Their restaurant is very cute! It's both Anju Above and Epiphany Farms and they have an upstairs and downstairs portion. The ambience is super cozy and chill.

Cool place! A fun atmosphere, loved the round table for a group of 8! Service was quick, but a bummer how they brought out each entree one by one at different times rather than all together. I had the pickle martini which was very good! Not too strong of a pickle flavor. For my main I had the ramen. This was lacking flavor. The broth tasted like water, I could have made better ramen at home. Tried some of the pizza which was also average. Would come here for drinks again but not food

Gucci Cali sushi roll - meh. The sushi rice is not your typical kind. The lemon puree on the side was insanely potent.

Average Asian Fusion food. This place is located upstairs of Epiphany Farms. As such you can order from both menus if you like. We might come back to try some different items. The Anju Dumplings with pork (steamed dumplings) were great. The Pork Steam Bun (Bao Bun) was alright. The shredded pork filling wasn't the usual type you'd find in a Bao Bun. And that is a hint of things to come. This is a Fusion place. They do things differently here. The Gucci Cali sushi roll was not that great. The sushi rice is not your typical kind. The overall flavor was not cohesive. It really tasted like a side of crab with a side of rice. The lemon puree on the side was insanely potent. They have a large variety of wines as well as craft beers on tap. We got a bottle of white wine and it wasn't too cold.

Wow wow wow! What an unexpectedly wonderful meal! The Mega Roll was incredibly delicious! The eel and salmon with avocado and pickled veggies was one of the best sushi rolls I have had! This roll alone was worthy of a five-star experience! Highly recommended!! And the yellowfin tuna hand roll was very good as well. A little messy to eat... or maybe that was just me. Either way, I would recommend this roll as well! And my drink of choice was a Rhu-Barb Drag Race (see what they did there?) and it was a fantastic flavor-filled concoction that tempted me to order a second (although I refrained on this occasion since I'll be in BLM a couple more days)! The menu is clearly marked as to which items are gluten-free... and my server Leonel was knowledgeable as well. He even offered that they could remove certain ingredients to make other items gluten-free as wel! Overall rating: *****FIVE STARS***** Gluten-free rating: *****FIVE STARS*****

Wanted to love it more. We ordered a bit too much, the sushi rolls are big, but took home left overs. There wasn't anything special or flavorful with the rolls. They were basically each the same, green monster, tuna and spicy salmon. Wanted more variety. Didn't get the spice in spicy salmon, maybe because I took the jalapeño off but thought there would be spice elsewhere in the roll. I didn't love the Thai lime chicken wings because you have to dip them yourself in the sauce. Sauce was pretty good though and bought a bottle to take home. My favorite was the banchan starter. It's a cold dish but I liked the texture and flavor. Service was good, they have good drinks and the vibe in the place is warm and welcoming.

You need to eat at this restaurant if you're in Bloomington, the vibe, food, and service is amazing. The theme of the restaurant is small plates you can share which allows you to try a wide variety on the menu like Chinese dumplings and buns to Japanese sushi and Raman to Italian pizza to American donuts. Out of everything we ordered the tofu donuts were the best and I would come back just for those donuts. But the steamed pork buns, vegetables dumplings, margarita pizza, and mussels were excellent. There's plenty more on the menu that I want to try so for sure we'll be back.

Great service, ambiance, and food! If you like ramen, I highly recommend this place! There are a lot of other foods for you to try as well.

What's wait time like here in a Friday night (around 9)?

For 2 people, between 30 to 45 minutes has been my experience around peak time (7 to 8pm). By 9pm I think the wait is shorter

