A year later my wife and daughter bring our new puppy in for a first check up....and they brought them all into the room where they put our dog down. Absolute low class and zero thought and we had to talk our 9 year old down from that. The Horror. So new dog fully grown, I say hey are you charging us more fore these meds because we come in, because other retailers are much cheaper. "Oh, well if you use our online shop we price match...." -front desk 3 freaking years of buying one at a time and NO ONE told us they ever had an online shop. I come to find out, because we did what they ask, "just come in get her weight and we will give you her meds right there" was a a 30.00 clip for every dose!!! The robbery.

(They did fix this but I had to catch it) 2, they gave my dog more vaccines than requested. (Gave me a credit for my next visit, although they shouldn't have messed up on something so big) 3, they didn't prescribe my dog the needed medications for an ear infection due to nursing and when done nursing, they wanted me to pay for another visit. So they wanted to double charge me for the same service that wasn't fully treated. It's clearly all about the money for them. I would advise don't go here. The manager Addy is absolutely no help.

Dr Sam Seramur was his doctor and was very comforting and gave us plenty of time to be with him before and after the procedure. Brady never turned down food so when they brought in chicken, he gobbled it down and although it immediately came back up, he enjoyed that last meal. The tech who gently removed his body wrapped in blankets was so kind and it meant a lot when he said that he could tell we were good dog parents. I hope no one reading this has to ever go through this but if you do, I recommend this caring business .

When I mentioned that my dog was cold while we were in the waiting room, a technician brought him a blanket. The vet was kind when he came to talk to me about my dog and then later his test results. The medication the vet prescribed had my dog eating later that same day, and back to his regular self in a couple days. I am very grateful to the care the staff provided Rocky and me.

We have 3 dogs and 2 cats, so we've tried out a lot of vets and spend more time in these offices than we'd like. This is by far the best vet we have ever found. The staff is always cheerful and welcoming. You can tell everyone here truly cares about the animals. And to top it off, the prices are incredibly reasonable! Dr. Kniffen takes a conservative approach to treatments. At times, he has suggested buying things at a drug store to save money (like Benadryl and a humidifier). He doesn't jump into doing a bunch of tests, X-rays, ultrasounds and the like, unless it's truly warranted. Unfortunately, that seems to be very uncommon with veterinarians these days--it's like they want to milk every dime out of you that they can. I would recommend Highway 79 to anyone looking for a good vet with reasonable pricing. This might be one of the few places left that hasn't been taken over by a big corporation.

However, on the vet clinic's web site that they want you to order from, triple the cost. I don't know why "greed" has to enter the picture. Why not charge affordable prices and thus show love of neighbor since many out there are struggling to make ends meet?

Your kindness, patience, and genuine care have meant more to me than I can fully put into words. Several years ago, I lost my German Shepherd, Cairo, in a way that left a permanent mark on my heart. He became very sick, very fast, and I rushed him to an emergency clinic hoping for help. Instead, he was placed in a holding room alone for 24 hours before anyone ever looked at him. By the time I saw him again, his tongue had turned black, and green bile was coming from his mouth. He passed away in my arms at only two years old. I was young, devastated, and completely lost. I had to roll my boy up in a rug, sobbing as I carried him back to that same clinic because I didn't know what else to do. They never asked if I was okay. They never expressed sympathy. They only tried to sell me services I couldn't afford. The way they handled his life--and his death--left a hole in my home, in my heart, and even my cat and I fell into a deep depression. It also left me with a deep fear and mistrust of veterinary care. So when it came time to bring Rogue in, I carried all of that pain and hesitation with me. But then I met all of you. From the very moment we walked in, your warmth and compassion were obvious. You were gentle, attentive, and you treated Rogue like the precious soul she is. Which would be absolutely fine if I hadn't specifically asked for anti-anxiety medications for my dog. When she arrived at the vet today the total cost for the visit had jumped to an estimated 304$, for included blood tests on top of the exam. I absolutely understand this is necessary, but when I called to ask why that was not part of the estimation the reply was "Not all anxiety medication requires blood testing." I don't understand how a veterinarian could hear that a dog has anxiety issues, and not have any idea that she's going to need testing for said issue, especially after multiple days of calling in to check. Tying it all off with a wonderful bow, by the time I had someone willing to help and didn't see fit to answer all my questions rudely. My partner had already been forced to pay the cancellation fee and barred from returning as well as one of the employees going out of her way to call my character into question. TLDR: I absolutely 1000% understand not all anxiety meds require bloods testing, I also understand that none of them were ruled out ahead of time so it should've been in the estimation. When I called to ask why it hadn't been included the First Lady was very rude, by the time I had someone else on the phone explaining we were banned.

