This hotel is starting to very much show its age. While the location is terrific, that doesn't change that the beds are old, floors are creaky and it's certainly not worth the sticker price anymore. This may have been Annapolis' flagship hotel in the past but those days are gone read more

My husband and I stayed at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel for two nights, September 18-20, for a family wedding. We booked the room months in advance and were looking forward to the stay. Unfortunately, this was one of our more disappointing Marriott experiences. We arrived Friday afternoon and immediately noticed several problems with the room. Part of the ceiling drywall paper was hanging down, the material around the light fixture was coming off, and there was hair and residue in several places on the bathroom wall looked as if the person cleaning used the rag from cleaning the shower then the floor. It wasn't the condition we expected from a hotel at this price point. Saturday morning, the toilet wouldn't flush. We reported it to the front desk, someone came up with a plunger, and we were told it was working. Unfortunately, the same problem happened 3 more times during our stay. Then Sunday morning, while we were getting ready to leave, the bathroom sink started filling with water instead of draining properly the floor in the room sounded hollow when you walked on it. We also had an issue with the breakfast benefit. We are Marriott Titanium Elite members, and at check-in we were told we could choose the breakfast benefit or points. I specifically asked whether we needed a voucher and was told no, that the breakfast would be taken off when we checked out. At other Marriott properties, the breakfast benefit has always been clearly explained, whether it's a specific dollar amount or a voucher. When we received our final bill, we found that it was a set amount each morning had been credited, leaving additional breakfast charges. Had we been told there was a limit, we would have understood and ordering differently. I also have concerns about the room rate. When I booked through the Marriott app, the total displayed for the two nights w/tax and fees was just over $1,400. The final room charges were considerably higher, and I am currently trying to understand why. Unfortunately, once the stay was completed, I could no longer go back into the app to see the original rate I had booked. I had also attached two room-upgrade awards to the reservation, but was notified before arrival that the upgrades could not be honored. I understand upgrades are subject to availability, so that by itself wasn't a issue we loose them often. However, combined with everything else that happened, it added to the disappointment. At checkout, I explained everything to the front desk. The employee helping me was very nice and actually said she couldn't believe how many problems we had experienced with the room. She spoke with her manager and initially offered 25,000 Marriott points. I explained that wouldn't even provide a free night at this hotel, so she increased it to 35,000 points. I accepted, assuming that she knew what a night at this property required. Once I got home and checked the Marriott app, I found that a weekend night at this hotel was costing more than 75,000 points. I want to be clear that the hotel is very nice other employees have been great beds were comfortable and the front-desk employee who helped us at checkout was very pleasant and I thought she was doing what she could to give us a free night and find out its not even close. My frustration is with the overall stay and the way the problems and charges were handled. We have stayed at many Marriott properties and generally have very good experiences. Unfortunately, this stay was quite different. Between the condition of the room, repeated plumbing problems, the confusion over breakfast, and the unexpected difference in the final room charges, this was simply not the experience we expected from the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel. I hope management takes these issues seriously and uses them as an opportunity to improve the experience for future guests. read more

Let me start by saying this: if you're looking for a waterfront hotel in Annapolis with a great location, this is probably your best option. The views are beautiful, and being able to walk into town is definitely a plus. That said, if you're looking for value for your money, I would look elsewhere. We paid $1,866 for two nights and expected a true 4- or 5-star experience. Unfortunately, that's not what we found. The hotel is very dated and in need of significant renovations. Aside from the waterfront location, it felt more like a 3-star property than a luxury hotel. To make matters worse, the restaurants were under construction during our stay, which further limited the amenities. The bright spot was the staff--they were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. We appreciated that they accommodated our request to check out early, allowing us to move to another hotel that better matched our expectations. If your top priority is the waterfront location and easy access to downtown Annapolis, this hotel may work for you. Upon arriving at the Marriott Annapolis Waterfront, we were disappointed to find that valet parking was unavailable. While we appreciated being able to check in approximately 45 minutes early at 3:15 PM, the 10-minute walk from the parking lot after traveling was not ideal. Once inside, we were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff, who have truly been a bright spot during our experience thus far. They were friendly and professional, and we greatly appreciated their kindness. Unfortunately, after requesting additional towels both through the front desk messaging system and the Marriott app, we still had not received them as of 5:56 PM. In addition, while the bed is comfortable, there were visible pieces of dirt on the rug and what appeared to be paper towel or tissue residue in the shower area upon arrival. At this point, we are quite tired and hesitant to continue requesting assistance, as the staff already seem overwhelmed. We are hopeful tomorrow will provide a better experience and that these concerns can be addressed. read more

