A week ago my fur babe was really bad (eye inflammation ) and my vet refer us the Animal Eye Guys. We went straight away without a previous appointment and their took care of us immediately like urgency. I'm really thankful for that. Now, week later I'm here for my dogs return (to check her improvement) and her condition is just unbelievable, we are so happy to have my dog's eyes back to normal even when we thought we could not. After several tests the Opthamology Specialist Dr. Martinez said my German Sheperd Service dog was an excellent candidate for left eye cataracts surgery. He had the surgery and stiches on his eye lid which I did not consent for her to cut that. She 1. took sutures out too early causing a problem on eye lid which required her to operate again. A very very traumatizing experience for me and for my dog. 2. she then again took the sutures out early blaiming the lack of healed area on he must heal slowly. thus, his life threatening surgery one year ago healing super fast. 3. she then did the surgery on his eye lid again comping the cost knowit was her fault 4. then my dog has endured a lot of limited vision hundreds of dollars of drops and continues to not see out of that eye again the dr blaiming this on his age he has never had issues with healing in fact is very healthy and livey for a 9&  1.2 year old dog I was quoted initually a lower cost then I have paid over $4000 for drops surgery and so forth. Many other doctors have evaluated the dog and observed in proper healing. I was told the machiene also burned a strip on his eye! I would like to resolve this problem by receiving a refund of $4,000. and at that time I will delete all reviews and hault any other actions I will plan to take against the business. My dog will require a surgical procedure again to close the hole that the vet continues to fail to heal causing additional pain and emotional trauma for me and for my dog. read more

We are here to check our dog's ear infection for the first time ( dermatology ). The entrance lobby is shared by two veterinarians' offices. One for dog Oftalmology and the other one for dog dermatology. Unfortunately due to traffic, we ended up missing our morning appointment. We decided to stay and see if they could see us. After a while of waiting they were so kind to take us in. While we were seating and waiting, we met Nichole. She works in the Oftalmology area. I can not describe how WONDERFUL and helpful Nichole is. She has an amazing personality! After waiting for more than 3 hours, she offered water to our dog multiple times. She even offered juice for me ( couldn't have breakfast in the morning). My dog was sleeping on the floor, she got cold and start shaking a bit and Nichole was so kind to bring a blanket for her. I am truly impressed by how professional and friendly Nichole is. It makes a huge difference to have a person like her helping customers. Whoever is in charge of her, they need to know she is an amazing worker. read more

I took my pug to check his eyes since I like to get him checked by an eye specialist every couple of years . My dog is getting older so he's very closely followed by his regular vets in Miami and Nyc (every 3 months ) ! Since I had gone to see them during the pandemic and didn't return to Nyc during that time , I asked them to renew the prescription for his eyes not thinking it would be a problem .. To my surprise their response was that he needs to be seen every year and could not give me a prescription without seeing him . Mind you, he's been on these eyes drops for the past 10 years .. To that I responded that he had ran out and that for sure he it would be safest to get it renewed because it would be more detrimental not to and that I wasn't sure when I'd be back to Miami . To my dismay, THEY BLACKMAILED ME .. to give a deposit before they could give me the prescription.. Of course they lost a patient, showed they cared nothing about the dog but only about money .. I will definitely make sure to spread the word around ... my regular vet obviously gave me the prescription because they know he needs it and that he's followed regularly . read more