I greatly appreciate the time Dr. Hoh has put into researching Benny's case (she has probably even done it after hours!) and her detailed follow-up calls with me. I also appreciate how Courtney and Jamie never think it's a big deal that Benny is very vocal with them in the room (haha), and how they don't think I'm too nuts with all of my emails, calls, and questions. They all love on Benny, and it means the absolute world to me. They're angels, and Benny and I are so lucky to have all of you on our side. Grateful just doesn't even seem like enough. Liberty Hill Animal Hospital charges the following: $70 Exam Fee $48 Ear Cytology $16 for hair ear pluck No administration fees or biohazard fees. $30 Recheck fee Needless to say I'm not going back and disappointed. Dr. Rob performed oral surgery to remove several of Reishi's teeth. It was the first major surgery we had experienced with her. He was extremely patient with our questions, took wonderful care of her, and guided us through the entire process. Reishi healed very quickly and had no postoperative complications, which we were especially grateful for after hearing about friends whose pets experienced infections and other issues following similar procedures elsewhere. Recently, Reishi had a cancer scare after an alarming initial assessment at an emergency vet. We were quite stressed. When we brought her to see Dr. Rob, he first acknowledged what we had been through and made us feel heard and cared for before discussing the next steps. He even emailed us with test results and next steps while he was on a family vacation, which showed us how deeply he cares about his patients. Fortunately, further testing showed that Reishi did not have cancer. Going through such a stressful experience felt much more manageable knowing that Reishi was under Dr. Rob's care. He is compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in both his patients and their families. Unfortunately, we are moving out of state and will have to find a new veterinarian. Last week we took our Chihuahua in for her dental work to Sam Bass Veterinary Wellness. It was our first time to go there and the staff were great. They were also good about coming to the car and conducting business on the phone, etc. to keep the humans safe from germs. A few years ago we had a scare and thought we would lose our Chihuahua puppy. Bottom line is that she survived but it was critical that we find a new vet who understands about tiny dogs. Dr. Angela Wilson was highly recommended by someone who actually worked for a different vet! We have been thrilled with Dr. Wilson's care of our Chihuahuas (and cats). She remembers to do specific things (like spacing out immunizations) and we no longer have to worry about reminding the vet. We have complete faith and trust in her. So we were devastated when she told us in December that she was leaving -- but the good news is she just moved to the Sam Bass clinic. We are very thankful for her. She also has a great "bedside" manner both with humans and pets. We look forward to seeing her again when it's safe to return to face to face visits. Until then we have complete trust in handing our pets over to her. read more

I highly recommend Sam Bass Veterinary Wellness and CTCH! I have been going to CTCH for 15 years, and I admit when the new clinic opened I was a bit skeptical as to the service, as Dr. Smith is a hard man to replace... However, I found the vets and staff to be very friendly and caring and when I lost Grover, my sweet feline companion of 16 years, I was very comforted by their compassionate care. I now have 2 kittens, Mork & Mindy and they have been great with my rambunctious duo! Thanks for all you guys do! You're the best! read more

This is the BEST veterinarian I've ever had. He has fixed 2 broken legs, ( on the same cat), cured my snot rocket, ( so glad to be free of gooey green boogers ) treated multiple fosters, and maintains my 20 year old cat with a thyroid issue. Simply the best!! read more

My dog has chronic ear infections. I previously went to Georgetown Veterinary Hospital and was…read morecharged over $350 and my dog's ear infection never got better. I asked them if I could come back and they wanted to charge me more money. This time I too him to Old Town Vet Hospital. Emily [technician] was so extremely nice and helpful. She told me about home ear flushes I can do with Jerry. Emily was also very thorough explaining to the doctor what was wrong. While I was there I found a tick on my dogs ear. Dr. Harding was able to remove the tick and gave me instructions of odd signs to look for if my dog was affected. Dr. Harding told me about allergies my dog may have that might be contributing to his ear infections that I had no idea of. She gave me several different options for allergy treatment. She also gave me ear drops and prednisone to help with Jerry severe ear infection. Dr. Harding spent a lot of time going over treatments to prevent these chronic ear infections. She also gave me options that were more cost effective. Savanna came in at the end and gave me the medications and checked us out. None of these steps and treatment were given to me at Georgetown Veterinary Hospital and was charged a lot more with no resolution for Jerry. I absolutely felt heard and that my dog was taken well care of by Old Town Vet Hospital. I truly believe the staff wanted to get to the root of the issue so these ear infections do not keep happening. I would rate the staff and Dr. Harding 5 stars.