For a property that charges nearly $600 per night before taxes and fees, I expected a significantly higher level of service and communication than what I experienced at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel. Our reservation was scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM on May 30. Before we even reached the front desk, we were informed that valet parking was unavailable due to construction and a wedding taking place at the hotel. Guests were instead directed to a parking garage approximately two-tenths of a mile away for an additional fee. While I understand that unforeseen circumstances arise, this should have been communicated in advance. Had we known that parking at the hotel would not be available, we may have chosen a different property. The larger issue occurred at check-in. We arrived at approximately 5:00 PM--already an hour after the hotel's stated check-in time--only to be told that our room was still not ready because members of a wedding party had checked out late. I find this unacceptable. A guest's reservation begins at the advertised check-in time, and the hotel should be prepared to honor that commitment. When I asked when our room would be available, I was told housekeeping might have an update in 20-30 minutes. In other words, there was no actual estimate and no guarantee of when we would receive access to a room we had already paid for. When I expressed concern that we were paying premium rates for both lodging and parking while simultaneously being denied access to the room, the front desk employee responded by explaining that Annapolis is a walkable downtown area and that the parking garage was nearby. That entirely missed the point. My concern was not the walk. My concern was paying luxury hotel prices while receiving neither the advertised parking accommodations nor timely access to the room. When my partner asked whether we would be compensated for the lost time, we were told we would receive points. We did not book this stay with points--we paid with money. Offering loyalty points as the primary solution felt disconnected from the inconvenience being imposed on paying guests. What was most disappointing is that none of this should have been a surprise to hotel management. Staff knew throughout the day that late checkouts were affecting room availability. A simple phone call, text message, or email advising arriving guests of the delay would have allowed us to adjust our plans accordingly. Instead, we drove to the property expecting a room to be ready and learned only upon arrival that it was not. To their credit, the hotel agreed to waive the cancellation fee and process a refund after I requested one. I am currently monitoring my account to ensure that occurs. Ultimately, this was not a problem caused by a wedding party. It was a failure of communication, planning, and customer service. At a budget hotel, this would have been frustrating. At a property charging us $729.84 for a one-night stay BEFORE valet parking, it is simply unacceptable. read more

The maintenance is lacking, not the cleanliness you expect and overall tired feeling. portable a/c unit which was loud & required maintenance twice, stains on carpet, loose hand rails & and awful mattress. the location again is amazing & perhaps makes the shortcomings easier to cope with but come on Marriott, do bette. read more

