Normally not one to post reviews, but wanted to say thank you again for an awesome experience with the owner and staff. I was going out of town this week and in the hustle and bustle of getting ready to leave, totally forgot that I had to drop my dog off for boarding. I called in a couple minutes after they had closed and got the owner. She was more then helpful and ask the staff to wait on me to bring my dog in. All of the staff was they and were more then helpful, stayed late to meet me, and were more then pleasant. Shelby was at the desk as was extremely nice and helpful with my tardy arrival. Based on my experience, do not entrust you dog to Animal Crackers. This business in not well-supervised by its owner(s). You cannot trust the business to perform as expected and provide the services offered. Regarding grooming, either the receptionists fail to accurately relay grooming instructions, or the groomers are not professionals and cannot properly groom specific breeds. In either case, the result is unacceptable and the damage is irreversible. Adding insult to injury, the owner promised a refund but never delivered. read more

Horrible experience from start to finish! Upon arrival, Zach was on his phone while he was actively grooming a dog and his new hire was picking up multiple piles of dog poop in the grooming area where he let's his dogs roam during store hours. At pick-up, Zach was on his phone while grooming a dog and my dog was in the "free range" area after being told to keep my dog separate. Dogs are not wel monitored when roaming. When I got my dog home,I noticed that he had been nicked and wouldn't stop licking his injury. No one mentioned the injury at pick-up. When I contacted Zach he talked over me and gave all the reasons how this injury could have happened. A simple, "I'm sorry" would have sufficed. He did offer a refund for the groom. I will never take my dog here again. In fact this gave me a bad taste for all kennels. He was there for a week. Thank goodness it wasn't longer. When we picked our dog up he was extremely lethargic. He smelled of urine. He had a rash on both front legs multiple sores on his feet. The area between his toes / web area was raw and tender. Clearly his paws sat in wet. He was filthy. They did encourage a bath before pick up but I wanted to see what he was like before a bath. That tells all. Very sad if this is how they treat animals behind the closed doors. He was very thirsty when he got home drank two bowls quickly. Unsure how much food and water he really had. This place may be ok for a small dog but ours is 65 # 18 months old and had energy. Sounds like he was isolated due to that. He did lose weight which we kinda expected. This made us extremely sad. The staff don't update or say how things went. We did ask but like I said the staft are just there for a paycheck. The staff were just ok. I would say not friendly but not rude. I learned I will never do that to my dog again. I am not sure what happened to this place from last year to this year, but they have gone down hill. Last year we boarded our 2 dogs 30+ days with no issues. This year we have boarded them twice and both times both dogs came home with urine and feces all over them. Spoke to Kelly the owner the first time (about 3 weeks ago) and she said she would look into it and was apologetic but offered both to have exit baths on their next time there. Fast forward today, picked them up a day early and again they were covered in urine and feces again! Totally unacceptable. Spoke to Dave the owner and he gave me excuses why they looked like that. They are having drainage problems outside where the dogs do their business. Seriously? If this is an issue fix it! THEN...since we picked both up a day early I asked for their extra days medicine back. They couldn't find it and said they probably threw it away. The dogs hadn't even left the building when I asked for it. They found the paperwork in the garbage. Who knows if my dogs even got their medicine or fed for that matter. They did not clean the cages as they should and after reading some of these reviews I can see that their staff is inadequate to handle such type of work. When I we picked up our two dogs from grooming one was properly groomed per my instructions. The other, of the same breed, was shaved down to the bare skin on the abdomen and chest with less than 1/8 of an inch of fur left on the back. There were gouges cut out of the fur on the legs. The dog had a skin nick on the abdomen from the clippers. When I spoke to the owner she was rude and raised her voice angrily telling me that was how I instructed them to do the grooming (so why was one done right?) If you love your dog and see him like your baby, don't board them! Get a house pet sitter when out of town! And learn how to groom them yourself!! As an animal lover and one who sees an animal like my own child and not an object, I TOTALLY recommend that NO ONE take their animal here especially for grooming. I was looking for an awesome atmosphere to enjoy animals and dogs and one day working behind the scenes here was enough!!! I started in bathing. First thing I noticed that this place could use a good deep cleaning. I understand places get dusty but it was pretty filthy. Even the employees bathroom was disgusting and I couldn't even lock the door behind me. What upset me the most was the drying process for these fur babies. The only way to describe it was like taking my car to the car wash and hosing it down with the high pressure hose. This place uses high pressure hand blow dryers and the dogs HATE it!!! Every single one of them. You use this tool close to their skin and can see the water spraying and bouncing off their skin. Going in a fast paced motion over and over and over again for what seems like a half hour felt like forever for these dogs I'm sure- no breaks or comforting the dogs. Being tied up to the table or wall, they couldn't get away fast enough and were made to feel this torture so they could get to the groomer faster and dry as a bone. I was told if they weren't dry enough the groomer would send them back. Some of the dogs even yelped in distress and moaned. I FELT SO HORRIBLE. I witnessed in this very loud atmosphere most of the employees had head phones in and didn't even talk to the dogs to reassure them or calm them down. I sure did! I feel like the dogs were treated like an object with no heart or feelings sitting on that table. I think this place takes on such a volume of dogs and is very money driven. The volume is too big here to stop and see how your animal is doing or how it's feeling. They just keep it moving like a factory line. There's too many dogs to keep up with. Even the hot water can't keep up. It ran out by 10am and I had to bathe dogs with cold water in a cold place. Very upsetting. Sitting behind the reception desk, I experienced a lot of covering up. It was too busy to answer most of owners questions and concerns. If an owner told the reception things about a dog, it wasn't noted and very little information abbreviated on their charts. This place is just way too busy to have empathy and caring to slow down and REALLY care what the owner is expressing or how the dog is doing. I was not impressed with the small doggie daycare area, especially outside. It was just a fenced in area with pea gravel and walls all around. No grass. Walking through the facility I could see most of the dogs were scared, fearful and shaking. It's like taking your dog to the animal shelter - he's probably thinking he won't see his owner again. This place is old and filthy and I wouldn't even take my pet rat there. Most of the employees were very very nice but I declined a job there after one day. I feel bad for ALL of the animals getting dropped off here. If you can't see and watch your animal play, get bathed and see how it's treated behind the scenes then don't do it! read more

