We did this based on an excellent experience in our previous home in Annapolis, MD where they did a large basement renovation project for it. They helped us install a beverage refrigerator in a wet bar, put recessed lighting into multiple rooms, and installed ceiling fans. The work was extremely well done. We also had them do all the work while we were away and we came home to the work 100% finished and the project areas spotlessly clean. During the entire process our project manager communicated clearly via email and text messages about our project. Their communication and professionalism is unmatched. SLOPPY and INEPT…read more Run, do not walk AWAY from Bohan Contracting! For 2.5 years we have been dealing with this inept, insulting, incompetent company. According to several subcontractors, Bohan was a good company initially, but they became greedy and took on too many projects. According to subcontractors in the area we have consulted with, superior Annapolis contractors refuse to work for them, in a few cases calling out their "designer" Jaime Esposito in particular. Bohan parked a huge dumpster in our driveway, insisted that we be out of our house in early January 2022, though the work on our house didn't start for MONTHS. Bohan's trucks from other parts of town would arrive nightly to dump their garbage. Bohan's workers told us they weren't allowed to dispose of refuse in the other neighborhoods in which they were working. That speaks to the consistent mistreatment of us and another family on our street who hired Bohan, judging our neighborhood to be not worth prioritizing. They are still not finished with either project! They've left us twisting in the wind -- but have had no problem collecting money from us. We were told we would be out of our house for 5 - 6 months and it turned out to be almost 16 months! The cost was almost TWICE their quote. Bohan's workers barely spoke English, were sloppy, didn't measure anything and were completely unskilled. On one visit to the site, they had to find a child who spoke English to even be able to communicate with us. Every subcontractor Bohan hired appeared to be the bottom of the barrel. Every day we find mistakes and poor workmanship. It was, and continues to be, the most depressing and disappointing experience we've ever had. They refused to compensate us for any of the aggravation they put our family through. We ended up sleeping in the workshop of our carpenter son, who was unable to work for the entire 15+ months we were forced to stay there. The architect/engineer DAMES Design, who we had great hopes for, left out items such as the water heater, found egregious errors in Bohan's work (including going over her head to hire a different engineer) but then told us WE had to pay her an extra $2000+ for dealing with it! Avoid DAMES Design! Advice before renovating your house -- HAVE A LAWYER on hand to read the contract first and to be ready for litigation.

Tomas the construction lead and his crew did excellent work. He listened to our concerns and made any changes we requested. The cost was much cheaper than replacing our old deck with a completely new deck. They extended our deck 4' and replaced wood decking and railing with Timber Tech French White Oak. They also replaced the wood rails with stainless steel cable. It looks great! We wanted it done by our daughter's baby shower and they completed it on time. They did a great job from start to finish. We would highly recommend them.

I hired PBS to paint some rooms in my new home which was empty at the time. I sent a video detailing every wall to be painted and the colors to be painted. Long story short, they did well in some areas, really bad in others. My main level, I had an accent wall painted. It was so sloppily done that I had to laugh. And they got some of that color paint (dark blue) on an adjacent (light gray) wall. I wanted the basement to be a lighter color than it originally was but since they didn't prime with a light color paint, it came out dark. I've since had it repainted. They got paint all on my floors. there was a bright orange wall that was painted to match the rest of my family room: after 3 years, that orange paint is visible in some spots. It was always visible at the bases because of incomplete coverage after they painted. When I called the Khairy to make him aware of the issues, he did come out and mentioned that it wasn't done on purpose... Ok. They came back to fix the issues. The paint on the floor was cleaned up, the accent wall still looked messy. I had work done in my home later and that wall was the first thing my contractor commented on. Overall, very nice people. Hopefully they've improved, but I've decided to do a huge paint job in my home and I'm not considering them.

My paint job included painting my dark wood railings black matte. Unfortunately white primer(no tint) and a thin coat of paint was used on the railings so they immediately started chipping with the white showing thru. I contacted Khary on January 8th and he agreed to fix the issue and provided two dates for the repair. I responded that I was available for both. I have not heard from him again despite following up multiple times. Now I am left with trying to recoup money to have the railings painted properly. In addition, there were other issues with unpainted trim and clotting paint that was not initially noticed. I intended to bring these items to Khary's attention when he came for the railing repair but he never responded. I'm sure these issues were due to the job being understaffed with one person till the last day when four people show up to rush completion of the job. I do not recommend Paint Boy.

Also indicates we needed the work done badly lol. "Don't Judge me." If they could save my deck they could save yours. It was a job well done. The contractors covered up everything on our lower deck and they made sure they cleaned up behind themselves. Kirk was nothing but polite and he responded very well to all of our messages. They have reasonable prices. I definitely recommend them for future work if needed.

Can't express enough my disappointment with the company we contracted to tile our shower and…read morebathroom floor. Nothing particularly hard. Cost was decent and projected time was 4-6 business days. 2 guys showed up on Monday 3 May. We had one change in design on the inset of the shower wall... we added a pencil line. By Thursday morning, we were requesting a company supervisor to come to the house and discuss the problems. We did not let the contractors in until someone showed up. The rep left telling us he would get back to us with a solution, one possible option was to sub the work out since they had one tile setter. Instead of a phone call, we got an email at COB saying the company was voiding our contract and the deposit we paid was to be used for the work that was completed in 3 days. After 3 days of work the contractors were barely 50% complete. My husband, who is a construction manager, had to work with these two gentlemen continuously for three days and correct things as they went along. I won't bore you with the details of the emails that went back and forth, but we did agree that they could continue work if there was a quality control put in place and that we had to redo the timeline. The company came back and said that they were requesting full payment before continuing. If the work stoppage had been due to a schedule slip at our request or another request from us, I can understand wanting full payment. But because it was a quality issue and requesting us to pay in full prior to completion of the work is completely unreasonable. And goes against standard business practice. I'm attaching photos of the work done. And also a video of my husband as he's taking out the spacers that were left on the floor tile. As you can see the tiles are popping up. The amount of tiles that have thinset on them is probably half in addition to what you see in the video. Clearly there was a problem and instead of the contractor figuring out what the problem was, he just kept trying new tiles. The problem with the inset on the shower wall, I think is quite obvious. Instead of doing a full row on the top, he cut the tiles short. It is not balanced at all with the bottom. There is obviously plenty of room on the top to have done another row and then the pencil. The problem with the large tiles on the wall means a really thick grout line at the ceiling because he put them up knowing they were too short. Even after all of this, we were willing to work with them. Glad it worked out otherwise. Dan is going to finish the shower and we'll find a competent company to do the floor. smdh