Like Kate M, the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel was IMO overall FABULOUS! What's not to love except perhaps the price. However, you know the price upfront. We stayed 1 night, all we wanted to afford, on a Tuesday night and the price was just shy of $600. We went for my milestone BD on a July Tuesday. We had a water view with balcony and 2 beds. The view from the balcony made it so very special. Being serenaded by a Navy Band on the pier late afternoon was priceless. Then there was some other pier function we could listen to from our balcony-sensory overload y'all. Being from Charles County MD, about 1.5 hour drive away, and to be able to enjoy this place is so perfect. We were in room #420. OBTW: Unbeknown to us breakfast was included for 2 guests only in the restaurant downstairs. That includes anything under the "Classic Breakfast" portion of the menu and the Eggs Benedict, juice and coffee. The view from the restaurant is awesome at least at breakfast when the restaurant is relatively quiet. I'm going to do it again. I may bring my caviar, Champaign and fix-ins with us next time. The only thing this Hotel has going for it is location. Who ever owns and runs this Hotel should be ashamed. Marriott should be ashamed. Dirty rooms, mold on my bathroom ceiling, mold along shower edges. Noise constantly coming from who knows where. No where to go down and sit with a cup of coffee. If you weren't ordering breakfast you can sit at a table along the water and have a cup of coffee. If you went to the bar for a drink at the end of the evening, 100 young kids are drinking at their restaurant bar. It was not a pleasant stay, and I would never recommend anyone stay there. Room was ok. Been trying to relax in my room and have a constant SLAMMING behind my bed from stalls in both restrooms. When I spoke to the front desk, they knew exactly why there was slamming behind my head so I asked, "you knowingly rent this room to people knowing about this constant slamming?" I ordered room service my first night since I arrived in the evening (burger and fries), and it was served without any ketchup, mustard, or mayo; not even on the burger. The employee didn't even bring the tray into my room. Housekeeping never even cleared the food tray from my room, nor did they empty my garbage, and the bed was barely made (my child does a better job). L Once again, the mobile key didn't work, so I could not self check in. As a Bonvoy member I was offered no upgrade and was instead put in a noisy room with a view of a fence and a sliding glass door on the FIRST FLOOR that didn't even lock. Marriott Gold Elite member. Dreadful experience at the hotel in the last 24 hours. We arrived last night after a long drive from New York and were told there was no adjoining room. Our son is at the USNA and the time we have with him is limited. Adjoining rooms are part of us staying at the hotel as a family. The hotel manager had assured we had adjoining rooms. And when I called the hotel to confirm last week they confirmed again. There was no hot water in the hotel!! A luxury hotel that we're paying a premium for. The temperature in the room was like a furnace. We had to have the air conditioning on and the window open all night. Outside our window there is mechanical equipment that sounded like a small plane taking off all night - we got no sleep. When I went down to reception in the morning to inform them of the issues - the front desk staff member Max P threw a volley of cheap insults at me - and claimed that the issues with the hotel were my fault! We have enjoyed stays at this hotel in the past but service levels have collapsed. No surprise that we checked out of the hotel that morning and checked into the Graduate Hotel which is absolutely wonderful. The one positive of our bad experience is that we found The Graduate and we are going to be loyal customers of theirs for the next 4 years and beyond. read more

Due to our work schedules we only had 9/29 and 9/30 off so Hubby decided to whisk me away to Annapolis for my Birthday. He booked this hotel for a 1 night stay. We arrived about 4pm (late check in) after our lunch feast on crabs over at Cantler's, and it was an easy check-in. Front desk staff was so polite and helpful with our luggage, I know we looked a little sunburned and food coma'ish, which is why she offered us a both a nice bottle of ice water. This was weekend before the big yacht show and it was busy-busy everywhere. We got up to the room, top floor and hubby had flowers in the room and huge basket of all my favorite sweet snack munchables, waiting for me. The man knows my sweet tooth lol, it was a beautiful room with a view of the waterway, I loved it. There was also nice little fridge and a big TV, a large comfy chair which I immediately sat down on and plopped my feet up on the ottoman, aah so relaxing. Eventually, I checked out the bathroom which had a large shower, and instead off little bottles of shampoo and stuff on the sink counter, there was a large wall dispenser of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I was so happy to see it was C.O. Bigelow's Lavender and Peppermint, I use this brand at home and absolutely love it!! in the closet there were complimentary robes and slippers and a full length mirror. Eventually I couldn't keep my eyes open and I literally passed out on the bed, it had the most comfortable mattress and pillows. I woke up after my power nap- refreshed and got ready for dinner. Because we had late check in and check out (4pm), the next day, we didn't have to rush to leave, we relished the opportunity to sleep in and enjoy a lazy lovely breakfast and the view the the boats being brought in for the show. Every staff member I spoke to at the hotel was professional and friendly wonderful customer service, I told my Hubby, that he should feel free to whisk me away to Annapolis any time, because it was such a great getaway, we just need to do it again and stay here. read more