Last time I took my dogs here they all came down with kennel cough. I gave them another chance though and it cost me a $125 vet bill. The dog they shaved they cut her stomach up. And one that doesn't get shaved somehow ended up with a cut as well. read more

If you send your dog to animal crackers for boarding or daycare make sure when they bring you your dog you ask to look at your dog's clipboard. They secretly hide dogs clipboards when the owner comes because they will lie and not tell them their dog is aggressive. Most times as well, the dog doesn't eat at all and they lie to you about that as well. It's a very untrustworthy business. The owners refuse to take accountability for anything and if you look at the replies to all the reviews they all sound the same: deny, deny, deny. If your dog comes home with feces or urine or both on them do not send your dog there again because they will make that same mistake. They will lose your dogs prescription meds and food you paid for and barely ever compensate for it. They barely prevent dog fights and many dogs come home with scars there. To add on, The reason why you hear dogs barking and whining is not because they see the workers although it can be, it's most likely because your dog is either hungry, thirsty or needs to go potty. Either way your dog is being neglected and not cared for most the times. You and your dog(s) both deserve better treatment and your complaints are valid. read more

i worked at animal crackers a while back and saw how badly they treated their own dogs. They had a few dogs who stayed at the facility and only went home to give birth to puppies for sale. one of the dogs got half a grooming and looked ridiculous and mangled for over a month. Their grooming for customers is amazing but I'd be careful letting your dog stay over night. They have an aggressive dog isle and I personally became worried for not only my own safety but also other dogs in the facility. Overall, I feel animal crackers needs A few improvements and should treat their own dogs the way they would any other customers. read more

My dog is a pretty anxious pup, but every time she comes home from a grooming appointment she's always in a great mood. They do a great job with their de-shedding services and make my dog feel safe and relaxed at her appointments. I would say the de-shedding lasts for about 3 weeks. Kera at the front desk helped me set up my appointment and I had an excellent experience with her. Great customer service all around! read more

