Selection is plentiful but some of the merch are obviously fake/not authentic. Service is a hit or miss, mostly a miss. I saw another customer exchange their duplicate gacha toy and I asked the girl worker who told me she will exchange if you get duplicates, nothing else. Lo and behold, I got a duplicate but because I "opened" it (not the package but from the gacha plastic ball), she can't exchange it. There was no tape or seal around the gacha ball. I asked her how would you know if you got a duplicate... her reply? "Sometimes you can see through the hole". On another visit, this same worker didn't let me choose my kuji prize (from the lower prizes with multiple options). She just handed me a random one but if you play kujis you should know that customers are able to choose from what is available. Never supporting this business again read more

Very hilariously, when you drive a bit more deeply into Diamond Plaza, the sign for Anime Station is calls out to you in its eye catching DBZ font. This is another one of their store branches, with the other one being in Little Tokyo and I'm glad Rowland Heights gets another source of anime goodness (here's hoping that they have events just like the one in LT too). My inherent fear for visiting any anime store is that it'd be a cesspool for normies or 80% Funko Pops, but I'm glad this isn't one of them! There's only a small corner of them lol. But I digress. This is a pretty solid anime merch store and a great place to visit and look around once you're walking off a meal here. There are crane machines, the gachapon token machines, mystery gift bags, prize figures, larger scale figures, keychains/straps, plushies of all sizes, stickers, anime themed and general snacks from Japan, and other miscellaneous goods (acrylic stands, pop sockets, wafer trading card packs, etc.). From what I could see a large number of goods are for these series: Demon Slayer, Spy x Family, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, DBZ, Naruto, Re: Zero, Chainsawman, Kirby, and Vocaloid (obviously mostly Miku). There were also some goods for the Promised Neverland, Death Note, Bleach, Attack on Titan, Ghibli, and Poke'mon. Sadly only 1 FGO item there (Mordred noodle stopper prize figure), but that's alright. Most interesting to me were the anime themed and imported snacks from Japan, mainly the oppai pudding (lol) and the Spy x Family/Poke'mon print cookies. They also surprisingly had some pricey (understandable) goods from Duffy and Friends Disney Asia series which are a bit harder to come by. There's also a life sized (probably) Zoro statue from One Piece for pictures. Overall a decent anime store in the area. Note: It does get SUPER hot in the store but they have some fans turned on throughout. Hoping that this is a temporary thing since they've just opened and eventually they can get a stronger AC system going. read more

Had just left Infinity Claws, and as a die hard anime fan, I decided to pay Anime Station a visit. As a vlogger I enjoy documenting my visits to arcades, hobby shops and restaurants. I was taking pictures of their claw machines because I was excited to see they had some, when suddenly an employee came up to me to tell me that photos and video recording are not allowed (which I'm surprised now that I looked at reviews because there are many reviews with photos). Anyway, respectfully, I apologized and explained that it was my first time there. I later went to the register to purchase (overpriced) tokens for the claw machines (extremely rigged), and the clerk at the register didn't look too happy to help me. While I was playing the claw machines I turned to see the employees looking at me and laughing. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ignored it, thinking they could have been laughing at something else. They did have a lot of cool anime collectibles though so that was really cool to see, and frankly the only pro. The cons were the poor customer service and their overpriced merchandise. I wanted to love this place, because it gave me shops at Little Tokyo vibes, but my experience there was an extreme disappointment. I am hoping this was an isolated incident, and if I'm in the area again MAYBE I'll give this place another chance, but it's definitely not at the top of my list of places I want to revisit. Tl/dr: Employees are rude and unfriendly, their merchandise is overpriced (some of it even fake), and the claw machines are rigged. read more

I love coming to this anime store to browse as their selection is pretty big however their prices are a bit high for some of the stuff there. I like to go there for the mofusand figures! Last time I went unfortunately they were out of stock though. If you like Sonny angels they have a very wide selection! In terms of the claw machines they are all payout based instead of skill based which is disheartening and staff won't rearrange things for you if the items are out of reach of the claw. The staff when I went were very nice and friendly which made the experience good. Depending on what you're looking for you can get things that are hard to find in normal anime stores while others you can find cheaper online or at other stores. Just always keep a lookout and it's fun to browse here! read more

My wife really likes the ufo catchers and they have the mini ones with studio ghibli dolls. You have to exchange money for their tokens. We had our eye on one of them to the side. the claw could not reach. In retrospect we should've aimed for something else or even just skip the store entirely bc the staff member was not helpful. We told him what happened, and he replied saying that likely a previous customer dropped it out of reach and that the store only rearranged prizes in the mornings. Super cute and extremely well curated anime store. Really great layout and good variety of items/fandoms. Some of the small goods (stickers/keychains) I don't believe are 100% licensed, but all the figures and plushies look legit. Prices vary - some of the common stuff, like nendoroids, you can get better prices elsewhere, but other stuff (like the Duffy items from Tokyo Disney) are very competitively priced. I also appreciate how many ichiban kujis of all different fandoms they have running simultaneously, unlike Bookoff that only does one at a time (and they're all shonen...) Way way way out of my way, but definitely worth the trip! read more

I went this afternoon with my daughter to Anime Station to check out the blind boxes and what was in stock. My daughter was excited to see what they have and to check out the store. When we got into the store, we saw two girls behind the register just chit chatting about personal stuff. They were not friendly and didn't even greet us like the duo snack shop a few doors down. When we were browsing , I heard one of the girls say "what the fu*k do white people like". I felt that was not professional and it was said in front of my young daughter. Cursing and a racist comment, not good. There was no apology at least for her comments, they just kept talking and didn't seem interested in running the store. It was evident since no one offered to help us. Overall, definitely not a good experience and will not recommend this place to my friends and family anymore. However, I can tell the business owner loves his store, a lot of great merchandise and it's beautiful inside but the customer service and staffing was disappointing. read more

I've visited three times to pick up some random cute stuff and enjoy the claw machines, but each time, the staff at the counter has been unhelpful, rude, and quite snarky. Stumbled upon this store after grabbing lunch in the plaza and as a fellow anime lover I had to check it out. I loved seeing that they had more japanese imported goods compared to the generic merch you could find at any other store. My favorite was definitely the Disney Duffy and mofusand merch because it's so unique and hard to get here in the United States. Staff was also super helpful in answering questions if needed. Not sure what all these poor reviews are about? I have been to anime station countless times and have received great service every single time, regardless of the worker. Always friendly, and even excited to see what blind box collectibles I get! All of their signs are in clear view for customers to see their prices for tokens, refund policies, and their rules about images/opening boxes un-purchased: I really feel like the complaints about this come down to customer error. I loved this store! We were some of the first customers and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I got a few AOT and Demon slayer pins/keychains/POP figure. I was also given a "mystery bag " for purchasing $40 or more...and I loved my extra mystery freebies. They were random products from the store inside my mystery bag. So awesome.
