Our pups really enjoyed their stay at camp bow wow. While we wish they could have come with us, we had to leave our furry friends at a boarding facility. We chose CBW because it is close to where we live, and our decision was affirmed with their strict policies. They make pets get every vaccine that exists and even do a poop sample. Idk if this is standard in michigan, but it made us happy to know that our pets wouldn't be exposed to any illnesses. They also interview every dog before allowing it to stay. I really enjoyed using the web cameras to check in on our pups every now and then. The staff was really nice at check in and check out. We will certainly use CBW again when we go out of town. read more

Don't let your dog mingle with twenty other dogs when there's little to no supervision. (someone standing there doesn't count) Three times we boarded our 1 year old or less puppy and three times we had to take her to the vet. Rough play they say laughingly. Puppies messing with older dogs get hurt, ours has been limping for two months. X-rays require sedation and big vet bills. No more Camp Bow Wow. read more

Took excellent care of our baby for a very reasonable price in a very clean environment. I would've appreciated more personal interaction time for him, but it was $15 for 15 mins once a day. That was a bit pricey, imo, to play with a dog. They are all kind. The cameras didn't have access to all the play areas, especially outside. We did get to see our pup almost every day in the indoor play. They did send me one pic during the 15 day duration that my pup boarded. I would've appreciated more. Business treated me extremely poorly and unprofessionally. Filled out application for puppy, set interview 6 weeks in advance, emailed all medical records and even received a call from the staff the day before to confirm interview. I drive several miles for 7:30am interview, and as I walk in the desk tells me they have cancelled my interview. No phone call, no heads up, just wasted my time with zero remorse and certainly zero courtesy or respect for my time. Unacceptable. read more

We were thrilled to bring Badger to Camp Bow Wow, the people working there were so nice, and he sure looked like he had fun at the day camp! Last weekend we boarded him for Sunday through Tuesday and he came home with diarrhea and lethargy. I called and the staff member said it could be a reaction to the stress of being away from us which is possible, but I also think he had a reaction to drinking well water. He was sick like this last year before we switched to bottled water at our RV park. I didn't think to ask if they used well water until I called back the second time. Lesson learned, next time we'll see if we can bring bottled water for him, we were impressed with the camp otherwise. read more

Zero Stars. Major breed discriminators and terrible customer service. We weren't there more than 5 minutes for our initial temperament testing when the employee conducting the testing, who is far too old to be doing that type of work, comes back to us and says, "our dog was growling and had her hackles up, I am just not comfortable with letting her stay". This was a complete surprise to us, as we watched the entire temperament testing. Our dog could have cared less about the dogs she was introduced to. Oddly enough, our dogs have kenneled at several other facilities, multiple times, and we have never once had an issue. At one of the kennels we use, they use our dogs to conduct the temperament testing. Odd that they didn't pass at this facility.... Its pretty obvious, Camp Bow Wow Brighton breed discriminates. Don't dare take a dog there that could even LOOK like a bully breed. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

We've often taken our dog to another Camp Bow Wow location. Upon moving, it was our first choice for boarding! If your pet has attended another local Camp Bow Wow, it's very easy to get them enrolled in a different location. They were able to easily pull our file up. All we had to do was provide updated medical and vaccine information. We loved this Camp Bow Wow because they were very thorough in making sure our dog received the correct dosage of medication at the correct time of day. There were some forms to fill out but it made me feel secure my dog was getting what she needed and it wouldn't be forgotten. I love the Camper Cams available to pet owners as well! It was great checking in on Maya and seeing her happily play. The phone app has always worked pretty well on my IOS but I have heard concerns about it working from others. The campfire treat is also great. Pre Camp Bow Wow, wed have to pay extra for our dog to receive a treat at night and some pets. However, they have free treats nightly for dogs. I also love the option of being able to get a clean puppy when I pick her up by purchasing a grooming package. While this Brighton location is not near us, it's right off of 23 and is an easy, quick stop on our way up north. We love Camp Bow Wow and as long as we keep traveling north, won't send our pet anywhere else! read more

Very disappointed in my experience with Camp Bow Wow in Brighton. Our dog was boarded there for several days and nights end of September into October , and came home very ill. She had diarrhea while there, stopped eating and ended up in the vet hospital for 3 days and 2 nights . She had numerous blood test , IV fluids, and multiple antibiotics before being diagnosed with a respiratory bacteria. I talked to manager at Camp bow wow who was very sympathetic but the regional a manager stated there is nothing they can do . Our dog was not ill when she went to camp bow wow plus we have another dog who stayed home and did not get sick. Of course there's always a risk that dogs get bugs and illness from each other despite the vaccines but IV fluids , quarantine, special probiotic food after discharge plus multiple visits to our vet in Pinckney ? Our vet bill was $ 1200 for this experience. Please be careful when u chose dog care and hire a sitter . I would never recommend Camp Bow Wow in Brighton, Mi I have read the positive reviews of Camp Bow Wow in this site but I tell you today this business is not the one described in glowing praises, maybe this is way they used to be but today they are negligent I am not happy with the answer from Camp Bow Wow, I have $1200 vet bill and the offer of returning me my boarding fee is simply not enough. The offer of giving me a discount if I return is again ridiculous, I will not be returning to Camp Bow Wow. I will pursue further action against Camp Bow Wow read more