This place needs to be put out of business! I just started working at this place 3 weeks ago and today I finally had enough and walked out, everyone who works there is extremely lazy and will sit up at the front desk instead of looking after the dogs, Animal Crackers closes at 7:00pm and everything must be done before you close up for the night mopping, sweeping, feeding, laundry, clean up, give meds. Ect and it's definitely not a one person job, while all the other employees would sit at the front desk ordering doordash and watching TikTok I was always in the back doing EVERYTHING by myself,Some nights I wouldn't be able to leave until 8:30-9pm, the employees treat the dogs like garbage! Most of the dogs don't even get fed, when I started my shifts I would look around and see if any of the dogs needed water and all the dogs had little to no water, most of the dogs didn't even have food or water bowls, the dogs only get let out 2 time a day, dogs are constantly covered in feces from not only them but other dogs as well. There's no night shifts, after Animal crackers closes for the night they turn all the lights off and lock the place up, yard 1(where they keep the big dogs) is always cold, they don't have blankets or anything but the cold cement floor to sleep on, yard 2 and 3 (the small dogs) that room is seriously like a desert! It's so hot in that room. In yard 1 there's a special place for the aggressive dogs, most of the time the aggressive dogs would be put in with the playful dogs, and when It came to play time there was always a dog fight! Let's talk about how disgusting that place is, yes I understand it's a dog place and there's going to be hair and food everywhere but seriously this place is disgusting! I would work afternoon shifts on weekdays and when I came into work there would be dried up feces everywhere, in the play area, in the dog kennels, in the hallways, everywhere! The morning shift people clearly didn't clean or do anything! Please don't let your dogs stay here not even for the day! This place seriously needs to be put out of business ASAP. read more

My dog got kennel cough from only being there for 3 days. When I called and asked the staff about it they said they did not see any symptoms and there was no dogs in there with kennel cough. They also stated my dog was not around any other dogs, but obviously that was false since I took him to the vet the next day from getting him and they said he had gotten kennel cough. read more

First of all, I never really used this app before.. I usually just look at Google reviews Facebook, etc. but I wanted my voice to be heard about this place, so here I am. My first impression of the place was good, the people seemed extremely friendly, and that they were super excited to have my dog be with them. And I did feel comfortable. When I picked up my dog about three days later, she was acting really strange.. So I got down and looked at her real well when I saw this huge puncture wound on her leg. She has three punctures all together on her leg, another dog had bit her. And as you can see in the picture I am posting.. You can clearly see that it more than likely was bleeding a lot. (There was minimal blood traces left over on her leg) which is extremely concerning to me because clearly someone saw it and was hiding it. This in my mind is literally like picking up my child from daycare to find a gash in there arm and someone not telling me to try and cover it up. That is definitely not okay. She had a lot of dry pee caked on her legs, like she wasn't getting cleaned up very well or let out. I over heard the girls saying that there were only 52 dogs that they were boarding at the moment.. And I was shocked to find that that isn't even their max capacity! They do not have enough people there working, let alone responsible people working there to contain that many dogs. They have a bunch of teenagers working there that are clearly not looking after the well being of these dogs, and are just excited to be playing with puppies. So many diseases and injuries can happen in this kind of environment with this many dogs, not enough people, and the dogs just aren't able to get the kind of care they need and deserve while their owner is away. Although the staff was extremely accommodating over paying for our whole stay, a grooming, and the vet bill. I will ABSOLUTELY NOT ever take my dogs here again. Every time we set up an appointment it goes very smoothly. When you walk in your greeted by an awesome staff that no exactly what to do in order to make you and your pet feel accommodated. They take control and you are on your way. When you return your pet always looks great and is energetic and happy. Filthy and unprofessional. The first couple if times (2) we liked this place. After the first 2 times things started going down hill. We would board our BostonTerrier there, bring with him food, a toy, and his bed. when we would pick him up his bed would have wads of hair from a long haired dog, smelled of urine and vomit (that pungent sour smell), and his toys would be missing. We asked the high school girl, wearing a highschool swim team t-shirt, at the "front desk" if the bed stayed with our dog or if it was used as a communal bed. She replied that it stayed with the dog in the kennel. This is an obvious lie, bc the bed wouldn't be covered in other dog hair, usually long and wadded up. I boarded my cat there as well, back in August 2016, they offered a deal if you boarded a cat and dog together, @12/day for the cat and $30/ day for the dog. we took that offer, but it wasn't worth it. My cat came back with a wierd ear infection. When I picked him up this time the price went up to $26 per night. More than doubling! I inquired about the price hike and the teenager said that the prices were always like this. Obviously she's wrong. As another high school kid handed me my cat he was handing me the cat's blanket, which was wet. As I held the wet part in my hand, I told him the blanket was wet. He looked at me and (without apology) stated it was probably from a water spill. I stated that I'm pregnant and worried that it could be cat urine so i needed to wash my hands asap, he replied that they don't have a sink available and it asked the high school girl working the front desk if I could use the hand sanitizer. The girl looked at me and asked me "why i need to use the hand sanitizer?" So after explaining myself AGAIN, I was able to get permission from her to use hand sanitizer. I've never delta with a dog and cat boarding facility with so many unprofessional people working there. The attitudes of these employees is wrong and unacceptable in the business world. The place is dirty... filthy! We are choosing to no longer do business with Animal Crackers. read more