This hotel definitely has the appealing down pat, and the area has an interesting history to learn about, so the hotel and rooms are teaming with those historical artifacts, pictures, and stories. The rooms are attractive and clean, and you cannot beat the 'waterfront' view. We were on the first floor, so I worried we wouldn't see the water, but we had a nice view! There is also a nice bar-restaurant, Prussers Caribbean Grille. Many other food and drink options are also within walking distance to the hotel. Comforts and necessities, and somewhat the security were lacking, in various ways: *Bed was okay, but pillows were a bit too firm to match the softness of the bed, so it was hard to get comfortable. *The patio door did not lock, and it opens to a shared deck, boardwalk to go out and sit, or view that part of the waterway. Meaning, anyone could have opened our door from the outside. To be clear, I did not feel unsafe, but it is still a bit concerning. *There was no access to necessities, snacks or drinks, other than the coffee and water in the room, unless the gift shop was open. Usually, some things can be purchased at the front desk, at the very least, but they did not have anything for purchase and there were no vending machines for snacks or drinks. read more

Here's what you get for $1000/night. We booked late for the 2021 US sailing boat show, so the rates were through the roof. But the location at the epicenter of the US sailing show was perfect and, of course, the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel is part of the Marriot family, of which we've been members for years. It was what we wanted. I'm writing this review during my stay - can't get back to sleep after the fire alarm went off at 4:21 AM (see photo). Someone who looked like a head-of-security type told us there was a fault in the fire alarm system. Anywhoo, here's what we're getting for, yes, $1000 USD per nite: * A decent room - clean, good view, comfortable beds - I'd pay, say $195 a night and feel good about it under normal, non-price gauging times. * Plenty of opportunities to serve yourself. For example, we called the valet to request that someone bring our luggage to the room since we had arrived early and left our luggage with the valet while waiting for the room to be cleaned. We called from our room to request the luggage and were informed we'd need to come down to pick it up ourselves. Ah, ok. * Wanted to order room service last night. No room service menu in our room. Hmm, so we called room service to inquire about a menu and were told to come on down to the restaurant to pick one up. we asked if someone could bring one to our room. Nope. We were in a pj's already and didn't feel like getting dressed, so we used grub hub. Two hours later, we got stone-cold food. All good. We were hungry. * In general, the staff tends to be a bit abrupt and unwilling to serve. This might be a cultural thing in the area? We're from San Diego. There could be a legitimate difference in attitude there. The staff did the minimum necessary to skate by without having to go out of their way and weren't what I'd call pleasant or even all that helpful. But there have been exceptions. * During the 4:21 AM fire alarm glitch, no hotel staff that I could see were offering any guidance as to what to do. Was there a real fire? When could be go back inside? What the hell happened and who's in charge around here anyway? Where was the hotel manager on duty! At this hotel, you get the trappings of a 3-star hotel (perfect marina-centric locale), the service of a Motel 6, and rates of a Ritz Carlton on Times Square. If it's the only room in town and it happens to be the best imaginable location (and you can afford to pay highway robbery rates) then why on earth wouldn't you stay here? No brainer. In fairness, the boat show is incredibly busy and the hotel is fully booked, with hoards of people, including thousands of regular boat show attendees. Still, when you stay in a hotel with premium rates, you tend to expect premium service. When I stay in a Motel 6, I'll gladly do everything myself. When I stay at the Waterfront Hotel, I guess I'll do the same and feel like I'd rather be in a cheap dive? At least it would make sense. It's all good. We made some new friends who were also bewildered at the lack of service and , disorganization. We grumbled together. It was the highlight of our stay:) And, lest you think I'm a diva or something, I don't mind serving myself - at all. I'm sure the hotel is beautiful. The location is fantastic. I grew up in Annapolis and now live in the Midwest and was coming back to Annapolis for a funeral. I had booked five rooms and seven people for a four-day weekend. And I canceled the reservation Three days before. Because, I didn't realize they didn't have a hotel in the restaurant although that's not the biggest issue :the girl at the front desk was so rude to me. And I read these reviews all the time and I always think the person must be rude. But I wasn't. I was trying to talk to her. There are two grandmas in our party and they cannot walk very well. I was trying to ask her. How far is it from the hotel to Choptank where they're doing breakfast at seven in the morning. I was asking her... How far is it from Annapolis waterfront to the market house and she was very impatient with me and didn't understand that 80-year-old women ,not all of them can walk well and I kept trying to tell her this // as she kept telling me over and over it's a very small city. It's very walkable. and then she told me that Maybe the older women would have trouble but everybody else would be fine. Well, nobody leaves grandma behind the hotel when they go to a restaurant. (when she said to me "listen ma'am " that was it for me ,I knew I would not be staying there.. I finally got a hold of the next person up the ladder. And she was very short with me. I was about to spend $7300 on that hotel. But no longer! I went to the Westin at Annapolis and they are very nice. It's a brand new hotel it has a pool and a restaurant in the hotel. read more

