Animal has been opened a little over a year now and it is fine dinning at its best. This place is expensive so get over it. Make a reservation, you just must. Have your hotel do it or call them. It is owned by CDMZ I think, it reminds me of one. The moment you walk in you are made to feel comfortable and happy. It is quite beautiful. The service is true fin dinning service. You will want for nothing. The entire staff is great. Dressy, but business casual is just fine. Go in a armless tee and cargo shorts and you will be out of place. They have an amazing selection of food. They have sushi, empanadas, steaks, tacos and all sorts of small plates. We get a bunch and share. Their sushi is so fresh and their steak is cooked to perfection. They even have some great soups now and again. There is something for everyone here. Parking is valet for a fee. It is a wonder, it really is.

Animal Tijuana, is a Mexican and Japanese fine dining restaurant at the Shops at Landmark. It is located on the upper floor in a mesmerizing dining room with eye catching and stunning, vintage chandeliers. There is soft music in the background and captivating decor, all around. The moment you walk in, there are multiple servers greeting you and escorting you to your table. You know right away that it's going to be a memorable evening. I actually did not know that there was Japanese fare here too, and I tried to concentrate on the local Mexico dishes. I am not a big eater so in order to taste a variety I tried to choose appetizers and small bites. The evening began with complimentary salsas, three of them, with chips. What is unique is that their chips are long rectangular strips of different composition. The salsas were fresh. I liked the green one the best and once I had finished these, they brought another batch of chips, but these had a mild but satisfying cheese taste. Both of the chip varieties were spectacular. My first choice for food, was the almond crusted green beans that are drizzled with sweet and sour sauce. This clearly had a Japanese tint to it. It is a large potion I only finished half of it. My only comment on this dish is that I couldn't taste the almonds. It looked more like it was a tempura type fry. The sweet and sour sauce dominated the dish. My second selection, was the popular (according to my server), the Taco Richi (ribbeye, cheese crust, pork cracklings, and avocado). Comes as one piece. This was superb. Finally, more Tacos, the Beef Steak Gaonera (Hand-made tortillas, guacamole and pico de gallo). Comes as two pieces. This too was equally good. I also succumbed and ordered a side order of french fries too. At the end, they surprised me with a complimentary dessert. A small potion of their cheesecake, which had four caramelized macadamia nuts on top. It was different. Overall, it was a dining experience that was unmatched and one that can give LA restaurants, serious competition. I had at least five different servers taking care of me right through the night. Needless to say, the service was outstanding.

Animal recently opened up in Tijuana, but it brought all the energy and excellence it's known for in CDMX. You can feel the reputation--service is next-level. There are so many staff around to help that you literally don't want for anything. Water's filled, plates cleared, recommendations offered... it's all handled. The food? Incredible. I ordered the short rib and it was rich, tender, and packed with flavor. They've also got sushi, tacos, and all kinds of creative small plates. Definitely something for everyone! Great drink options too, whether you're into mezcal, wine, or something more playful. And the space itself is stunning. Super modern, but still warm. Fancy, but not too fancy, you know? Would be perfect for date night or just dinner with friends. If you've heard the hype--yep, it lives up to it. Can't wait to go back.

Went last week on Thursday for my 35th, wanted to see what the hype was about, alongside my family. The place is nice and the vibes are cool and all but the service is terrible. Our server never brought out my sisters dish, we basically all ate and she just watched us eat our dinner. We had to remind our server twice, he never apologized, he just blamed it on the cook. This made us think he had forgot to put in her order. Also, we were seated right at the entrance where all the traffic of the guests and servers was, made it a little uncomfortable.

Had a fantastic experience here for my first restaurant in Mexico. Terrific service (Thank you Omar!), delicious food and fun atmosphere. I had so many wonderful dishes, I can't wait to come back! The salmon ceviche is an absolute must try.

Portion for two adults.. so little.. total $300 dollars.. quality of meat was average

Over hyped over rated and portions are for children.. very disappointed I paid $300 dollars and had to buy more food after since the portions were tiny.. the pictures I posted is for 2 people.. specially the meat was so little and small for two people.. will never ever go back .. it felt like a scam.. a regular Korean or Japanese bbq in California is 10 times better quality than this restaurant and way cheaper...

This spot is coming with the killlaaah grindz!!!! Great food and great service! Our new favorite…read moretaco joint by far. Flavor is on point too. Had the adobada and the carne asada. Outdoor seating was super nice too. Hopefully one day we can make it to the original spot in TJ but overall will be back guaranteed!!! And definitely recommend!

Tacos El Franc is bueno and poppin! This place was busy, so you already know people are coming…read morethrough. I tried the carne asada, brisket, and lengua. All were pretty solid, but I was lowkey sad they took out the tripas!!! That's usually one of my go-to tacos! No mames guey! The tortillas were definitely a highlight fresh, warm, soft, and tasted really good. As far as the tacos overall though, I'd say they were good/okay, but not necessarily GREAT or something I'd be dreaming about the next day lol. Still enjoyed them though. Service was okay. One thing that threw me off is that since this is an actual sit-down spot, I thought they'd have hot sauce or salsa bottles at the tables. Apparently you have to go inside and grab the premade salsa in the little cups. I mean...it works vato but if we're sitting down eating tacos, throw some bottles on the table for us! Overall, solid spot. Fresh tortillas, good meat, poppin atmosphere, and I'd definitely eat here again. Just bring back the tripas and give us some hot sauce bottles!
