was amazing. I never tasted anything like it in the US. Hopefully I will get to Italy one day to know what the real deal is like, but I have to imagine this was close. I was in Trois-Riviere on business, as my team members slept I went for a walk-about and decided to eat here. By the time I finished they called and asked me to bring back food. So I ordered 3 pizzas to go. The pizzas are personal size (about 12 inch diameter). I had a bite of one & let me say the crust was the most delicious I've ever tasted! As were the rest of the ingrediants. I devoured the discarded crust. (They cited calorie counting as a reason not to eat the crust) All the food I saw delivered to the tables around me was visually pleasing and I observed only satisfied affects as everyone ate. This is a place I could see myself being a regular if I spent extended time in the area. The price is on the high side ($16.99 Canadian/pizza) but well worth it for the fresh ingrediants. There was a man constructing hand made pasta visible from the inside dining room. You won't see that at Olive Garden! If you're craving Italian fare this place will not disappoint. My friend and I walked into the new Angeline (the second one on boul. des Recollets) on Tuesday evening at 7:45. We'd had bad luck with service at the flagship Angeline (located downtown on des Forges) but the food had been quite tasty and the decor inventive so we decided to give the spinoff a chance. We must have stood there for five minutes while people ate and the waitress tidied up, seeing us but not acknowledging our presence. When I moved toward her she looked at me and snapped, "We're closed". I asked her at what time they closed (I couldn't find a sign posting the hours) and she replied, "Eight o'clock". That's a little early for Trois-Rivieres. If there's one thing for which my hometown stands out it would be awesome and accommodating restaurants. I noticed that Yelp lists Angeline's closing time at 9:00. Service: 0/10. Food: I'll never know. So this is my second review for Angéline, different weekday, different season. Same garbage service. There were several people still dining when we walked in; I was with my friend and a couple came in a few seconds later. It was, once again, 7:45 but on a Wednesday this time. The hostess was more prompt in walking toward us, stating "La cuisine est fermée", and striding away before we could ask questions. Business hours were not posted on the door, but I turned on my trusty Yelp app and saw that hours are still 11 am to 10 pm. I guess they really do want to close. This restaurant was wonderful!! I was apprehensive going into a restaurant alone in a country whose primary language is French, but they had a wonderful English speaking waitress, Genevieve, that made me instantly feel comfortable. I ordered the special which was carrot soup, the pictured salad, crusty rolls, and tea or coffee. Genevieve even made iced tea for me and included a decorative straw. Really nice Italian style restaurant in a very interesting neighborhood. I love the decor, an elegant outside, and a creative, at-home style experiences. We were seated immediately in the main dining room, seated on comfortable couches, very casual but creative. They didn't really publicize their lunch menu, but we still ordered off of it. There are so many food options that I wanted to try, like their freshly made pizza, or their supposedly amazing pastas. This place actually has quite reasonable prices, compared to all other restaurants around. The lunch specials start at $12 and go to less than $20. Service was very professional, being very respectful and quick on their feet. The food was outstanding. Freshly made bread to start, rubbed with olive oil and garlic. Amazing bread, great start to our meal. We all tried the cream of celery soup, which was actually quite good. A small taste of celery behind a delicious broth. For our mains, I got a chicken Caesar salad, which might have been one of the best I have ever had. Crispy noodles on top for presentation and texture, along with fresh leaves of lettuce, prepared in a very creamy, outstanding Caesar dressing, topped with croutons. We also got the pomodoro burger, which was just an Italian-style hamburger. Amazing ingredients used. Garden vegetables, a pomodoro-based burger, ricotta cheese, etc. Very large burger, with amazing flavor. Served with fries. A meal like this brings warmth to your heart and yourself, because it shows how much people care to make your experience noteworthy and spectacular. A standout meal, but I can't really give it 5 stars, since there are a few very minor flaws with the restaurant. But a 4.5 star rating for me! Keep it up! read more

We stopped here for lunch and it ended up being thedark spot on our trip through trois riviers. The food took much too long to be served (during the non busy lunch hour) and once it was served it was cold and had poor quality ingredients. We asked the server what kind of cheese was on the sandwhich - she said it was real cheddar but turns out it was processed, which is not real cheddar. The food had to be sent back to be re heated, which took even longer. When it was brought back they had replaced the full meal which was not only unessecary but still unappetizing. Served water in Plastic water cups which is wasteful, bad for the environment, and looks cheap - especially when there are people eating next to us with real glasses. Excellent restaurant. Good food, wine, service. I was there with a group of friends in June 2017. We arrived in Trois-Rivières on bike earlier in the evening and were very hungry. Angeline was a short walk down the street from our hotel and was exactly what we were looking for. I have one friend who is vegetarian and and another who requires a gluten-free diet.