The location is beautiful. Super close to everything so you can walk and not have to drive every where. Cleaning staff did an amazing job. People were friendly. On another note, they had our car under the wrong name so anytime we texted they would say we didn't and the car was never available. First world problems I know but when you're traveling with a 19 month old you have a ticking time bomb and every second counts. We didn't figure this out until the day we left when they told us yet again we didnt text and then confirmed the name after we showed them the text for the 20th time. Secondly we were supposed to have a suite....well that didn't happen. Again, first world issues but when the baby has to be in bed by 8 that means everyone does bc it needs to be dark, no tv and no noise. Would've been great to have the room with doors to separate so we could've let her sleep while we enjoyed time with our older son for a little longer instead of making him go to bed as well. But I guess we were well rested. Third I don't understand why more expensive hotels limit heat and air. You go to a cheap hotel and you can make your room 50 degrees if you want to. We just wanted it below 76 and it wasn't happening. The windows do open a tiny bit but we mostly slept on top of the covers with the windows open and were still sweating. read more

Stayed for a work meeting. Everyone was very nice and focused on customer service the entire 2 days I spent here. The bellhops and valets were kind and helpful and everyone in service at our meals were excellent. The room was clean and cute! All was sublime until I met Teresa at the front desk on my last day, trying to check out and get a ride to the airport. At 5:45am she was too busy on the computer, and talking to security guy to get me a taxi. Maybe having a bad day already or maybe she shouldn't work such an early shift, because boy was she RUDE, couldn't care less, and told me that calling a taxi would take just as long or LONGER as an Uber (told her 25mins for the uber at the time.) I couldn't believe it. Like I was some intruder and not a working professional whose company just dropped a bunch of $$ for all of us to stay and meet here. I made a few calls to others in our group to let them know that the front desk was too busy to call taxis so be sure to request Ubers early. I did this in front of Teresa so she could hear me. Still could care less! After 10mins of waiting for uber to find me a ride, I tried Teresa again "hi are you still too busy to call me a taxi?" This time she said "well i can but it will take just as long. Do you want me to call?" Omg lady yes what do I have to do beg? I said that would be great and I am checking out of room #... oh you would think I was asking for a free upgrade! She proceeded to again talk to me like I was a bother and that something wasn't "booted up" so she couldn't check me out. Whatever. I have no idea what she said about some system not ready but I have a feeling I may need to dispute some charges with Marriott idk since I did not receive a folio to review. Here's the thing- the taxi came in 5mins and the lovely driver could not have been more pleasant and could not believe what happened to me! He shared that they are always 5-10mins out because they have a contract with this and other hotels. He said that this hotel gets a cut of the charges for taxi rides and that "she must've not liked you!" I said yeah maybe that I'm Asian and he said "oh wow yeah sounds like it i am so sorry." What a nice guy thank goodness! He said he would follow up with his bosses and asked for her name so I hope she gets the feedback so that others like me don't get treated so badly at a Marriott where I am a member. Would've been a 5 star review but i couldn't get past Teresa's attitude as I ran to my flight. read more

