I called for an appointment and asked if it was possible to have my brows tweezed. I was barked at, asking how I heard of Annahita. She then told me I could come in and she would let me know if she could tweeze my brows or not. As I was telling her I would call her back, SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I am appalled. This was my first time visiting Annahita. I called and inquired about a same day appointment and she was willing to take me in the next 10 minutes. I came in for a bikini wax (first time ever!!) and I was attracted to the salons prices and reviews. She was very nice and chatted with me throughout the service. She acted as though she was going WAY out of her way to schedule an appointment 'SO far ahead', but did it anyway... I went there today (2/18/12) and I hope that MINA weirdo reads this, she gave me an hour for waxing and eyebrow, you first have to tell her about your full biography and she just talks for the whole hour, in the middle of my eyebrow waxing one her costumers walks in without an appointment and Mina decides to finish my work in 20 minutes TOTAL (Full leg waxing and Eyebrow!!!!) . My leg is full of left over wax and with patches of hair all over, my eyebrow isnt even shaped and she charged me 80 dollars. NEVER EVER GO TO HER YOU WILL REGRET IT read more

I have been going to Minna for 3 three years for all my waxing needs. She is sweet, animated, interesting, and quick. Minna is quite liberal with her thoughts and opinions and leans to the left (so, if you are a bit more conservative, maybe she isn't for you) and she has a great sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoy our chats and think she is a wonderful person. Also, it helps that she is so quick and efficient; particularly when waxing more sensitive areas. Already lots of great waxing reviews, and I agree with all of them. Meena is sweet, skilled, quick, and inexpensive. And I love her flexibility--she can almost always get me in same day (often within the hour). ...But not much said so far about her facials. I get them from her often, and she does a fabulous job. Truth is, I have a lot of blackheads. Other places have made me feel bad about it, and have done minimal "extractions." Meena "loves" doing extractions and says "thank you for bringing this face to me, I love it!" She spends a lot of time with me, and I really look amazing when I leave. She also uses nice products, and gives a great neck and shoulder massage. If you want nothing but a foofy spa-y face massage, this may not be the place for you. If you want someone to get down to business and get it done, while also being pampering and relaxing, see Meena. I'll never go anywhere else, for waxing or facials. read more

I always call for same day appointments and am always accommodated, although its best to make an appointment. She does a great job on my brows. Mina is one of two people I will let touch my eyebrows. i got burned. worst wax ever!!! I saw that this place had mixed reviews, but more positive than negative. Due to its proximity to me, I decided to go and get a brazilian and a upper leg wax. Never again!! I signed up for yelp just so I could add one more bad review to her business. SHe talked about politics, Bush, Iran, nuclear war... had the news blasting while she was yanking out my hair. NOt exactly a way to make a client relax. I have been getting brazilian waxes for years, and am a tough girl. She really made me uncomfortable, and if the political war Bush talk wasn't enough, she burned me... yes, my labia were scorched. taking a shower later that evening was excruciating. I was hoping to have some fun and surprise my boyfriend, but so much for that idea. it took a couple days to heal up. I have been going to her for 19 years - now, the baby I was carrying when I first met her (working at another salon), is going to her as well. I've been to Meena twice for Brazilians if I needed it the same day, but tend to not go there regularly because I prefer hard wax. Today I went in to get arms done and asked her if she accepted card, but she only takes cash, so I offered to go withdraw money before the wax. She then got annoyed that I didn't come in with cash, and started asking me why I had stopped coming to her for Brazilians and where I was going instead. She seemed offended and told me she had only agreed to wax my arms because I was a previous client, and now that I wouldn't be coming in for Brazilians I was no longer a "real client" and should leave. I left without getting my arms waxed, and am never going back. She was very rude, and makes it seem like she's doing you a favor when you're the customer. She took things very personally and acted very unprofessionally. In terms of the wax itself, she only uses sticky wax which is definitely more painful in sensitive areas. Oftentimes, the whole area isn't covered, and I find this to be ridiculous for the price that she charges. You can easily find a cheaper, more professional wax in the area. read more

I got my underarms waxed at Annahita's. It was the fastest underarm wax I have ever gotten. Most people complain about the different directions of my hair growth, etc. and she just set right in and did each underarm with about 3 strokes only! And my underarms aren't raw and hurting. She's definately got her own personality and I have a personal waxing philosophy which I will share here: You have to try out waxing places. don't march in for the first time and get a brazilian. start with legs or lip or something simple so you can get a feel for the how the aesthitician works. I went to Annahita for a Brazilian wax because it was cheap and she'd gotten decent reviews. BIG mistake. I have had many Brazilian waxes and I have never had one as painful or that made me bleed everywhere. Meena scolded me for trimming my hair before my appointment (still 1/4" long), despite my having done so at other salons without a problem. If she thought it was too short, she should have refused to do the wax, not take it as license to give me the worst wax ever. She made me wait, despite my being on time for my appointment, so she could eat her soup, and she left during the appointment to greet some drop-in customers who were obviously friends of hers. She continued to talk to them over the wall of the waxing room for the last ten minutes of my service. I have been to About Face & Body for much better results and not much more money. I first came to Annahita because I needed an emergency wax before a trip to the beach. Meena was the person who would take me right away. I drove there immediately and was amazed by the prices and the results. She was the first waxer ever to do my eyebrows perfectly without any instruction... and waxed my legs in less than 25 minutes. I loved this place but after today i will never be coming bere again. I went in today and asked if i was able to get a same day appointment or make an appt for another day. She was nice enough to take me in that moment. She was very rushed though as she was leaving out of town. She rushed through my eyebrows and didn't even trim them properly. When she showed me in the mirror i realized she had ruined my eyebrows. One was thinner than the other and rounded. I told her that they were uneven and she had the nerve to tell me that they looked better uneven "more natural". I was like no i doubt very much anyone would agree with you. Then she got upset and said that if she knew i was picky she wouldn't have helped me and that i should thank her. The fact that i didnt want my eyebrows to be uneven and different sizes isn't being picky. I am very dissapointed if she didn't have time to take me in i could have waited until next week but she wanted to make a few extra bucks and did a lousy job. So i pretty much paid $18 dollars for shitty eyebrows. read more

I love going to Annahita's because it is right near my house. Meena is always very sweet and always asks me if I am Persian. She is quick and efficient with the wax and her prices are more reasonable then other waxing places in the area. Since she is a quick waxer I probably wouldn't recommend her if you are new to waxing. I've been getting waxed since I was 8 (I used to be a rather hairy Italian child) so I have no problem with her style at all. The first time I went to Annahita's was for my first Brazilian and it wasn't awkward at all. She chats with you while she is waxing you so it's actually a pretty enjoyable experience that is over before you know it. She only opens the door for customers with appointments so you will usually be the only person inside unless someone else has shown up early for their appointment. Someone mentioned on here awhile ago that she doesn't take checks, but this isn't true. I think it's just cash-only if you are a first time customer. read more
