While out and about today I found myself wanting to go for a walk. Being a ways from my usual…read morewalking spots, I searched Yelp to find a nearby park. Robsion Park was close by ,so hubby and I found our way there. The park is directly behind the Lyndon post office and parking can be accessed using the driveway beside the post office. Posted hours for the park stated "Dawn to dusk." I was surprised by how well-maintained the park is and how much larger it was than it appeared at first glance. There is ample paved, private parking. At the entrance to the park are two large play areas for children. One appears to be for the younger set and the other for older children. There is a half-mile paved, level walking trail around the perimeter of the park with a short paved bisecting walk if one doesn't wish to go all the way around. All of the walking path has trees lined on either side for shade. There are multiple large, grassed areas for volleyball, badminton, hacky sack, soccer or anything else one could desire. There are covered picnic areas and restrooms. The restrooms were open for use, but I didn't go in them. There were panic/help buttons throughout the park for use in emergency situations. This park is perfect for dog walking and also is a perfect park for those who may require level, paved paths. I look forward to returning with my dogs!

There is a very nice walking trail that splits into different directions and can keep you busy for quite a while. I was please to see how neat and clean Robsion was, and it definitely looked like it got its proper maintenance every now and then. There's also a couple nice playgrounds for kids, along with an awesome-looking splash pad to cool off in!

The long walkway goes along the river next to the playground. The playground itself is quite big, most of it on soft mat ground. There are multiple sections, each have different activities such as slides, ladders, ramps, sliding rails. The park of was mostly clean but some areas were showing signs of aging. But overall the park is really popular among locals. Lots of kids were in park when we visited the playground with our daugher.

Masks are still required as they are at all playgrounds and a 6 foot distance must be maintained from others until further notice.

I like hiking. A lot. And I like hiking at new and different places…read more Charlestown State Park is....okay. They have some really nice trails, spread out and across a large area. There is plenty of parking. And I believe that camping is an option. You have to pay to get in, which is fine. But I am highly annoyed that out of state cars have to pay more. Once when I went though, it was in the off season and there was no one working at the entrance gate. We were hoping to pay with a card, and it appeared to be an honor system for paying the $9 on days when the park is open, but no one is working. I was enticed by the promise of Rose Island ruins (a former amusement park/resort. Not actually an island). But as interesting as it sounds, it was disappointing. It has been all cleaned up and sign-ified and it is more meh than I had hoped. I would probably come back more often if it was more like $5 to get in. But with Louisville's copious parks, state and otherwise, and Bernheim about the same distance drive, I'm inclined to stay on my side of the river.

I stopped by Community Park and it's a really nice spot to spend some time outside. The park has a…read morebaseball field, basketball courts, and a walking trail, which makes it great whether you want to play some sports or just get out for a relaxing walk. It has nice scenery and birds to check out in trees. It's a clean and well kept park, and there's usually something going on with people playing ball or getting some exercise. It's not a huge park, but it has a good mix of activities and is a great place for the local community to gather. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the St. Matthews area.

This is mainly a baseball park, but still a nice place to take a short walk if you're nearby at the…read moremall or strip malls. They have a really nice and new-looking playground too. There's also a basketball court on the other side. There isn't really a set walking track, it is pretty much cross-shaped where every turn has a dead end. But it still has a big enough space to get plenty of steps in.

This is our favorite park to go to as a family. There are tables and plenty of seating to watch play (but play with them too!). There's a big open area for lawn games and also a splash pad with more seating and a pavilion you can rent for parties. All things enclosed and pets or bikes are not allowed. In addition to this there is a massive lawn to play things like soccer or other sports, great paved walking or biking paths and it even goes into the woods where you can play in the creek. There are plenty of great trails here, paved and dirt, and a hand-full of fun geocaches if you download the app. Very amazing park!