I think Kobe Revolving Sushi is the first and only revolving sushi spot in Bloomington/Normal…read more We're from Chicago, so we've been to similar places up by us, but our daughter goes to ISU, and we love sushi, so we've decided to give it a try. The place is very clean and contemporary. Very on brand for a place like this. It anchors the end of a strip mall, and is kind of tucked back out of the way, but it's a good sized space, and we dined on a Saturday night. It was full, but we only waited about 5 minutes for a booth. Our server did and great job of explaining how it all works, and even thought they don't bring you any food, she was right there for our drink refills, and was available if we had any questions about anything. So it's a fixed price for plates off the conveyor belt. $3.50/plate. This includes sushi, hot and cold appetizers and desserts. Just know that any plate, no matter what's on it, is $3.50. So whether you grab chucks of canned pineapple or a rainbow roll - it's $3.50. There's other items on the iPad you can order that have different price points, and if you miss something you wanted on the conveyor belt, and you don't want to wait for it to come back around, you can order it off the iPad and the cool little car will bring it right to your table. It's still $3.50 too. When you're done with your plates, you deposit them into a slot at the end of the table and it counts it and adds it to your bill on the iPad. Pretty easy. Every 12 plates your deposit allows you to play a 50/50 game on the iPad. We got to 12, but didn't win... which is fine. Sooooooo..... how about the food?!? Strip mall sushi is hit and miss. Especially in Chicago and surrounding burbs. There are some really great sushi places that are very unassuming. And there are others that are a "one and done". We've never had any other sushi in Bloomington/Normal, so we don't have much to compare this to. It was all very good. Often times at "gimmicky" places like this, you don't get the highest quality product because they are relying on the novelty to keep you coming back. Good news though, because the sushi at Kobe Revolving really does stand on its own. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but it's very good - which is more than I expected when we walked in.

Review Visit: February 23rd, 2016…read more A strange mix of Taco Bell and your traditional Mexican restaurant. When it came to write this post for La Bamba, I had no idea how to tackle it. But, here we go! La Bamba was recommended by my friend Chad. He said he would go out of the way to stop there for some food while out doing family stuff. He said he had a lot of nostalgia for the place from his college days. With his recommendation and his hype, I decided to check it out while exploring Bloomington/Normal. It wasn't too hard to find due to the giant sign on the side of the building. My girlfriend wasn't hyped like I was because I always get excited to try a place that was recommended to me from a close friend. We headed in and were shocked at what La Bamba had inside. First off, the artwork on the walls was hilarious. I hope that was their intent because I couldn't help but chuckle at them as I stood awkwardly in the middle of the restaurant. You can see what I mean below. If they had some cultural or heritage meaning to them and they aren't mean to be funny, I do apologize for my laughing. After I got over that, I noticed there was a sushi bar. Now, of all the things I have been surprised by, this is up there. I'm not a fan of seafood so I was in no way tempted to even try the sushi bar. I am sure the food is good, but just not for me. I was here for some Mexican food. We both ended up ordering one of the combo meals. My choice was the mini burrito with rice, beans and a soda. My girlfriend ordered the cheese quesadilla that came with the same sides. My experience has taught me that a mini portion from a Mexican restaurant is still a massive amount of food and I hoped that La Bamba followed my previous experiences. We snagged a table and waited for our food to come out. So, did La Bamba live up to the hype? No, not in my opinion. The meal ran about $11 after tax and like I expected, the mini burrito was still more than enough to fill me up with the help of the heaping pile of sides. So, for your money, the amount of food is ridiculous. But why didn't it live up to the hype? Everything was dry or tasted like it sat in the warmer for a bit too long. From my experience when that happens, food tends to dry out and lose some of it's flourish, one could say. While it wasn't a struggle to choke down the mediocre food, it wasn't as pleasant as I was hoping. I do acknowledge that maybe we just got some old food as my girlfriend had the same issue with her sides that I had with my entire meal. Perhaps a future visit would yield different results, hopefully tastier than this visit. I could see how some drunk college kids would love this place. It's got some appeal to it that fills that void that being drunk brings with it. From the goofy art on the walls, the random sushi bar, the ability to customize Mexican food in a million combinations, there is some charm to the place. I just think I need to try it again during a busy time so the food is freshly prepared instead of sitting in a warmer all afternoon.

We started with the sashimi plate. The fish was fresh- including tuna, salmon, shrimp- placed over small celery bites. A variety of sauces were dotted around the plate's edge. The dish would have benefited from some ginger and more sauce. Our entrees included Pork Coppa Ramen- which was a solid dish- strong beef broth flavor and the sambal (chili sauce) -a few cents extra- added a good depth of flavor. The fish bowl- tuna, salmon- with rice, pickled veggies, and gim (Korean seaweed) was tasty. It was even tasty the next day cold out of the fridge. Our server Jack did a nice job- we sampled their roasted carrots- and they were actually our favorite bite. We also had the potato graten and they were tasty- but could have been easily skipped with our Asian dinner vibe. The restaurant has a great eclectic historical vibe and was busy on a Friday night, but still felt spacious. The drink menu is a good selection- we enjoyed wine with dinner (a solid Pinot noir). I would definitely go back to have the pizza- which looked delicious at a couple of the neighboring tables. This is a great date night venue or girls night out.
