My boyfriend and I recently got our beautiful German Shepard pup Bailey from this store and are extremely pleased! Usually I wouldn't purchase from a store like this, but we instantly fell in love with her! Her health is great, and she is sweet and loving! My only complaint is that we were promised a complimentary vet visit and it turned into an 80 dollar visit instead! Still not a bad price, just unexpected! In early April, 2013, I purchased a 4 month old male Papillion from this establishment. Within 48 hours from bringing him home, he went into a hypoglycemic seizure. Animal Kingdom was immediately notified and rushed the puppy to a recommended veterinarian. I had purchased a warranty as well for the puppy with conditions that it be seen by a vet within the first 5 business days as well and this seizure occurred well within that timeframe. The puppy was seen by the vet who ran tests to discover that Alfie (puppy) had a URI/Kennel Cough infection, Giardiasis and Coccidiosis parasite infections which caused the hypoglycemic seizure. He was hospitalized for 4 days and given IV fluids and medications. Two days following his release, he again had severe diaharrea and would not eat. He was then hospitalized for 7 days. The total veterinarian bill was over $1,300.00. Additionally, the kennel cough went on and had to be treated for 10 additional days. The warranty administrator for Animal Kingdom, PAWS, is refusing to honor the warranty and is stating that it does not cover hypoglycemia - even in light of the vet report clearly outlining the seizure resulted from the parasite infections he clearly had to have had on the date of purchase. My little puppy almost died twice from these parasite infections that should have been caught and treated prior to his sale. The store was notified immediately when he first got ill just 2 days after his purchase and denied any prior problems, and never checked on his well being after, or since. I would not recommend purchasing a pet from such a unsympathetic and grossly negligent pet store and I plan on turning the matter over to local news investigators, in my attempt to be reimbursed for the medical costs. read more

Wow, I'm am very disappointed in this store! I took my son in and we asked to see a husky, the girl we asked was extremely rude! She put her finger up and said "you're going to have to wait". No problem it was a Saturday and there were several people in the store. However, After standing and watching her help other customers for over 15 minutes, we decided to leave. After visiting the Gilbert puppies in love at San Tan mall, and being treated with kindness, and respect from every employee, any time of the day, busy or not, it was disheartening to to see and be treated so horribly at this location. If I can give this store a negative star I would after how we were treated today! I have bought two dogs from this company. 1 from animal kingdom and 1 from puppies and love. We went today to look at a female English bulldog that we saw online because we wanted to add to our English family! When we ask one of the "customer service reps" with blue hair to see the puppy because we were interested. Rudely asked what our intentions were. My husband politely responded we were interested in the dog and wanted to see how she was before we considered buying her. She rudely replied we don't have any room for you. When I turned to look at the rooms two rooms were open! My husband said we would wait. The blue hair rep turned around to ask her coworker if she should show us the dog and the coworker said it's up to you if you want to take out the dog and show them all annoyed. After the blue hair rep walked away and we didn't see her after that. We finally looked at the front cashier desk which stood 4 more reps that just stared and didn't ask anything. That's fine we went to puppies and love at san tan mall! We bought our new fur baby and we are so glad we did! This place is trash and highly recommend going to the San Tan store! DO NOT BUY AMIGOS KITCHENS DOG TREATS. Sure they're cute, but both treats that I bought stained my rug blue and green. No dog treats should ever have that much food dye in them, and I should not have to scrub my floor after my dog eats one. I'm ashamed that I allowed my dog to eat that. read more

Me and my girlfriend recently poked our heads in here checking out some dogs. We found out puppy instantly almost, a little white and black shih-tzu. We weren't able to get him that day so we went back the next night to get him and Jason helped us out with the paper work the application for credit on the dog process he explained everything we needed to know. Got us in and out of there as fast as possible with still getting the information all across to us. He was kind explained everything and made sure all of our questions we had were answered. We recently got a puppy from here. We got great costumer service. The employees knew a lot about the breeder and was able to give us lots of information regarding the family tree. They treat their puppies with care and give them the attention they need. Our puppy is very happy and healthy. They were very accommodating to us bring our current dog in to meet with the puppy. We are slightly concerned that they do not enforce sanitising your hands when you first meet with the potential puppy. read more

I have been thinking on adding to my family and with all Brian's help, he made that possible. He went above and beyond to make the process easy. He answered all my questions. Dont buy here! Go to actual owners. Their service is ok but we had bought a husky from here around late February. He was sick so we agreed to wait until he(husky) was cleared of from the vet. After waiting a week we came in to pick him up because we were told but they wouldn't let me hold our husky till after I signed all the paperwork. Shortly after we brought our husky home. We noticed he had a bad cough. Then came diarrhea and finally vomiting. We rushed him to a vet hospital to get him checked out to realize that he was still sick. Now paying medicine for what he has. It was to late and he had got all my other dogs sick. It's a battle at the moment to get everything done with all this sickness. read more

