Our late night visit to Epiphany Farms/Anju was exceptional! A huge drink menu welcome us and we had the Beyond jalapeño cornbread for a starter, which proved to be quite yummy and not hot at all. We decided to go with the rustic pizzas that were delicious and unusual: harmony, Korean, chicken and loaded supreme. The crust tasted like it was from a woodfired oven and the Korean chicken pizza was so unusual and tasty with kimchi and pickled shiitake. The fresh from the forest mushroom side dish they gave us a special treat to us was quite a delicacy. Even the farm to table items they have for sale when you walk in to take home are a treat, Especially the homemade marshmallows! Ended with dessert of a fresh orange olive oil cake with just tremendous flavor and blood orange on the side and orange marmalade on the cake. It served exquisitely with a side of homemade ice cream that was to die for. We can't wait to come back! Our waitress, Lupe, treated us like family and was incredibly personal and warm. There's a lot to like about Epiphany Farms. The menu is interesting New American farm-to-table. You can get Asian cuisine, pizza, steaks, chicken, seafood. We started with the sashimi plate. The fish was fresh- including tuna, salmon, shrimp- placed over small celery bites. A variety of sauces were dotted around the plate's edge. The dish would have benefited from some ginger and more sauce. Our entrees included Pork Coppa Ramen- which was a solid dish- strong beef broth flavor and the sambal (chili sauce) -a few cents extra- added a good depth of flavor. The fish bowl- tuna, salmon- with rice, pickled veggies, and gim (Korean seaweed) was tasty. It was even tasty the next day cold out of the fridge. Our server Jack did a nice job- we sampled their roasted carrots- and they were actually our favorite bite. We also had the potato graten and they were tasty- but could have been easily skipped with our Asian dinner vibe. The restaurant has a great eclectic historical vibe and was busy on a Friday night, but still felt spacious. The drink menu is a good selection- we enjoyed wine with dinner (a solid Pinot noir). Epiphany Farms in Bloomington is soooo good! I had the pork steam buns and the Gucci Cali sushi roll. The pork buns had a slightly sweet flavor with a little kick of sriracha. The bread around them was so soft and delicious. The sushi roll had a lemon sauce that was amazing. The avocado and all the ingredients looked and tasted really fresh. I do wish there had been a little more lemon sauce, but it was still so good! I never thought in a million years I would ever eat something called a gooey beet cake, but that thing is absolutely amazing and so delicious. I don't know if I've ever experienced a dessert like it -- the taste is like nothing I've ever had before. Graduation season is in full swing, yet the large groups was no small feat for them on the weekend service... they kept apologizing for no reason. Food was timely, service attentive and flavors coupled with quality were outstanding. Pork belly that melts in your mouth, risotto that is creamy, rich and light at the same time. Let's not forgot the dumplings that exploded with flavor. At the recommendation we tried them fried, but I was skeptical, I did not want them greasy... I was wrong they were crispy bits of heaven. The Pork Boa was super delicious, so much so we forgot to take a picture. And that corn flakes chicken is nothing like what my mom made, the chili sauce with pickled onions cuts through the heaviness like butter. And speaking of butter, you must try the bread and butter... the bread is just a vessel, a good one, but it is all about the herbed butter. Save room for dessert or your will sell yourself short. Not really sweet, yet perfect end to a great meal. Only down side, we need to come back with more people, so we can try more of this incredible food... Even it is 2.5 hours from home, we are filling the car and heading back, soon. None of us can stop talking about this truly, farm to table, high quality reasonably priced experience. We were excited to hear everything is farm to table. My salmon was seared to perfection. My husband had ramen. They have two kitchens for the sushi restaurant. We've historically had great meals and service at Epiphany Farms. With our latest visit we had great food, however the service was lacking. It appeared our server had a large number of tables and at various parts of the restaurant (both in and outside) making it even difficult to catch his attention to engage with him. While this experience made our meal last longer than usual, we took advantage of enjoying conversation with extended family. Fortunately the food didn't disappoint. We had a variety of things amongst six of us and shared - e.g. pizzas, sushi rolls, Korean chicken wings, etc. The cornbread is a family favorite, and this time we tried the blistered peppers that were a bit addictive without too much heat. While we wouldn't say this was the best dining experience, we know this isn't what we've typically enjoyed and won't view this as a reason not to return. read more

A farm to table restaurant using their own vegetable farm and heritage livestock offer a wide range menu from pizza, sushi, Korean barbecue, and American Farm. We chose Beyond Jalapeno Cornbread on creamy farm greens and garlic and topped with whipped goat cheese, candied bacon bites, herbs, and house made hot honey. Our second starter was Cornflake Chicken, which was thin strips of Boneless Chicken thighs coated with crushed cornflakes stacked on Korean barbecue sauce with pickled carrots strips and sesame seeds. Our entrees were Asian Barbecue Pork shoulder, shredded, with Asian slaw, seasonal Farm vegetables, sesame seeds and 5 spice barbecue sauce, and I had the 8 oz. Fillet Mignon cut into 2 medallions with Demi Glacé, seasonal Farm vegetables, and Potato Gratin with Hollandaise. I also had an October Fest beer from Schaefer. They had a good selection of craft beers, wines and full bar. Reservations are needed, a bit pricey but worth it for the quality of food making it a destination restaurant. read more