As others have said, the location of this hotel is its only redeeming feature... The rooms are just so so--quite tired really. It's definitely the worst Marriott-branded hotel I've ever experienced. One of the unique "amenities" this hotel offers is mandatory "valet" parking. Don't bother complaining if something goes missing in your vehicle--"they are not responsible." Well I certainly agree with that statement--they are not very responsible. I reiterate what others have said: Marriott should be ashamed. I will never stay at this property again. I'll go anywhere else, and Uber into downtown. Bon débarras! read more

Nice hotel. Rooms were large. The water view with the balcony is the way to go. I could sit out there and watch boats for hours. The horns of the boat and church bells were so peaceful. Walking distance to main street. Water taxi comes right there. What really sucked was the water for the shower took forever to get warm not hot just warm. I did call the Front desk they were going to send someone but it was late so I just dealt with a Luke warm shower. read more

If you like "Glitzy" facade style hotel, you will like this once wonderful old-world classy hotel at the Waterfront. And if you are into the whole Gray themed thing, this will be just the place for you. Yuck. No thanks. Make sure you don't bring too much clothing on your stay here... there were ZERO drawers in the room. And six of those clumsy hangers with the little clips. Oh, and bring a bar of soap because you only get one small half dollar size vanity soap that you have to bring from the sink to the shower. Empty shampoo dispenser in the shower. Oh, for $700 a night on a Saturday, don't expect anyone to make your bed. Get ready to scroll through all the TV Channels to see what is playing because there is no information on the"Guide" ... its all blank and just rolls and rolls continuously. Our room on the sixth floor had a decent view but felt like we were crammed into a closet. Hats off to the valet, they had their act together. Other than that the staff was just bored and non-engaging. At least Motel 6 has some interesting characters behind the shatter-proof glass windows. Was it worth $2K for a three day stay? I think not. Marriott, just ain't what it use to be. At least not at this place. read more

I've stayed in Marriott properties for over 30 years and the Waterfront Hotel in Annapolis is extremely disappointing. The beds are low quality, there was water damage on the first floor hallway, multiple ice machines were not functional, and even though this hotel has been renovated, it needs to be renovated again because this is not up to the standards of a high-level /Marriott property. While I was trying to find ice on multiple floors, I asked one of the staff members if there was a functioning ice machine, and in between chomping his gum and visibly showing it through his mouth, he told me that he had no idea. The correct response should have been, I apologize on behalf of the hotel and let me find out how we can get you some ice. This hotel has been going downhill for many years and with the removal of Pusser's gift shop, restaurant and bar, the property has no on site food and beverage. The Chop Tank, which is a very nice restaurant/bar, serves as the hotel restaurant, bar, room, service, etc., until the facilities are ready. If you are planning to stay here, I would steer clear and go up the street to the Westin, Residence Inn or Fairfield. Although they certainly do not have the Water location, they are far superior to this Tired and poorly managed property. The CEO of Bonvoy should be ashamed of this hotel's service, amenities, overall property, andespecially for the rates they charge during high season events. Here's what you get for $1041/night. We booked late for the 2022 US sailing boat show, so the rates were through the roof. But the location at the epicenter of the US sailing show was perfect and, of course, the Annapolis. The Annapolis Waterfront Hotel is part of the Marriot family. As a Gold Elite Marriott member, we have stayed hundreds of nights at all size and price range across the country and around the world. I expected better service than what was offered during our last night at the property. *Heading to dinner, requested my vehicle and to my surprise received a message 10 minutes later stating "unfortunately, no valets are available to retrieve your vehicle at this time". This was after I was already in the lobby waiting for the entire time. Proceeded to order dinner to be delivered. Sat in the lobby and observed the desk attended "Rene" handing out bottles of Rose to others who complained about the 3 weddings going on. Little after that, this same individual (Rene) was criticizing Baltimore's Waterfront Hotel to another guest that accidentally went to that location. "Oh and breakfast for two on us" Also, escorted him to his room, while delivering food to a guest room (second order that was dropped off) All of this while I was still sitting. Once, Rene returned to the lobby I asked who was the hotel manager? He is here Monday-Friday. At no time asked if there was anything that he who assist me with. Food arrived when I was in my room. Tried calling for room services, no response. Went back to the front desk to pick up my food. Rene had added our dinner into a closet and all was spilled. Needed plates and silverware, was instructed to walk to the restaurant (full of people). By then the food was stone-cold. All good. We were hungry. Kind of didn't understand Rene's double standard, since he offered to pickup dry cleaning from another guest rooms. *Requested our vehicle prior to checkout. Arrived on time, (thank you for that). We stayed at the Westin Annapolis over Christmas...lovely hotel with fabulous upgrade to a suite...we loved this town so much...we had to come back and tried the Autograph...boy-oh-boy...what a treat! Lovely rooms...water view...Malin Goetz toiletries...and cozy robes and slippers. The have a complimentary Escalade (first come first serve) that will take you any place (or pick you up from) within a mile or two from the hotel which was wonderful when it rains! We tipped them a few dollars every time we used it and they always seemed surprised and very appreciative...so gauging people don't do that...if you use the service then TIP the guy who drives you...only the ride is complimentary! Excellent customer service...special shout-out to Rene for making checkin and our stay so great! The reason for the 4* is due to the breakfast @ the hotel...not good. I suggest you grab a cup of their lovely coffee from the lobby on your way out the door to The Iron Rooster for breakfast. read more