I'll give one star because the animals looked happy and well cared for and were absolutely adorable. Unfortunately we received terrible service at the AZ Mills location. It was the day after Christmas 2013 and granted, there were a lot of people around, but every employee guarded the animals with a scowl. There was no welcoming feeling here. They had such adorable baby animals, it was all we could do to look....I knew we were going to end up walking out of there with a baby bunny under our arm. We had been looking for the right one and it looked like we found it. I was caught up looking at the puppies and my daughter and my neice got the approval, from me, to pick out a bunny. When they went to pick out a bunny an employee came and shut the lid on their hands and said "can't you read, don't touch the animals!" My daughter was humiliated because she is special needs and she thought that now everyone knew she had trouble reading. She came running to find me, and when she told me, while crying, what was said to her and my neice, I thought they must be overreacting. So when I went over to the bunnies I opened the bunny cage and i was greeted with rudeness from yet another employee asking if there was anything she could help me with, as she had already told the girls that customers were not allowed to hold the animals. Why are the cages open? How is someone supposed to bond with an animal when they have a smug employee standing over them? It became clear that my girls were correct in how they were treated. I closed the lid and told the employee that "No, we will buy our rabbit elsewhere." It is beyond asinine for a pet store to try to sell animals, at ridiculously high prices, and not allow people to freely get to know the pets they intend to buy. When we left we had all employee eyes on us like we were criminals. I understand employees need to be around to supervise but this place is takes it too far. We will stick to our favorite pet stores where employees appear to enjoy their jobs and the people they serve. Pratts Pet Store & Feed Market and Choice Pet Market are wonderful stores that allow you to freely touch, hold and pet the animals they are trying to sell and they also have a friendly inviting staff. Why would anyone shop at a store that is so over priced and unfriendly to the public. I understand the argument of "insurance costs" but if that is the case then how do other pet stores like Pratts Pets and Choice Pet Market do it? read more

I cannot stress how poorly this place treats its animals. I went there in July, and saw a very sick Yorkshire Terrier puppy that had been sold, it had green crust built up around its nostrils and was coughing violently. I went back in October, and it was even worse, almost all of the puppies I had seen there had the same thing. No puppy mills doesn't mean no sick dogs, and especially if they don't care about the living creatures that they sell just like they would cellphones, purses, shoes, sunglasses. . . etc. YOU GET IT, right? Then you should avoid places like that. I won't ever say I regret getting my Yorkie from a puppy store that too boasted "no puppy mills" because she is beautiful, healthy (from day one), and the little energizer bunny of our household. Just know, I didn't get her from this Animal Kingdom, and for a good reason. I will be adopting from a shelter next though, for it is only fair that I can save a life too. Don't look down on others for not adopting, only encourage them to make a different decision next time. We all make decisions that not everyone will agree with, but it's all part of freedom of will. I exercise my freedom to stay away from this location until I see a cleaner and more healthy environment for all of the furry friends there. read more

Stay far away from this place! We bought a puppy from this animal kingdom and have had nothing but problems with her. They sold us the puppy with a upper respitory infection when they said it was gone. Their in house vet did not take a stool sample from the puppy before we bought it either. She has intestinal parasites and we have been dealing with them ever since we bought her and they aren't going away. Trying to get a hold of a the claims department was nearly impossible, it takes months to get your money back just for one visit and we still haven't receieved our refund. We've had to do several visits so far. The employee who sold us the dog was nice , but calling the store afterwords to speak to someone the employees were rude and not wanting to help. I HIGHLY do not recommend this place. read more

Normally I run with bad reviews but decided to get my puppy here anyway. He looked pretty heathy except he had a cold for a while and they wouldn't let me take him til he got better. So that was actually a good thing. He's about 2 years old now and he was 4 months when I got him. He's the best dog I've ever had and very healthy. He had reoccurring ear infections when I got him for the first year but they finally stopped. The pet store is decent most dogs look ok. You can tell when a puppy is unhealthy by how it acts. They are expensive but I would do it again. It's a good store so I'm not sure why so many bad reviews. Not perfect obviously but what puppy store is with "puppy mills"... My girlfriend and I came by in the first week of June looking for a dog and expand our family of 2. The high prices scared us away but one puppy in particular caught our attention and we couldn't leave the store without him. I am not writing this review to bash the employees that work there. They went above and beyond in helping us adopt this new family member. Cleanliness was great as well. The reason why give this place a bad review is because the puppy, Shadow, we adopted was falsely given his age. He was marked as 3 months old but the vet we went to said there's no way he was. They believe he was too young to be given vaccines so hence the false age. He was given to us as "This dog we are selling to you is in good health. Take him to a vet if his is not then under our guarantee we will reimburse you for the money you spent." He came out positive for 2 parasites and an ear infection. I One star this place because of their cramped spaces for dogs. The breeders behind this just breeding dogs and pushing them out the door for the money they get. Adopt from here, guarantee you that you will end up saving a life from Animal Kingdom. read more

We were treated very poorly at this Arizona Mills Location by the staff and the store was very dirty. We asked an older woman with short hair and glasses if we could see a Dachshund. After I held him for a minute we asked if we could play with him for a bit in the room so we could see how well he behaved with our children- she replied go ahead and pointed us to the direction of the room. She then told us our kids were not to pick up the puppy. We escorted ourselves to the room and she came in a few minutes later informing us the dog wasn't available to go home for a few days because it was underweight? The dog looked perfectly healthy to us? Anyway she continued to have a cold uncaring your wasting my time attitude towards us until my husband had enough and just told her here take your dog we will get the other one..he then mentioned after she scooped up the dog and she was about to leave the room that we were there narrowing our options down and it was between the dachshund that they had or one we saw at Arrowhead and that we were there for a replacement dog. WOW did that change her attitude and she then tried to have a conversation and can you believe it actually smiled at us for the first time. TOO Late- we left immediately and went to the Arrowhead store where we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by Gaby. It is truly incredible how differently we were treated at arrowhead and PV compared to this location.....and clearly the staff does not know how to properly upkeep the store. My suggestion to puppies n love/ Animal Kingdom (same company) is that they send Joann or the male manager at Arrowhead over to clean up that store and get the employees trained on customer service.
