Went to Tijuana for a long weekend to see my favorite artist and in researching tacos spots, El Nuevo Poblano kept popping up so I had to make it my first stop. The tortillas for all tacos are hechas a mano with the exception of the Al pastor but you can ask them for hand made tortillas. I got 2 tacos de asada and a mulita chica de asada. When I tell you everything was HEAVENLY! Tijuana style tacos come with a ton of guacamole so be ready! The meat was incredibly juicy and tender and I ate every last bite. The service was excellent and super attentive. It's gets super busy but you have the option for to go and they even have a drive thru! Loooooved this place!

Drove to this place based on the recommendation of Lalo Villar from La Ruta de la Garnacha and boy, it was well worth it. The place is huge and bustling with and army of staff moving on every direction - pipping-hot food traveling to tables all over the place. From the moment you arrive, the sheer view of the meat spits, the smell of fresh steaks on the grills and handmade tortillas is a sight to behold. Had a couple of Tacos al Pastor, along with a Steak Quesadilla - both were huge and delicious! Definitely will go back and recommend to anyone looking for an authentic taco experience.

We went to Tacos el Nuevo Poblano this evening and it was fantastic. Both of us said to each other that they were the best tacos we've had in Tijuana (and we've had a lot of tacos). I had the carne asada tacos and they were filled with amazingly juicy asada, cilantro, onions and a big serving of tasty guacamole. My partner had the adobada tacos and they were amazing as well. It's a simple menu but they do a stellar job with the meats they specialize in. There was no line when we arrived but by the time we left there were a lot of people waiting to be seated. Tacos el Nuevo Poblano is a little further out from the typical tourist haunts since it's located in the Buena Vista area but it's well worth the slightly longer drive for the authentic food. We found the service to be friendly and prompt - all employees were busily working. From what we could tell there is only street parking in the neighborhood. All I can say is I can't wait to go back for more tacos soon!

Tacos are Always good! Service has improved. Restaurant is very clean and safe. I will definitely return many more times

Massive tacos. Freshest corn tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft and super thin. Basically just a vessel to hold everything in. Carne saada is a little fatty but you can barely tell. A mountain of fresh guacamole covers everything. You can't go wrong here.

All the fixings for the tacos

Food was great. Service was great too. They were busy but it didn't take long to get seated.

We ran into my hubby's coworker while in Tj, so he took us to what he thought is the best place for tacos! I was excited to try them out. Since it was past midnight, he said there weren't as many people as there normally would be- it was still pretty busy to me. There were two trompos of al pastor, and men grilling carne asada and a variety of other meats. I decided to order 2 tacos al pastor, a carne asada mulita, and a bottle of horchata. Everyone else ordered lots of tacos. There isn't much seating here, so everyone pretty much just stands around and eats. There are some condiments available, so I splashed some lime and added hot sauce to my tacos. The tacos were actually very tasty! I also enjoyed the mulita, but not as much as the tacos. Although the food was delicious, I'm still on the hunt for the best tacos in Tijuana.

Haha, all the tacos I ordered were so delicious! I especially enjoyed the adobada taco. When we ordered we told the kind server we wanted our tacos with everything (con todo). The adobada taco was super flavorful, juicy and addicting. It came with a complementary cilantro-looking sauce that made the taco even better. The Suadero was soft and flavorful as well with a spicy kick. The Asada was flavorful and came with lots of guacamole/avocado. They also give you a small plate full of limes and slices of radishes to enjoy with your food/tacos. It is a very spacious restaurant with a VIP side (maybe for locals or etc) and a regular side. Although they don't have beer they had a fridge filled with refreshing soft drinks. I highly recommend you try this place just a hop across the border, it is only a short uber ride away.

Las Ahumaderas is a collection of 5-6 taquerias on one side street off Blvd. Agua Caliente, one of the main thoroughfares in TJ. The taquerias offer very solid, relatively cheap tacos and tend to stay open until super late at night (often until 4 am). Las Ahumaderas is famously nicknamed "Taco Alley" and gained some international recognition after being featured one of Anthony Bourdain's travel and food shows. I've been several times but last stopped by Las Ahumaderas in September. The most popular spot there (and my personal favorite) is Las Tres Salsas - would highly recommend checking out that taqueria first if you've never been. The most highly regarded tacos here are the adobada (pork) tacos (my personal favorite as well). Ordered two adobada tacos, one suadero (cow belly) taco, and a Sprite. The nice thing about the food and drink at Ahumaderas is that a lot of the basic items are priced the same - each taco and the sprite were 45 pesos (around $2.50 USD) each. The tacos were all well-portioned, tasty, and filling (as usual). One thing a lot of tourists don't know is Las Tres Salsas has two levels, with the second level sometimes having a decent, relaxing view and atmosphere depending on the time of day. So I ordered and ate on the second floor (ordered from the server for that floor). Cash (dollars or pesos) are by far the most common method of payment but credit cards are also accepted at Las Tres Salsas and I think the other taquerias at Ahumaderas as well. If you don't speak Spanish there's usually someone at the register who speaks enough English to get by though the server I had that afternoon happened to speak very good English. Right after Las Tres Salsas I went to Tacos El Paisano, one of the other taquerias in the establishment. Ordered 1 asada (steak) taco, 1 cabeza (cow's head) taco, and a Fresca soda. Like Las Tres Salsas, all of the items were 45 pesos each. The tacos here were also good, though not as good as Las Tres Salsas; both of the tacos fell apart a bit due to being slightly soggy (though again they were good). I'm a picky eater but there are a wide variety of tacos, quesadillas, and other items to try between the handful of taquerias at Ahumaderas. Las Ahumaderas is about a 13-15 minute walk down Agua Caliente from Telefonica Gastro Park, another excellent foodie location in TJ. Must visit if you've never been before!

Fuimos a este local hoy 21 de Mayo. Los tacos estaban buenos pero el servicio no fue lo que esperaba. The Zona Rio location has a small dining area, that is very popular with both the locals and visitors. It is easy to see why. Their menu does not over dose on the standard morning and afternoon items that you would find anyplace. However, this is the first restaurant I've been to in Tijuana, that does not have an English menu.... so I had to labor through the Spanish menu. But, they do have unique dishes, thus making the visit adventurous, because it is difficult to choose. I went back and forth, and finally settled for their 3-egg omelet with asparagus and sheep cheese. It came with refried beans, strings of carrots and beets, small fired up tostadas and fresh tortillas (both blue and yellow corn). A small side of soggy chilaquiles was also served. A small flavorful salsa tray is also provided with 3 options, ranging from mild to hot. The asparagus spears were thin, cut up into small pieces and sautéed with mild spices. The outer egg covering soft and not overdone. If anything, there was too much sheep cheese, in certain portions of the omelet. I say this because it was an asparagus omelet, and it, instead of the cheese, should have been the star. Still, it did not take away from the other commendable aspects of the complete entree and its accompaniments. Before the meal, a small refreshing fruit plate is served.