The kindness and compassion they showed us during that experience meant so much to our family, and because of that, I transferred our pets there as regular clients. I had wonderful experiences with Dr. Mundal and always felt our pets received thoughtful, attentive care from her. Unfortunately, after she left the practice, my experience changed significantly. One of the vet tech experiences left a very bad impression on me due to impatience and poor communication. I specifically requested not to work with that tech again. Beyond that, appointments often felt unprepared. Rather than reviewing my pet's chart beforehand, I was repeatedly asked for information that was already documented in the file, including medication lists and prior treatments. It became frustrating to feel like I was constantly re-explaining established medical history. I also repeatedly received reminders for vaccines and services that had already been completed months earlier. After this happened multiple times, it began to create concern about organization, oversight, and confidence in the accuracy of my pets' records. It was disappointing because our initial experience with Old Town was so positive and compassionate. Ultimately, due to the ongoing communication and organizational concerns, I decided to move my pets' care elsewhere.

I made a last minute appointment for my dog and they were able to schedule me right away. Their staff are very nice and we were greeted with a smile when we came in. Dr. Gardial was so friendly and was happy to answer all my questions and concerns regarding my dog's health.

Another day with no results and lost for possible treatment. He called again Tuesday morning and was given the same run around. Dr Pratt was in surgery but would call as soon as she was free. I called that afternoon to let them know how upset we were! Dr Pratt had just walked into a room with a patient! So let me get this straight...we can left waiting for 2 days but she couldnt be bothered to leave a patient waiting for a few minutes to give us the test result! it's now 6 so we've lost yet another day of treatment IF there's something wrong and Dr Pratt still can't be bothered to call, leaving our pet at risk if somethings wrong!! Vet appts and certificates were going to be $349 for each pet. Whitestone Animal hospital was only $200 for both Ugo and Uma!! This saved me $500!! In case you don't know, most of the veterinary clinics are being gobbled up by corporate monoliths, eager to tap into the lucrative market of doting pet parents who want to know everything their pet can't tell them. So they develop lists of mandatory services--much like car dealerships--that include $200 of lab work each visit, $35 nail trims, plus charges for all the extra staff it takes to make you feel like your baby is being carefully inspected from head to toe. Unfortunately, a lot of times, the vet techs at these three-letter places might love pets, but haven't the first clue what to do other than cuddle them since yesterday they were taking your order at Happy McBurgermeister. Make no mistake. This is an animal hospital, country-style. It is not your marble-countered, Starbucks-serving, rest-your-tushy-on-leather-sofas-while-you-wait pet resort. You'll see and smell large animals in vet pens behind the parking lot. You'll need to wait in your car or outside with your pet until they call you in since there isn't a large waiting room. This office emphasizes function (keeping pets well) over form (keeping owners pampered). If you want to pay extra for personal comfort or to light up the midnight sky with branding signage, have mercy on yourself and meander on over where those things are possible. I took our pupperonis in yesterday for their second round of vaccines. We were about 10 minutes early, and had to wait about 20 minutes to be called inside. When we were, we were immediately escorted back to a spartan treatment room with a single wooden chair. Dr. Tarleton came in immediately to confirm our treatment, and came back almost as quickly with the syringes. The furbabies were in and out in under 5 minutes. No muss, no fuss. Shots over. I should mention that they have great deals with rebates on Virbac-branded heartworm treatment. The big names are about $20 more for 6 months. These also cover tapeworms, and there was a $10-25 rebate offered depending on how many you bought at once. I hesitate to quote prices, but, experientially, their heartworm meds were on par with prices I paid last year at Emancipet--actually, less, after the rebate. In the end, what I paid for were good, honest veterinary services and the time it took to render them. I genuinely appreciate the hyper-conscious effort Dr. Tarleton makes at cost containment and his no-frills approach to keeping the four-legged friends we love and who love us back healthy and happy.

The fact that they do it with kindness and love is icing on the cake. Dr. Hoff and Connie took care of him today and of course he loved the visit. Is your pet afraid of going to the vet? Try Castlerock. Today's visit however was like all the rest: regardless of which vet or tech you'll get, its going to be a good and thorough visit and if you're going for vaccination updates or ailment checks you'll sit in the check-up room with your buddy. I've never had - which means my dog has never had - a bad experience at Castlerock. All the questions I ask they take seriously and explain as much as I want about things because, hey, I'm trying to look out for my four-legged friend, so I gotta know what I'm doing! Other things I like? The facility is clean, fresh and up to date intelligently designed with concrete floors since sometimes our animal friends can't hold in their excitement if you know what I mean. No loud garish music over the PA scaring you & your animal.
