I took my son's cat because he had to go out of town. Poor thing is allergic to fleas and was in a mess. The meds and shot did great for her and her fur is returning and she now comes out and plays. This used to be my go to vet clinic for years but the recent service has continued to decline rapidly. 1, the double charged me for the same vaccine on one occasion. (They did fix this but I had to catch it) 2, they gave my dog more vaccines than requested. (Gave me a credit for my next visit, although they shouldn't have messed up on something so big) 3, they didn't prescribe my dog the needed medications for an ear infection due to nursing and when done nursing, they wanted me to pay for another visit. So they wanted to double charge me for the same service that wasn't fully treated. It's clearly all about the money for them. I would advise don't go here. My dog started having skin sores in Feb 2025. Took him into his wellness annual and told the vet about it. She said he needed to be bathed more often.....uh excuse me but that's bullshit. He is bathed once a month. she completely blew it off. so this continues and worsens for the next 2 months. took him in again. she didn't look at his skin, didn't take any scrapings, just put him on antibiotics. it went away for about 2 months and then came back with a vengeance. By that time I said the hell with these idiots and took him to Great Oaks Vet Clinic. OMG! Great Oaks Vet... they took skin scrapings and he had bacteria AND yeast infections and was on meds for 4 wks! My vet at Great Oaks put him on antiseptic shampoos, concentrated fish oils and probiotics to prevent this from flaring up again next spring. I am so furious at the lack of care from Animal Care Clinic. They are completely incompetent. HENSLEY was our vet there. She is worthless!! Beware! I had a very sick cat that needed treatment but instead I got a disinterested vet that refused to look at my cat and proceeded to tell me she was fine and take her in if she gets worse.. Only to later find out the cat was pregnant, had two deeply infected eyes that needed to be removed and on top of that she had a tapeworm infestation. After going to this vet office for over 15 years, I discovered that the office manager dictates how service is rendered. I ask to speak with Dr. King who took care of my dog for the last 5 years and had set an appointment for my dogs annual shots today 11/03/2025. The office manager called me 1 hour before my dog's appointment and canceled my appointment. I wanted to discuss with the vet my last service and interaction with this office manager. I called back to speak with my vet and they refused to let me speak with the vet today 11/03/2025. If your vet doesn't want feed back about services that were provided, I would suggest you look to a vet office who respects their owners pet and the service rendered. I would tell you to avoid this company known as thrieve as they are about the money and not your pets health. We have doctored at Animal Care Clinic with our male black lab/Pitt mix for 6 years and have absolute trust in the entire staff. They are very caring, compassionate, and gentle. Rocky has received wonderful care for routine check ups, seasonal allergies, ear infections, and after care for bacterial meningitis (initial treatment at an emergency clinic). Most recently he had surgery (a gastronomy) to remove fabric/string he swallowed after chewing up part of a cat scratching post. The staff was so supportive and kind to us and Rocky received excellent surgical answers post surgical care. We will continue to bring Rocky here and highly recommend this location to others. read more

The front desk and communication are awful here. We love Dr. Hensley! We however do not love the way we were treated the last time we tried to make a sick appt for our pet. I attempted to make an appt when my dog has a bloody nose and was extremely sick. I was told to use the televet, when I let them know I had a request in for over 24 hours in the televet. The nurse opened the case and closed it without reviewing it rather than admit they missed the request. Then never called back or followed up. When I called the lady was nasty on the phone and could care less about my dog being sick. The clinic is great for shots ext but when your pet is sick there is NEVER an appt or anyone that cares about it or you have to pay an extra fee to be seen soon. Sadly with an elderly dog I feel we will have more sick visits and I don't want the stress of being treated poorly added to having a sick animal. read more