First and foremost I HATE slamming places of business!!! Just because you have had a bad experience with a single person you should not give a business a bad name. In this case I believe this should be heard. We dropped 2 dogs off they told us 4-5 hours because they were short handed, totally understandable. After 5 hours i did not hear anything. so i called I was told another 15 minutes and they would give me another call just to confirm, so living 25 minutes away I headed out there. By the time i reached animal crackers I still have no heard anything so I hung out in the parking lot waiting for them to give me call. while sitting in my car i could see through the front windows and was looking to see if they were still grooming my dog. All of a sudden I see a male groomer take the leash that hangs above the dog and jerk it so the dog would turn around. I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT I SAW!! So i kept watching the dog started to turn away again and he jerked the leash AGAIN!!!. i came in and said I wanted my dogs regardless if they were done or not. I confronted the man that did this and he said he did it gentle. Gentle would not make a dog do a 180 so fast. The women that cashed me out said she would take care of it, While looking through the facebook page I am realizing she was the owner not seeming to concerned of the issue at hand. This place has lost my business. I gave nothing but rave reviews and recommendations to this place but after seeing this i will never be back! If you are getting a animal groomed here do not let a younger looking petite man groom your dog. read more

I gave one star because they took my dog while he was a puppy. If you love your dog, don't take him here. My dog frequented this establishment for doggie daycare and overnight boarding over the course of 4 months. Each time hoping they would prove me wrong on my initial fears of this place being bad. My dog got kennel cough and I called and told them and they told me they had no other reports of this, I asked the emergency vet and they told me they have seen over 6 dogs with kennel cough from animal crackers in the past month. Each time I picked him up, he would smell like urine and would be urinating before he made it out the door. He also had bite marks and scars all over him. I notified the staff he was not going out enough but it continued to happen the following time I used them. They hire high school kids who do not have your dogs best interest in mind. The dogs are kept in kennels with no mat or rug to protect them in the cold. There is no overnight staff, and the owner leaves her dog she breeds there alone in the front store/grooming area at night. I would not recommend this place even for daycare, the yard they have for the dogs to play is tiny. read more

Called 3 times for information regarding an appointment and not even given the full information for a new customer. If anyone needs their pups groomed, boarded overnight, or just a play date for socialization, I couldn't recommend Animal Crackers enough... Great prices, staff, and services... They even have a shop with food, treats, and accessories... Our mixed mutt puppy LOVES going for a visit... He gets so excited when we pull into their barking lot... and is welcomed back by staff... When we pick him up from day care, he's as tired as can be, but oh, so HAPPY... We asked them to clip his nails during a recent day care session and, since we have young children, Mr Dave recommended they also file his nails... Ms Kelly did it herself and it really helped ease the puppy scratches for sure... It's a family business, owned and operated by Kelly and Dave who care about their community and are often very generous in supporting our sports organizations, schools, etc... You care and love your pet like we do... rest assured they will be in good hands with Animal Crackers... We'll be customers for life!!!! read more

