Working with Anna was amazing! She gave us a personalized experience and really helped guide us so that we got the cake of our dreams. We previously had a really bad experience with another big name vendor in town and then got a personal recommendation for Anna. The difference in service and quality was unbelievable. Here are the advantages to working with Anna: 1. The list of cake, filling and frosting flavors are limited. That ensures that everything Anna makes is top-notch quality, tastes homemade and is super fresh both for the tasting and the final product. The other vendor's product tasted and seemed mass produced and was not fresh. 2. Anna can help guide the most uninformed client (like us) as far as popular flavor combos, cake design and appropriate delivery time & method. Our entire event was held at one location and the cake was served in the same room we had the ceremony. Anna's crew snuck the cake in at the beginning of the reception which was a great surprise for everyone as most people did not even see her delivery person. 3. Anna offered her expertise during our tasting and unlike the other vendor she never made us feel like we were bothering her or that we were "dumb" just because we don't know cake jargon. The other baker was late to our appointment at HER SHOP, did not apologize and never actually made eye contact with us - they were obviously not interested in our business or money. Anna on the other hand made us feel like family members and really shared in our excitement. 4. The cake was INCREDIBLE looking & tasting! I am not sure where she got the flowers (our venue must have put some aside for her) but without ever having a post-tasting discussion the cake was exactly what we wanted, and even better. Anna Cakes was recommended to me by the bridal boutique where I purchased my gown. I called up and left a message, and was immediately contacted via email. Anna personally handled the emails, phone call, appointment, and consultation. My fiance and I showed up to our tasting with two out of our three children (my fiance thought nothing of it, but I was nervous as to whether it was appropriate). Anna greeted us and made the happy couple and our children feel extremely welcome. We have a seat and she comes out with a massive tray of a variety of cakes and icing, giving us a description of each, what pairs well with each other, and then left us so we could try it all and discuss in privacy, which is a HUGE deal to not feel the pressure when someone is right in front of you. The cake melted in our mouths!!! The icing was perfect! There were so many phenomenal combinations!!! After some time, Anna came back and we discussed our favorites. It was then time to design the cake. I was all over the place with ideas, and from my creative madness, Anna created a masterpiece. We even changed the sizes and amount of tiers a few times to get the most bang for our buck (Anna helped with all of this)! Long story short, the cake is INCREDIBLE, Anna is AMAZING, the cakes are extremely REASONABLY PRICED, and I never felt rushed throughout the entire process and my indecisiveness. I wish it was possible to give Anna Cakes not one star in order to write this review but unfortunately that is not the case. I found her shop by searching the internet and chose her because of her work, reviews and accolades. She was prompt in contacting me back, setting a date for a cake tasting and even taking my full payment for a cake I was ordering for my husband's surprise 30th bday a month ahead of time. She said she would be able to replicate my husband's favorite tennis shoe and I was confident in her ability because of her work on her website. My tasting went well and her cakes were amazing although I never personally meet her. On the day of the party my mother was to pick up the cake only to be called and told it wasn't ready and that they would deliver the cake to Tampa for my hubby's yacht party. I was in Tampa already and was contacted not by Anna Cakes about this (unprofessional) but my mom. I talked to Anna once on the phone early that morning about how uncomfortable and worried I was about the cake not being done and coming to Tampa with my mom, only to be reassured by her that all would be well. I never spoke to her again on the phone but emailed throughout the day stressed that the cake would not be delivered on-time before the boat sailed as she promised. I made it to the yacht with all our family and friends with my husband and he was surprised but of course the cake had not been delivered. We had to push back our sail time to go up the road to Publix to buy a cake for my husband which cost me extra money to extend the sail time and open bar. When we were about to leave her cake delivery person finally came which by then I was so irritate that I did not accept the cake but a yacht employee did. The cake sailed with us but no one touched it as it looked horrible. It was rushed, sloppy and looked more like a baby bootie than a mans Jordan tennis shoe. I took the cake off the boat and delivered it back to her shop and also called my credit card company to dispute the charge. MInd you on the actual party day once I got on the boat Anna stopped responding to my emails and never once called to apologize about her unprofessionalism, lack of commitment, and the sloppy cake she expected me to accept which was over 2 hours late to the boat. After receiving full payment of $818 for this disaster of a cake she actually tried to justify to the credit card company that she fulfilled her end of the deal but in the end I won...Thank God! Had she just called to rectify the situation the outcome would have been different and I would have had no problem understanding that she overcommitted on her orders and deliveries that day but the fact that she lacked the most important aspect of her business which was customer service spoke volumes about how she handles situations when a customer is not 100% satisfied. I just pray that no one has to endure the same experience I had with her because I swear it was a nightmare and I'm sure from this review one would already know that she could never get my business EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