I LOVE Dr. Jill and the entire crew at ACC!!!! She's funny, down to earth and just all around cool...and so is her entire team. They're just fun people to chat with in general. They are definitely pet people in the same way we are and do everything they can to take care of my girls. About 2 years ago my sassy cat Jazmine, who is 18, started on a downward slide as older cats often do. I tasked Dr. Jill with making sure she didn't pass or I would lose my mind, and I didn't give her any other options. Here we are, 2 years later and she is still going strong today! She even gained a little weight. And my sweet lil 15 yr old, Missy, is healthy as a horse with no sign of slowing down either. In docs for my family I tend to look for functional medicine practitioners so when Dr. Jill went back to school to add the homeopathic side to her practice, I was thrilled. When I got my pup Apollo I was looking for a vet in the near area. Service is great and on time. The last couple of times he has been seen by Dr. Hensley. Dr. Hensley has been awesome and so informative. I've yet to meet her in person due to curbside only being offered but over the phone she is great. She takes her time answering questions and offering helpful info. I do look forward to meeting her one day in person. Typically he is seen quickly and we are given all information needed for discharge. We also get reminder phone calls prior to visit and follow up calls day after. We love the doctors, front desk staff? Not so much. It took me 2 weeks to get them to send a prescription to PetMeds. They 'said' they faxed it twice, not so. Got on the phone with them, they said 'We're calling PetMeds pharmacy right now, goodbye" Not so, they never called. Still no prescription. I finally had to call PetMeds and ask them to call the vet, which isn't really their job. PM got it straight and refill was approved and shipped same day. It took them all of 10 minutes. We'd been feeding a stray cat for several weeks when one morning, she showed up in distress with a terrible wound on her right rear hip. Not wanting to leave her outside for infection to take over, we brought her inside for her morning meal. We then began calling local veterinarians, knowing it was a long shot to get an appointment on short notice. Like the other veterinarians we called, Animal Care Clinic was fully booked for the next several days -- however, unlike all the others, they made an effort to fit us in to their schedule, given the severity of this cat's wound. They saw us within the hour. The cat's treatment took several days, and we got regular updates from Lauren, who not only described the wound's healing progress, but the emotional state of the cat as well. At this point, we'd made a commitment to adopt this cat and so news of how she was accepting the treatment was comforting. In addition to the updates from Lauren, we got a call from Dr. King, who was amazing. She immediately understood the dynamic of a new cat with an injury and gave perfect advice on not only what treatment to follow, but what we should and should not do when we brought the cat "home." She covered everything from wound care to bonding with our new friend. Everything she suggested worked out and the wound is now almost fully closed; infection never became a concern, thanks to Dr. King. We're so thankful for Dr. King, Lauren, and the staff at Animal Care Clinic, who helped us to heal and adopt our beautiful new young cat. If you really love your pet (and I know you do) and only want the very best care from an honest animal clinic, then this is the place for you. My fur babies and I had come here for the last 4 years (I recently had to put my last pet to sleep). I don't plan on getting anymore animals in the near future, but if I did, I would come back here in a heartbeat! I can only speak from my experience with Dr. K. & Dr. Jill because they were the only ones who treated my pets on a consistent basis. Both of my pets were purebreds, a Bengal cat & a Mini Schnauzer. Dr. K. & Dr. Jill were extremely knowledgeable about both breeds & what types of issues they can have & how to address them. They were so good about educating me in regards to what was going on with either pet. They explained things so that I was able to really understand what I was dealing with. They always gave me the best and worst case scenarios. They never pressured me or tried to sway me one way or the other. They laid out my options & always let me make the final decision. Then, they respected & supported my decision. They were sensitive to my financial situation & never tried to upsell me or take my money unnecessarily. They were available to me by phone and/or email, which during this last year and a half of Covid, meant the world to me. I was always in the loop even though I hadn't been able to go into the exam room with my babies. When it came time for me to make the difficult decision to put my pets to sleep, I was fully informed about what to expect during the process. Dr. K. was the one who was with me during this time with my Bengal & my Schnauzer. She took her time & then let me spend the time that I needed with each one, to say my final good-byes. I could go on and on about how amazing Dr. K. & Dr. Jill are in my opinion but I honestly believe that you couldn't go wrong with anyone who works at this clinic. I can't complete this review without praising the rest of the staff here who have become like family to me and will forever live in my heart!! The assistants that work in the back with the vets are also amazing. Suzy & Nathalie are the assistants that I met with the most but I have found all of them to be very kind, compassionate, and loving towards me & my babies. They are a wonderful source of comfort when it's needed the most. The staff at the front desk are also kind, compassionate, patient, loving and understanding!!! Again, I have to say that Tricia, Trish & Lilly are the ones who I've had the pleasure getting to know the best but you will be in good hands with anyone here. I would advise against visiting this location. My dog Charlie and I visited there last week and they charged us $800 for an x-ray, which felt rushed. They never looked at him or did a physical in front of us. We called the vet on Saturday to ask what else we should do for my dog, who continued to feel sick. They did not pass us to the vet and told us to take him somewhere else to an emergency clinic. They don't care about patients or owners. All they care about is charging us. The purpose of this review is to prevent others from making the same mistakes we did. I am a recent transplant to Round Rock, and my first order of business was to find a great vet for my two dogs, Cookies and Voodoo. They are both seniors, highly anxious dogs, and both the vet tech, Asia, and the doctor, Dr. Hedler, did their best to keep the dogs calm during their appointment. Voodoo poops when she's scared (I am sooooo sorry, I can't take this dog anywhere) and everyone was very professional and easy-going about the mess she made. Dr. Hedler went as far as wiping my dogs' butts to negate their smelly anal glands. She gave me great advice about how to help one dog lose weight, and Asia gave us thorough advice about vaccinations and preventions that are highly recommended here in TX. Both my dogs have some dental issues and Dr. Hedler is the first vet we've ever been to who actually went in and examined their teeth prior to the dental appointment. She was calm and gentle with them, and was able to get into their mouths - no other vet has tried more than a few seconds to look. I am so happy we've found Dr. Hedler and the great team at this clinic. We look forward to having a great relationship with everyone! read more