I have been bringing my dog here for years even before they expanded and moved into the new building. Kelly and the "boys" as I refer to them have done an excellent job every time. Brandon and Jeff I can speak for have always done a nice job with her and she is a 65 pd Goldendoodle so not an easy groom. They always make sure I am happy with the job. The customer service is excellent and I have to say they have went over and above to help make things easier for me when my out of town plans changed last minute. I feel terrible giving such a terrible rating but it is much needed. My dog went to animal crackers multiple times to get her hair cut.. after one of her visits she got kennel cough. And this wasn't the worst of it, after she got her hair cut one day she came home limping. They were so rough with my 7 pound dog that they were not cautious and sprained her leg. I will NEVER be back to this place & would not recommend it if you luv your doggy as much as I do! They do not care for the dogs, as much as they care about getting as many dogs in as possible for more $$$$!!! read more

Will never be back. We had a reservation for our dog to be boarded while we are out of town for spring break. When we went to drop him off they had misplaced his reservation card. Also I was promised he would be groomed while he was there, only to find out someone had committed this to us and their grooming schedule was full. They told us on the at the time we scheduled the boarding they would contact our vet to have it all set for us when we dropped him off. Once again we were let down and not only did they not look into his records, they would not take him... Very frustrating and ruined the first part of our trip. My perfectly groomed dog was picked up stinking and covered in mud after only 5 days by my family who could not even let him in the house without an immediate bath.. Didn't get a bath by the kennels as I requested, claiming they were too busy and neither was his bed washed as promised. Open environment is super noisy and not for quiet dogs. Mine didn't eat properly for 5 days afterwards. Will not be going back ! read more

When I went to pick up my dog from boarding at Animal Crackers there was a litany of barking and howling coming from the back is if every dog was in distress. I originally planned on leaving my siberian husky, Thor, for 5 days over Christmas. They offered to groom and bathe him while he was there, for an additional fee of course. I called four hours in advance to give notice that I would be picking him up two days early. They informed me that he wouldn't be bathed which was fine, though I figured after three days of boarding he couldn't possibly be too unkempt. Boy, was I wrong. When I spoke to the man working the front desk he stated that Thor's blanket had gotten "sticky" and they had just started washing it. It wasn't until I saw Thor again that I understood what he had meant by "sticky." Thor was noticeably upset and jittery despite his normally calm nature, not to mention that is white fur was caked in his own excrement. It took two baths to restore his usual cleanliness, but not before he ate and drank like he hadn't in three days. After noticing that their advertisements contain the phase "we treat your pets like we treat our own" I felt it necessary to let them know that they should be embarrassed to claim such quality service. I called and spoke with a manager who apologized and informed me that the animals don't receive any attention from 7 pm to 7 am. I partially blame myself for not thinking to check that an animal care service may neglect their clients' pets for half a day at a time. I felt relieved to be able to make someone in charge aware of my dismay. It wasn't until the next day when I spoke to the owner that I felt it necessary to let everyone know with whom these people are entrusting the livelihood of their pets. The owner asked for my story and then proceed to treat me as if I was a child complaining about having to eat vegetables at dinner. She was rude, short, and at no point apologized for the poor care that my dog received. The whole experience left me feeling like there was a major lack of professionalism from top to bottom of the Animal Crackers organization, and that I must let everyone know I would highly recommend taking your pets elsewhere. My dogs are my kids. We went out of town and I have never boarded them before. I told them the 7 month old St Bernard is still potty training and needs to go out more and the pit bull can only play with her because he plays too rough with smaller dogs. When I arrived for drop off they wouldn't let me in the back which made me nervous. I called during our trip to check on them and they said the dogs were doing great with no problems. When I picked them up they were covered in urine. The bedding I took was covered and it had been like that for days, you could smell it. My pit has a sore over one eye and when I picked him up he darn near yanked me out of that place which is not like him. He now has watery diarrhea and is very sick which is going to cost me an arm and a leg at the vet later. I could not believe the state that they were in when I picked them up. I also use pinch collars and made sure they were familiar with how to connect them which they assured me they were and when I picked them up they were not attached appropriately. The knowledge and expertise in handling dogs is so poor I will never ever EVER use a boarding facility again or recommend this place to ANYONE. read more
