Staff are friendly. Prices are reasonable; however, it seems like they are free willy nilly giving vaccines without asking for consent. My dog was given the canine influenza shot ($38) without consent so it seems like a cash grab since it's not one of the core vaccines. Other pet clinics would ask first. My recent experience at Animaid made me decide that I will not bring any of my pets back here. Two of my dogs and my cat has been coming to Animaid. This recent visit, I called them to make an appointment as my cat had UTI symptoms. My cat despises the vet and can become aggressive. I let the receptionist know of this and how he requires sedation so they actually changed my appointment from Saturday to Friday. They informed me that since he requires sedation, it'll be better to come in on Friday. I moved all my work schedule around despite how busy I was to make the Friday appointment work. When I showed up, this kind vet assistant (I don't remember her name but she had colored hair) was able to hold my cat down. She told me another assistant will be shadowing her. This was frustrating because my cat was starting to get aggressive and she seemed very lost and confused and couldn't even input the information into the computer. We had to wait for the vet for another 20 minutes because he was still helping another pet in the other room. After waiting, he comes in to say that there is nothing they can do since he requires sedation. Excuse me? I had informed them from the very beginning when I had made this appointment that he would require sedation. It seemed very unprofessional on their part to make an appointment knowing circumstance and then refusing to assist and provide help. Knowing my cat, he seemed very uncomfortable and it made me upset that I had wasted my time coming here instead of being able to get him the help he needs. Animaid had advertised that they would be able to help, but in the end, they turned us away. As the other reviews stated, Brett is no longer there and it has definitely gone downhill since he left. He truly showed so much love and care to all the animals and was a big reason I liked bringing my pets here. Man last week, I had to put my dog down. Before that, they needed to do a checkup, and I want to be honest -- the first vet we saw lacked some bedside manners. Thankfully, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, which is what made me stay. When it came time to say goodbye, the second vet -- the one who performed the procedure -- was deeply compassionate and handled everything with care. It was an emotional and heavy day, but what really helped us through it all was the staff. I wish I remembered the name of the main staff member who guided us through, because she was incredibly comforting. The way she walked us through every step helped us feel at peace. Now the staff is much harder to work with, costs more for everything. I went there for years, and recently got into a car accident, needed their help to get little Baby over to them, I am very close by. They would not help me get little Baby to them, and it hurts me a lot. Just wanted to make sure she was current with the renewals and safe while I recovered.Tried calling Brett many times, but he's "too busy" to help after over 10 years. Have you ever had to put an animal down? I have, let me tell you it's anything but easy. My experience here wasn't the best. I had to put my cat down today (10 years old). It's hard enough to say bye to my animal ( or what I thought was "bye" at the time) only to realize after the Vet injected the sedation and euthanasia the catheter was never placed correctly. Hearing my cat cry for help is something I will never forget. I understand mistakes happen, but to have to relive the euthanasia again as my cat was in pain is unimaginable. I can understand placing a catheter in an animal must be hard as they move and fight back, however my cat was lifeless. He had no energy to put up any fight. I'm not one to put a business down, but I couldn't help but share my story. This is a pretty unfortunate and devastating mistake to witness. read more

It was my first time here. Although the outcome wasn't what I wanted to happen, I was more impressed by the diligent work of Brett. He called to keep me updated on the status and it helped that he reiterated what Dr Seung explained because when you're stressed out, sometimes your brain isn't exactly panning things out. I brought my new puppy Ruby to see this vet. It was just a well check & to get flea medication. I also scheduled her to get spayed so they did some bloodwork. That was Friday today they called and canceled her surgery bc her bloodwork wasn't good. She had liver enzyme issues. She had been lethargic as a first time pet owner I thought it was the recent heat. But it was her food. I feel terrible. I had been making her food using brown rice, veggies and either mostly chicken or beef. Often she picks out the meat & leaves the rest behind. I put her on Royal Canin two days ago and you can tell she's feeling better. I feel so lucky to have gone to this vet and couldn't be happier with their performance. read more