I hate boarding my dog. I wonder about how much exercise he will get, whether or not they will just leave him in the cage, and if he'll get the right amount of food. I decided to try camp bow wow after looking at their web site. First of all, they will give you a tour of the place. It's insanely clean. They completely wash the floor, walls, etc 2 times a day. There is a state of the art filtration system to suck out any yuck in the air. There are several indoor and outdoor play areas where your dog will get to play ALL day. They only put them in the kennels for breakfast, lunch, dinner and of course night time. They do an "interview" with your dog to make sure he is compatible with the play group. They have a detailed system for making sure each dog gets it's food, medicine or any special needs taken care of. You can bring toys for your dog or a blanket. Everytime I bring my dog here, he comes home tired, but happy. You can watch the dogs play on a webcam, and it's just awesome that they get to spend most of their time outside the kennel. I can't say enough good things about this place. Even my vet takes her dogs here. read more

I went back to work, but didn't get any work done, because I kept watching him on my computer run in and out with the other dogs, I felt like I was spying on my kids - lol, what a riot!! My husband and I tried to bring our dog here last year (2021) and the initial interview was scheduled almost 6 weeks after we called (I needed a place immediately). We were able to find another location in the interim, but this location is 30 minutes closer to our house. We took our dog to the interview in October, she passed with flying colors, and she now has a free day of daycare on her account.....that we've never been able to use. We've tried making reservations in advance and/or calling ahead to bring her in multiple times only to be told the DAY OF that they "don't have room", leaving us to scramble and try to make other accomodations. We were also told to "look somewhere else" for boarding when we asked, as we go out of town for one weekend a month and needed a place to take care of her. We have never been able to actually go to this location and have given up trying at this point. Not worth our time. read more

My dog was going to Camp Bow Wow until a few weeks ago. He was bitten by another dog and they never called to tell me nor did they seek medical help for my dog. I had to take my dog to the emergency room to have the wound cared for and subsequently had to take him for several follow up appointments to our regular vet to have the would bandage change and the wound cleaned due to the fact that my dog was not taken to the vet immediatley and it could not be stitched up. Camp bow wow is not taking respinsibility for this and is refusing to pay for the vet bills. I would not recommend anyone taking their dogs here!!! read more

Our black lab, Lacy, adored spending her vacations here, as well as just hanging out for the day. The staff truly cares about every fog that crosses their threshold and provides love and excellent care. I like that there are separate play areas each with their own outdoor play yard. A huge bonus are the webcams both inside and outside. Let us watch Lacy to see who she was making friends with. Highly recommend. read more

Now that it's corporate-owned instead of franchised the new rules are clearly more aimed at profit than dog care. We started boarding our dogs there 10 years ago and have always loved and recommended it. HOWEVER, they recently sold back to corporate and they will no longer accommodate dogs by age or temperament. They have limited rooms so they can cut staff and increase profit margins. So, this is now only a good place for young, big dogs. If your dog is older or timid, look for a franchised Camp Bow Wow and talk to the owner. This place is no longer an option. We miss the former owners, and won't be back. read more

This place sucks. We took our 5 month old dog there last summer for a 2 night stay and it was the worst thing we did. While watching him on the webcams all We saw was the dogs following around a young guy who was on his cell phone. Didn't pay hardly any attention to the dogs. What a joke. Poor dogs just got ignored all day and walked around in circles. When we picked up our dog he was filthy dirty and smelled like pee. Our dog is white and black in color and his white fur had yellow pee coloration on it. Not sure if other dogs pissed on him or he was allowed to lay down in his own urine. What a filthy disgusting place. We had to bathe him the minute we got him home. When we called to Complain they offered a free bathing if we drove all the way back there. I wouldn't go back to that place even for free. What a miserable experience. Will not be going back again. Not even worthy of giving it 1 star. read more

Thank god we found Camp Bow Wow. Duggan loves going here. When we go on vacation and need a place for Duggan we send him here without any doubts. He always comes home and sleeps well for a few days. With the recent "polar vortex" he has not been getting much outside time...we took him today for day camp and he is out like a light. The staff is friendly and organized. You can even watch your pooch on a camper cam from your CPU at home or work. You can rest easy leaving your four legged family member at Camp Bow Wow. read more