It was outstanding . Everyone simply loved it. The cake was moist, delicious, and beautiful. The bride was hesitant to even cut it. Anna was easy to work with and extremely helpful. The cupcakes were great, but the cake was not decorated as requested. It was still beautiful but was supposed to have colorful sugar flowers on a white frosted cake. It was just white frosted with designs as requested, however the person who delivered it used the brides throw away bouquet to add color to the cake (not discussed prior). We had to scrounge around for a throw away bouquet. The case itself was great. Anna did not seem to have time to discuss anything after the initial consult when we hired her. read more

After a bumpy road with the owner of this company, six weeks from the wedding, she dropped us as clients (meaning she refused to make the cake) and although she said she would refund the depost, a month later it has not been refunded. Check out the Central Florida BBB has an "F" rating with only one complaint but the complaint is serious and the exact same story as mine. No refund on cancelation, even when cancellation is months in advance and then doesn't even provide the services paid for. I tried changing my date 7 months in advance and was told no refund. I want to let everyone know that I would never ever purchase anything from annas cakes ever again. She is not qualified. Let me tell you our experience with this company. Anna (the owner) was very nice when she took my money. She carefully drew out my wedding cake and took notes and explained that her sister bakes the cakes the day before the wedding and then Anna frosts the cakes the day of the wedding. None of this was true for my wedding. My wedding cake was stale and dry and we had to throw the entire cake away. We had requested butterflies on the cake and we paid extra for them. There were no butterflies. The colors were wrong and the cake couldn't even hold my cake topper. Like I said...beware as we will never use this company ever again. I paid for my cake in full 3-4 months before my wedding. I was excited about Anna because she does excellent work. Unfortunately her business skills and customer service leave much to be desired. She rushed through our original 30-minute consult 4 mos before because she had another client waiting. Nonetheless, my mother, coordinator, and I were happy with the samples we'd seen and felt we had reached a price that was reasonable. We had nothing in writing but she said she would email a paypal invoice. Since mine was a destination wedding and my groom was unable to attend, she assured me she would be happy to meet with my groom and I to finalize the design. I communicated with her a few times 90 to 60 days before to finalize payment, request design ideas, and to make arrangements for a cake stand but was totally unprepared for what I would experience after the second consult 2-weeks before the wedding. To make a long story short, she completely disregarded the original agreement and began to design a new more expensive cake unbeknownst to us (We had nothing writing)...and proceeded to charge us more! She simply kept telling us that the design changes the price...without explaining what the original agreement included and what we had actually paid for already. When we asked for a contract or a copy of the original agreement. She told us to just take a copy with a cellphone because she didn't have a copy machine and that's how she would get it to us via text msg! Unfortunately, we didn't because have a suitable phone. The nightmare continued up until the morning my destination wedding weekend began (you will soon see how hectic that time can be). She sent me a 1000+ word email 48 hrs before the wedding. The morning I was rushing around preparing for the rehearsal dinner, rehearsal, hotel, bachelorette party, and picking up friends and relatives from the airport, I also had to contend with last minute demands and refusals from a vendor I had settled with originally months before. Our goal had been to finalize the cake and addt'l cost two weeks before. We even made a trip to her home to drop of trimming (I didn't need) and finalize things 5 days before to no avail. I was completely flawed. I felt powerless. Although our FREE top layer was delicious, the cake that was served to our guests was awful and was wasted. Nothing like what we had at the tasting. She told me she had 5 other cakes to make that weekend, I wonder if it had been old or frozen...The cake design, although lovely, was nothing like what we asked for despite paying $150 extra. She created an artificial cake, per our request, with REAL fondant and icing...needless to say I will not have it forever as agreed. Since it was not set/dry on the day and no cake boxes were provided the layers shifted during transport, fondant was ruined, and the REAL icing melted. Essentially, I have nothing to show for the almost $700 I paid. My husband and I sent an email citing our disappointment and requesting a partial refund 2 days after returning from our honeymoon. She sent us a brief email and tried to blame the poor quality of her cake on the other vendors saying she would get back to us when she had time. When she replied after a month, she insulted the beauty of my wedding day and the integrity of my guests and leveled heavy insults against my culture, professionalism, faith, and my motives. Anna arrogance was unprecedented. She did not accept a shred of responsibility for the stress, heartache, confusion, and unnecessary expense she caused us. Again, Anna's cakes are beautiful but her customer service and business savvy are lacking. If you want a beautiful cake Anna can deliver but get everything finalized in your consult.