I love Dr Jill - However do NOT purchase their Pet Insurance Program!!!! I carried the insurance for 3 years making monthly payment, during which period we only had healthy dog visits. When the policy was purchased I was sold on the fact that it could be canceled at anytime. I was recently diagnosed with Cancer & had to move North to be close to family, thereby forcing me to cancel the pet insurance. After having paid over $1200 (over 3 years), I am being told I owe them an additional $130? I have asked twice for an itemized detail of those charges, which I have yet to receive. Instead of providing the requested detail, they have started to accrue late fees (I question if this legal?). The individual responsible for collection on this pet insurance, is a bulldog (actually bulldogs are nicer). She calls while I am in treatment at the hospital (but it is not possible to respond with voice mails for her after hours), she also sends emails ( but her email inbox is full, making it impossible to respond to her emails). During a period when I am fighting for my life/health I really don't need this woman's bu!!$h!++. Honestly, I find it shocking that someone as extraordinary & kind as Dr Jill would associate her business with someone as unprofessional & rude as the individual responsible for their pet insurance program? read more

We see Dr. Hensley and have been please with her treatment on our animals... This review is about the rest of the staff, especially the front office staff! Unfortunately they are not in the business of customer service and have been extremely rude when calling to schedule appointments, and really all interaction in general. This last appointment was the second time the front office has sassed off to my husband and been unprofessional in their attitude. Even though the doctor said we do not need to schedule an appointment for a nail trim, we do because of a prior attitude problem. So upon scheduling this appointment I told the lady on the phone that we needed a morning appointment before 11, because my husband works at 11:30. She said 11 on Friday was the soonest. Scheduled that, and he brought our dog in at 10:45. Upon arrival he called and requested curbside. They never came. He called to make sure they knew he was still waiting and they said they were aware they were running a little late for the 11 appointment. My husband continued waiting and then received a text to bring our dog inside (guess they forgot about the curbside). The goes in and continues to wait. At 11:15 he asks if anyone is coming to get our dog for her 11 appointment. The front office then begins to argue with him that her appointment was at 11:10 and they are only a little late. Why would they feel free to change an appointment just to suit their schedule, when I was perfectly clear that the latest we could schedule was 11. Again this is the second time we've had a horrible interaction with the front desk. The first time it was because they didn't want us to bring our dog in for a nail trim without an appointment, even though the doctor said we could. They then cut her nails too short they bled, and told us our dog needed to go to pet smart to get her nails trimmed. A huge turn off!! Guess we'll be looking for another vet. Too bad since we referred a lot of friends to this place. read more

We were fortunate enough to have our fur babies be seen by Dr Hensley when she was at a precious location and we are willing to drive anywhere in Austin to have her and the staff take care of our three cats and three dogs! Talking to them about what each appointment will cost is like opening a toll bill... actual cost was $3.00 and you have to pay $37 because of fees. This is how I feel every time I go here. BEWARE!!! MONEY HUNGRY!!! We brought one of dogs here because of chronic ear infections, asked that this establishment would get our records from our previous vet. They insisted on running more tests that we had just had done to diagnose bacterial infection. Sent us home with antibiotics, flush, and follow up appt. We come back to follow up charged another office visit, other fees and more ear flush , scheduled for another follow up visit which brings us to exactly one month 1k later... we scheduled a new puppy check up and shots for our new member. I show up and staff seemed frazzled. They go to the back, I'm assuming to speak with doctor... they said I was late for the appt and there would be a 20 dollar fee to work in my puppy. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I just paid 450 to them not even 48 hours prior and it was a insult that I was asked to pay fee... come to find out they canceled the appointment because I didn't respond to the Sunday text for my Monday appointment that was confirmed on Saturdays follow up for my first dog. MONEY HUNGRY!!! I will not patronize this establishment had my pets records transferred immediately. read more