Our dog loves going to Camp! When I was looking for a place for daycare and boarding, I was happy to find Camp Bow Wow just a few minutes from our house. They did a trial visit before his first stay and it was basically a free day of daycare! Plus I liked knowing that every dog is "tested" for social skills before everyone gets let loose together. I also like that there are webcams so I can check in while he is at Camp. The only thing that could make the Brighton location better is if they offered the in-home visits like some other locations do -- sometimes a whole day at Camp isn't needed, but just a quick visit would be the perfect solution. read more

Oscar, my dog goes to camp multiple times a week. Everyone who works there treats him as though he is their own dog. When I tell him it's time to go, he runs to the door and can barely control himsellf. He loves it there!! I highly recommend Camp Bow Wow! read more

I have NEVER boarded my dogs before. I always worked hard at finding friends or family to love my boys when I was gone (even if it meant driving a 1+hour away). So I was very nervous to take our new 10month old 70 lb puppy for the first time when we HAD to. He LOVED it. He played so much. I wish I could take him every week for play time. Budget doesn't allow for that, but occasionally when we are gone from home all day our buddy loves it. They other review was very thorough. I agree the place was very clean. Staff was very knowledgeable and caring. The owners were wonderful and usually on site. I am grateful they are in our area. read more

When boarding they do not "nickel and dime" you for every little thing like other places we have tried. One charged for extra pets for your dog :( When I called with a minor concern about our elderly dog, I was able to talk directly to the person working with her. Love this facility! Always hate to leave our little furbaby when we go away, but sometimes it is necessary. I have faith that she is taken care off at Camp BowWow. I have always asked family and friends to care for Bauer on the odd weekend or overnight. I suddenly have travel added to my job description and needed a place I could rely on where she would be cared for and safe. Our "interview" went very well and we both were happy. I had to travel and board her for the first time this week. What a great experience. Check in was great... they were well prepared for our arrival! I was able to check in via webcam and I loved it. I picked up Bauer this morning and she was happy to see me but not freaked out and ready to bolt to the car... My next trips are planned and my pupster will be a happy "camper"! read more

love, love this place. I'm not one that needs bells and whistles so I look for the best price and the best practical options. My GSD LOVES this place! she's almost a year now, we took her here when our baby was just born to give mom and dad a break - lol and she came back so happy and tired! She was hanging around humans too much and she needed to learn how to "dog" again. First impressions - they are ORGANIZED which tells me that they know what they are doing and care. They know her feeding schedule, any quirks, let us know each time how she did, they are great about making sure your dog is up to date on shots... which means they do this for other dogs too right, so that's good feeling. Supervision - is key, I didn't think much about this until I tried another place. Not all dogs like each other, besides that, when they use the facilities, it's cleaned up right away, which decreases infections and therefore vet bills... I know, I paid for one after a "free" visit to somewhere else. I love that I can check on a camera to see my pup, mostly just to laugh at her playfulness, but if they are willing to put it on video then I know I don't have to check in, as they have nothing to hide. def recommend. read more

It is camp bow wows corporate policy to not tell pet owners if their pets are exposed to any illness during their stay. I left my pet there and after picking him up, that night he was very sick. I called the next day and asked if any other dogs were ill during his stay and was told that 4 days prior some of the dogs had kennel cough. It must have been a new person because when i spoke to the manager and asked why i wasnt told, she said it was corporate policy not to tell the pet owners. So all these exposed pets leave there and expose other animals.. I understand that they cant control if a pet brings an illness into their kennel, but I feel it is tneir responsiblity to let pet owners know their pet has been exposed. read more

I can't say enough great things about Camp Bow wow in Brighton! Our dog LOVES it! He can't wait to get inside when we get there, and falls asleep on the way home! We take him there for the day as well as extended stays. The staff is wonderful and the facility is super clean. Your dog is playing most of the day (outside and in) and they even have bone shaped doggie pools for the warm weather. They also have camper cams if you want to check on your dog during the day. This is the only place that we will ever take our dog. 5 stars! read more

My dogs are regulars for day care at Camp Bow Wow. The staff is very nice here. The dogs are in play group from about 9-11:30 am in the morning and about 1-4 in the afternoon. Then the dogs are in kennels during the other times. I believe they get out from about 6-7 after dinner in the evening too especially because the boarding and day care dogs need their final potty break. I wish they had day care on Sunday too. We can not keep our dogs here for boarding as they do not offer 24-hour staffing. We have a dog with severe separation anxiety and he has to actually play out of his kennel all day to get him tired and have a staff member check on him late at night if he gets too stressed. It's a nice place for day care, but it's not right for boarding for our dogs. The only other thing I wish they would do is when you pick up your dog from day care is walk them up on to the door on a leash. They let the dogs run from the play area down the aisle where the dogs are kenneled. That seems stressful for the dog trying to go home and the dogs in the kennels. I wish they would bring my dogs down the kennel aisle on leashes rather than letting them run. It seems that would be safer. Nonetheless, I would recommend this facility. It is clean too. read more