This is a wonderful medical facility that specializes in ophthalmology care of your pet. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They ensured that my dogs eye trauma was treated properly and continue to prevent complications from the eye trauma. I myself have ophthalmology knowledge in the human world and I can assure you that the medical staff know how to properly differentiate between a corneal abrasion , corneal ulcer etc and the proper treatment all while making sure that your pup feels safe. My sweet little dog has been their patient for 5 years. She went blind in her left eye about 5 years ago, the care was good. Yesterday Lovey woke up blind in her only good eye. I called them and they said they had no availability to see her. I explained that she is their patient and suddenly went blind. The said they could " squeeze her in for a fee of $360.00!! An existing patient! Not a new emergency. They have been monitoring her yearly for 5 years and I've been paying for her meds through them. Through the grace of God, I found a wonderful eye specialist in homestead, florida. The office was accommodating, super busy , over booked but because of the situation they let me drop lovey off and only charged me $180.00 for NEW patient consultation! I took my dog here about two years ago for a cataract surgery. I wish I would not have gotten the surgery! That particular day they were short vet techs and he didn't have his sx until the very end of the day right before she was heading out the door. Post op, he apparently had some seizing and she didn't know what to do and wasn't going to stay to take care of him. The $3500 procedure racked on another $600 for an overnight neuro vet tech to watch him. Dr. Delgado has already spoken with the vet to do that before she recommended that doctor to me. I ended up dishing out over $5500 when everything was said and done. Although I haven't been perfect compliance with meds given, I've done pretty well for the most part! Two years later, he's blind with a retina detachment in the eye that was good before the sx and the one that was cloudy w cataracts is going blind again. He also has dry eye issues he suffers with now that he didn't have before. In future fur babies, I'd never get the surgery done unless it was life threatening nor do I recommend for someone debating if they should for quality of life for the animals. She handles the appointments and has been so genuine, caring, and above all HELPFUL and efficient! Jennifer has gone above and beyond to help me work around any issue and ensure that my doggie can be seen by the doctor. This place is AMAZING! Very professional even during this pandemic. They come out and pick up your pup while you stay in the car, and then the doctor comes out to speak to you. My little chihuahua was diagnosed with a corneal ulcer and some dry eyes. They sent me a few drops, antibiotics, and a cone. Called to get a basic estimate on cherry eye, which is a very common thing and they refused to give an estimate, instead want me to come in and waste my time for a consultation that will cost 150 and then they said they will tell me. I've used them before and they are very expensive and weren't upfront with total cost of another surgery. Not happy and wouldn't recommend them at all. After several appointments with another eye specialist, they were still never able to give her an accurate diagnosis or treatment. Dr. Delgado and Dr. Keenan took great care of my cat. They thoroughly explained all of my options with his care and followed up with me regarding all of my concerns. My cat is shy and was not willing to leave his crate, so the doctors were very patient with him and played with him until he made his way out. It was a bit scary to think he may have cancer, but I appreciated the doctors' candor. While specialty clinics can be quite pricey, the care and attention made the experience smoother. After being recommended here by my vet because my kitten had cloudy eyes, I decided to reach out and make an appt. I couldn't make a reservation for over a week and a half, which seemed long. When we arrived we were promptly sent to a room, but we waited for over 1/2hr for the vet tech and then another 15min for the actual vet. Too long to be waiting! Ultimately, the vet determined that there was nothing to do for my kitten and just to monitor the situation. So we go to pay and they charged us $95 for the consultation, $30 for an eye stain, and $35 for a pressure test. $160 to say my kitten was fine?! I asked what the pressure test was and the lady said it occurred when the vet blew air over the cat's eyes. $35 for blowing air?! They even asked when I would like to come back for another check up!! #never Now, I am going to have to have a serious conversation with my regular vet to ask why the hell they would send me to this place... read more

I adopted a sweet Rat Terrier last September who had eye issues. One eye had cataracts and needed eye drops 2x/day. The other eye had a purulent discharge when she was picked up by the rescue and I was told it was enucleated by eye physicians at the original rescue, long before she came to AEGs. I continued her care with Animal Eye Guys, specifically Dr Swinger. Whenever I called their office I was courteously treated by the staff and if I needed the Dr. on call, he responded within 2-3 hrs. On all her visits I was given a typed visit summary which went over what was done, what needed to be done, and the meds needed. The vet tech assisting at the visit was always polite and inquired to make sure all my questions answered and needs met. Dr. Swinger was particularly open to answering my questions. My girl needed eye surgery because the "enucleated" socket was beginning to have drainage. Dr. Swinger went in to discover a rotting eyeball and 3rd eye lid were still present and her eyelid had simply been sutured over by her previous eye Dr. Review of her chart is a lesson in unprofessional eye care, with incorrect and illegible handwritten notes to downright incorrect information. I have been in medicine for over 50 yrs. and review of her previous eye care as documented on her chart is appalling. I am very grateful Dr. Swinger was able to clean up the mess. She has more energy now. Her suture line is clean, well aligned without drainage. She is now a pup in a lot less pain. I am eternally grateful to AEG and Dr. Swinger specifically for doing a truly professional job on my girl. As if that wasn't enough, AEG gave me a break on the billing because my girl was a rescue. They have my highest recommendation. And my deepest gratitude. My girl has a new lease on life now!! Thanks, to you all!! read more
