Had our first grooming experience by Katrina this week. We had such wonderful service. Our great pyrenes has a thick coat of fur and had not yet shed last winter's undercoat. He was a smelly mess. Not anymore! He is beautifully groomed- fluffy, white and smells fresh. We appreciate Katrina more than we can explain. read more

Our granddog got tangled with a 4-wheeler on a weekend and we needed Emergency Vet Care. We used the Vet Triage system through our local Vet and within minutes we were on the road to Animal Care Center. The Vet and Vet Assistant that met us there were skilled, compassionate, and kept us informed at each step. After the x-rays revealed no broken bones, they cleaned and stitched his wounds, brought him out with his meds and home instructions, he has had a 100% recovery! The facility is clean and well equipped. I'd highly recommend this business. read more

Absolutely fantastic. Brought my 20 year old dog here (we just recently moved to the area). Our dog had a growth on his ear and we found out he would need it removed, which means a lot of his ear will be removed with it. We were so nervous but they definitely made us feel at ease. They texted us right when he got out of surgery and Dr. Sawyer called with an update not much longer after that. I definitely recommend them. So friendly and caring. I cannot wait to be able to pick up my buddy soon! read more

On a scale of 0 to 5 stars, Animal Care Center of Baxter, MN deserves 100 stars. They are incredible. We were traveling cross country when our 12 pound min-pin / chihuahua mix got seriously ill on a Friday. The fantastic staff figured out a way to get us worked in to see Dr. Tyler Fuhrman that day. Dr. Fuhrman listened as we explained the history of the progression of the symptoms, then gave our dog a thorough examination. Based on what we told her, and what she observed during the exam, she suggested a number of tests which we agreed to. The tests ruled out a number of things, but didn't provide a conclusive indication of what was causing the issues, so Dr. Fuhrman consulted with two of the other veterinarians in the practice, and did additional research. Based on this, she suggested a course of treatment. The good news is that the treatment - two different medications - resolved the symptoms. That right there would be enough to warrant an excellent review. But, as they say in the late night infomercials "wait, there's more." As I mentioned, we were traveling, and had to leave the area. One of the medications was a high dose, long term steroid. A staff member, or on occasion, Dr. Fuhrman herself, have been calling regularly, to check on our dog's status, and to call in refills for the steroid as we have continued to travel. This is an exceptional level of care, and for a dog that they will likely never see again, since we live nowhere near Baxter, MN. Like I said... 100 stars! read more

The staff at Animal Care Center is very caring and professional. Whenever my pets have needed treatment, they've offered me several options so I can do what's right for my pet and also what I can afford. They don't pressure you to chose the most expensive option. They also always follow up with you later to make sure you don't have any questions or concerns, and that your pet is doing okay. read more

We are only up here for the summers and every year I have my vet from home send our pets' records to ACC. This is our 5th summer to do this. This year, when the records were sent, they called my home vet to ask why they'd sent them the records. Our pets are on prescription diets plus have a couple medical prescriptions, so I go in there fairly often, yet every single time I go, I have to explain who I am and why I'm there. The last straw was when our cat was sick and I needed an appointment- first I was told they did not have up-to-date records (which I know is not true because they had called my home vet when they received them) and then expected me to wait two weeks for my sick cat to be seen. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Wonderful staff at ACC!!! I brought my 7 yr old German Shepherd who needed to get groomed. We took him there in the beginning of autumn so he was in between coats and shedding heavily. Being a new client I called them up to setup an appointment and they got me in on the same day. They were very friendly from the moment I walked in. We started to fill out the new client form and they do request proof of vaccinations which is no problem and had my vet fax them right away, However they did not receive anything from my vet so instead they called the vet to affirm the vaccinations for my dog. But the initial form is one page and took about 2 minutes to fill out for contact information. Once done, I was able to meet with Sandy one of the groomers. She listened to everything I had to say and was confident in the cut I wanted for my dog. She informed me about the time my dog would be ready and reconfirmed the number she can reach me at. 20 mins before the est time for the grooming I get a call to reassure the time of pickup. I picked up my dog and he looked excellent, better than I ever expected. Sandy said my dog did great but had slight anxiety that led to acute diarrhea for the last hour, but she got him cleaned up and was very nice about it. Sandy also recommend some medicine for ear build up that my dog was having, its been an on and off issue and she offered helpful advice to treat it. The staff were nothing but smiles and professional attitudes. They certainly do care about your animal and they try to make it the best possible experience for you and your pet. For the care and service, their prices are very reasonable. Highly Recommended!! read more
