I wanted to check with a regular vet first before I took Ferby to the ER. His glucose were very high. It was to the point were I can't manage it. They recommended me to take him to the ER. The Vet was very nice and compassionate. I had to do a 25$ deposit on the phone to secure my spot. Which I did not mind because it was an emergency.

But where they shine for us was in there compassionate care toward the end of their lives. He had severe hair knots on the back of his rear legs, and I could tell he was in pain. We were assigned to Dr. Hansen. Wow we hit a homerun on this place and the doctor! I gave him the medicines as instructed and they still could not get his blood drawn for a heart worm test and wanted to keep him all day and fully sedate him which I said no to and told them I would elsewhere. Additionally this is after I was the VCA care club plan and now have to pay several more months and they wanted to charge $167.10 for the Heartworm Test. I took him to another vet and they were able to get his blood drawn for the heartworm test without any medication. The new vet was less expensive for the office visit and heartworm test than what VCA wanted to charge for just the heartworm test.

They don't care if my cat dies, I have to bring him into the office and pay for an office visit for the prescription!!! Also, IF the particular doctor is not in the office when your animal needs them, the other doctors cannot call in a prescription for your animal!!

Both Dr. Hightman and Dr. Sadderson are not only knowledgeable but also compassionate and I've always felt my pets were in the very best hands with them. I've had lots of medical things come up with my Doberman and she's always been taken care of and all problems have been resolved. From anemia, to injuries, to random issues. I've seen some reviews mentioning rude front staff but that has never been my experience. Every time I've come in, the staff has been kind, helpful and welcoming. I think it's important to remember that kindness goes both ways. if you treat people with respect, you're much more likely to get it in return. Even if someone has a bad day, maybe just be kind regardless and see how that shifts the tone.