This new staff is odd and almost forcing everyone to write a review - well you got one, just not what you expected. I will definitely be taking my cats out of this place and finding a new vet. They seemed overjoyed to inform me that they are Brett's replacements and are eager for good reviews. It's such a shame; he was the reason I kept coming here. Always explained things, was patient, knowledgeable and empathized with my pet. The new main tech was cold and robotic and didn't make me feel at ease. I have been this hospital several times, my dog has a Megaesophagus since birth. The Vet never diagnosed the problem, until I took my dog to VCA emergency, I found out his problem. Lately I saw this Vet about his diarrhea problems. The Vet said he is ok. Last week I took my dog to see him again for Constipation, the vet said he did not have a problem. Then the assistant Brett, kept telling me to put the dog to a rescuer and said that if I don't have the money to see a specialist. (This is not the only time he said this). He then said I should order a XRay for his intestine to find out why he wasn't pooping. I told him the Vet said my dog is okay. Why do I need an XRay? What if there is nothing? I asked the how much the XRay would cost? He said $188. The whole time Brett was doing the talking for the Vet. Why was Brett acting a Vet? And kept saying the Vet only do shots and wellness for dogs. No major. Would you go back? I don't think I would. read more

Everytime I come I'm treated so well and so is my dog. They have come to know us and are very respectful, helpful and just genuinely kind. Every single person that works here is that way. Im always comforted when I'm here. They understand my concerns and address every single one no matter what. The doctor explains every action/medication and it's uses. New Dr new staff time to find new No I was told I had to stay 6 feet away and wouldn't be allowed in room. The Dr should be coming out after and discuss anything with us like he would be if it was a "regular" visit. You sure charge the same amount with less service. Unprofessional. Unprofessional! Unprofessional!!! Scam!!! Scam!!! Scam!!! I walked in with my dog and wanted her teeth to be cleaned and for the Vet to check on my dog's well-being. The Vet and whatever the assistant's name stated, my dog has a "mass" on the side of her body that needs to be taken out and she needs to be neutered. They said that everything needed to be done for my dog (teeth cleaning, mass removal and neuter) will cost me anywhere from 1000-1200 dollars. So we scheduled my dog's appointment for the next day keeping in mind the price $1,000-$1,200. Upon arrival the next day, I came in with my dog and told the Vet all I wanted for my dog were to get her teeth cleaned and the surgery to remove the mass, no neutering. To think, maybe the price would drop because I took off one thing. Boy, was I wrong. They just said, okay and to come back later on at 3pm to pick her up. They didn't breakdown to me how the process was going to go for my dog, what they will be doing to my dog, and the pricing for everything. They didn't write down anything nor print out any sort of receipt as to what I should be prepared to pay for. They asked for a deposit which I was told it was going towards the total cost but I later found out it went nowhere towards the total amount of the operations being done for my dog. My son and I showed up to pick up my dog when they called at 445pm. When the Vet and his assistants told us the pricing for everything, we were astounded by how the fuck did it end up OVER $1,200? After being told the total cost for mass removal, teeth cleaning and neutering (which we decided not to do) will be between $1,000-$1,200 and paying the deposit that supposedly went towards the ending price, the total was still OVER the price we were told. They wanted to call the cops on us for asking, "why the fuck is the price so high?" but when we said for them to "call the cops" their attitudes changed. They were scared their crooked ass would get caught for cheating people out of their money!!! The Vet is unprofessional!!! He made up the cost of the operations in his head and when I asked him to print out a receipt for me... it took him and his assistants 30 minutes to print it out. Why does it take that long to print out a fuckin receipt? Oh, is it because you're making up the prices??? Smh! This place is a fuckin' SCAM!!!! read more