Top Notch service and truly amazing food. Locally sourced from their farm, they have super fresh ingredients and it was well prepared. They even dropped by a sample of an appetizer for us! Epiphany Farms is on a completely different level. You can really feel that 'farm-to-table' soul because they actually grow everything on their own land. It has that same rustic, country heart where you know every ingredient was picked with purpose. The Epiphany Pork Two Ways was absolutely incredible, just perfectly prepared and so flavorful. But the Cornbread was the real surprise. It was the thickest, most delicious version I've ever had, served with that honey butter that just melts right in. Everything we ordered, from the fresh Harvest Salad to the Roasted Carrots, tasted so vibrant and alive. Looking at the photos, you can see how much care goes into the presentation. It's elegant but still feels like a hearty, home-cooked meal from the future. It's definitely the gem of Bloomington and a must-visit if you appreciate food with a real story behind it. I recently had dinner here for the first time and I was very impressed. We started with the pork dumplings and pork buns and they were both very good. Then for the entree I had the 4 oz filet medallions that came with seasonal vegetables and the potato gratin and it was all very good, especially the steak. The other people I was with had sushi and pizza and they enjoyed what they ate. Then we shared two desserts. After a sublime summertime food and beverages event out on the actual farm, I had high hopes for the restaurant in town. So high that we patronized five times before giving up. I do think that calling themselves "fine dining," and invoking farm-to-table sets up some expectations that might be out of their scope. Before I elaborate on the numerous problems, I will say that I did leave all five dining instances with that glowing sense of well being one derives only from ingesting whole foods that are prepared with health in mind over aesthetics. But undercooked vegetables are not appealing to eat, especially root vegetables. Salmon should be buttery, not overcooked. Ramen broth should be hot, rich, and full-bodied. Noodles should not be chewy and chalky. One can excuse a plastic bowl if the ramen is good. Granted, Ramen is a tricky dish to offer, and restaurants should consider if they are prepared to execute a reasonably primordial soup. Service should be prompt at their price point. Onions should be crunchy only if raw. Caramelization takes time, and "farm-to-table" implies time. Take more time, Epiphany. read more

On Sunday September 3rd after driving for hours on our way back to Chicago we decided to stop in Bloomington overnight. I did some Yelp research and we discovered Epiphany Farms. It was about two hours before closing, so we found easy street parking and went inside. We were seated outside, given water, then completely forgotten. There were tables of diners around us that were finishing up, and at least three different servers walked around us to help their tables. Not one acknowledged us and said they would be with us. We waited for twenty minutes. Everyone looked like a deer in headlights - it almost seemed like no one wanted to look our way because they didn't want to commit to having to take another guest. I have no idea. I understand that businesses are short staffed and that everyone is a bit overworked, but it takes two seconds to tell a guest that things are a bit crazy and that you we be with them as soon as possible. We were excited about the variety of dishes on the menu, and I was super excited to se Sippin Pretty on the menu - my most favorite sour beer. Unfortunately we never had a chance to order. We walked away from our table without anyone noticing or caring. Then we checked into a hotel and ended up at Texas Roadhouse, which would not have been by choice, but by this point we didn't have a lot of options. They were actually insane, so we sat at the bar, and the bartender gave us 1st rate service. read more

Tried this restaurant on our way to St.Louis. The food was awesome. We started off with Honey I'm home and bloody Mary. Drinks were fantastic. We then had hummus, veg fried dumplings, chicken wings and Pork belly bowl. The food was fresh snd delicious. I loved the hummus whereas my husband loved both the wings and the bowl. The service was great. The server was warm and super attentive. We sat outside which was cute. They have plenty of space both inside and outside. I'm a huge fan of farm to table restaurants and Epiphany takes this to a new level. I say this because of the many styles of food offered. Along with traditional offerings, there are Asian flavors and pizza! Anju Banchan was unlike anything we've ever ordered. I unique mini smorgasbord of tastes! Even the people at the next table wanted to know what it was! The El Diablo pizza was great. The "fresh from the farm" jalapeños really gave it a nice spicy kick! We enjoyed a couple of craft cocktails which were delicious and the wine by the glass selection was nice. I can't conclude this without saying how delightful our server and hostess were. We went with a large group (like 16 people) on a Tuesday night and it was very farmhouse chic. The drink and food menu was so diverse, it would be hard to get a good sampling without visiting more than once. I saw mussel and cornflake chicken apps, and I saw steak and scallop entrees... I had the Epiphany Pork Feature, because it's always nice to get a namesake dish. Pork was perfect. The rice had something savory going on in it, but I couldn't place it. My pic of the cornflake chicken is very sad because we were sharing apps. The pork feature is so photogenic, as was much of their offerings! We love this place. Fresh farm food and rotating menu. The veggie hummus has always been a hit! It's served with great radishes, broccoli, carrot, parsnip, peppers and lavash. Amazing food and service! We went there 5 years ago had great service but didn't love the food, last night we had pretzel app, cornflake chicken app and it was amazing! My husband enjoyed the pork chop dinner and I had the 4oz filet and was so delicious! Perfect amount of food! We tried the tofu donuts and the vegan chocolate cake!