I've been coming to this vet for over 10 years. It's conveniently located, usually has generous parking, good hours, and clean facilities. Having had a Frenchie, it was imperative to have a vet familiar with brachycephalic ("flat-faced") breeds and their common problems (skin, respiratory, physiological, and behavioral issues), and Dr. Seung fit the bill perfectly. But what really sets this vet apart is the staff: to the person, each is friendly, compassionate, professional, competent, gentle, and never judgmental (at least within my earshot!). Bret and Ricky have a special place in my heart: they were so good about getting to know me and then working with me to find a reasonable balance between my own vaccination/antibiotics concerns and my dog's (and the law's) health needs. When the day came for my beloved Pig to be put down (one of the hardest decisions I've ever made and easily the saddest day of my life), Bret stayed by my side throughout the process and was so kind, so supportive and comforting, that I will never, ever forget it. Animaid pet hospital is the best thing that happened to me and my furry daughter. Everyone I've spoken to at Animaid is extremely kind, genuine, and caring. Most importantly, they care about your pet. I've met the doctor once and he's a pretty chill guy. Last visit for my pup was a couple weeks ago when I suspected an eye infection. There were additional diagnoses made during the exam and the doctor recommended couple of prescriptions. I received an estimate of what the charges could potentially be and honestly the bill wasn't even that bad in comparison to some other crooks I've been to. The best pet hospital is one that is honest and loves your pet. What more could you ask for? My furry child had her spay surgery today and this whole process couldn't have gone smoother. Honestly, I'm so grateful for Animaid. On my way home I realized I forgot to ask when to start giving her meds only to find out that the discharge instructions, meds, rabies vaccine certificate, and sterility certificate were all neatly tucked inside. Salekaa M.'s negative review doesn't sound right as no vet will schedule any type of surgery the next day after seeing your pet for the first time without bloodwork to make sure everything is ok prior to surgery. Also, medications are always more at the vet because they are not a pharmacy and can't get bulk pricing so it's understandable. Anyone who has been a pet owner for a long time knows this. You simply just have to ask for a prescription to take it to Walmart or Costco if you have a Costco membership. And you have to keep in mind that certain medications will not be available at Walmart or Costco. That's just the reality. There's no reason to get upset because the vet's medication prices are higher. I was referred to Animaid by my sister back in 2020 when I was looking for an excellent, honest, caring and affordable vet in OC after moving back down this way and have only had excellent experiences with all the staff at Animaid and I've been an animal rescuer for 33 years and very picky about vets I will take my pets to see. The vets have been the only ones to diagnose my dog properly and have been very understanding when I let them know I could not afford certain services and will do what they can do to treat with the hope of the best outcome without it causing me great expense. And they have been the only vet who is highly responsive, you can email them, and you don't have to wait two weeks before the vet can see you and your pet. I HIGHLY recommend Animaid. read more

This pet hospital is now our go to. Our 2 year old dog, Cooper, was peeing out blood and we were very concerned. We took him to a vet and he was diagnosed with bladder stones. The vet was super informative and and nice but his pricing was really out of our budget. We were given 2 options. We could take the risk and change his diet and see if the rock shrank (if it was even a struvite stone) or have it surgically removed. We asked how much it would cost and he said a couple thousand. When we got home, we began frantically searching for another hospital with something more within our budget. Luckily we came across Animaid. Not only were they a 10 minute walk from my house, their customer service was superb. Brett took such good care of Cooper. I usually have a lot of anxiety because I'm always afraid our dog might get mistreated, but Brett was so wonderful. My boyfriend was the only one that was able to take Cooper the first two times because I was at work, so when he said he wanted this place to be our new vet, I was skeptical. However, after today, I feel the same way too. I felt so at ease knowing Brett was taking care of Cooper today. He was very informative when explaining the aftercare and medication Cooper would be taking. From the beginning of the day at 8:30am to the end of the day at 4pm, Brett still maintained his cheerful attitude. We really appreciate how friendly and helpful everyone was to us. read more