DANGEROUS SNITCH HOTEL for women or those who expect privacy, safety and security when paying hundreds of dollars for a room. If you need space from a spouse, and are going trough a separation, divorcee or some type of breakup that leads you to a hotel, then you "act out" during your stay......THIS PLACES CALLS YOUR MAN ! They actually snitch on you at the What-a-front Hotel. Last fall after I made an extremely painful decision to divorcee my spouse I decided I did not want to live with him as I told him of my decision..... way too painful ! One of the places I sought to get "my space" from him during this VERY Emotionally difficult time was this Autograph hotel which is definitely related to Marriott. The restaurant Pussers is a separate business from the hotel. I had a previous non violent, non financial conflict with the restaurant/banquet department that prevented me from getting any service there as I was coldly informed by a restaurant/banquet employee named Cheryl that I was banned by a woman named Hilary who works for Pussers Caribbean Grill - the on sight restaurant. I do not believe (or recall, again very stressful time) if I was informed at that point why I was banned though I do know I promptly left the Restaurant/banquet area once told that. I had no reason to believe these two women ( Cheryl a reasonably friendly server there and Hilary ) actually ran the hotel part....and though I was NOT leaving an abusive husband, I did pay HUNDREDS of dollars to safely stay in that hotel for the night versus go to my OWN HOME less than 10 minutes away! Money for service, protection and refuge at a hotel ....a common business practice but this hotel seems to be run by some fools, or else Hilary is over reaching her position which speaks to poor ownership / management of both the Waterfront " Autograph hotel " and Pussers Caribbean Grill a locally owned restaurant. Believe me word is getting out about the SNITCH HOTEL and nasty Hilary. Now...I am a serious coffee addict and upon waking and going downstairs for coffee I became very agitated because I realized I couldn't go to Pussers to get a cup of coffee, and then I saw Hilary , the woman who banned me and I lost it. I definitely acted out and I can completely understand why the front desk called the police on me. However to call my HUSBAND AND SNITCH is a breach of business practice, likely the law, plus hotel ethics and individual morals. They made my husband take my belongings home and it was still about 7 AM or so. Check out was not for hours. DANGEROUS HOTEL FOR WOMEN......treated like poor white trash , or a teenager not a local of business owner and 30 year resident of Annapolis ....and that day a vulnerable 60 year old local woman, with disabilities ( 60 , advancing arthritis and.... menopause has been rough ) going through a very difficult time who needs space away from her husband and a decent cup of coffee in the morning. The fall out from them SNITCHING to my husband ( who showed up while I was talking to police...what fun ) was devastating, humiliating and very very harmful to both my husband and myself in many, many ways. They are reaping what they sowed from my review....I am telling these events as truthfully as I know. Some really great people work there, but some of the ownership and management like Hilary ( I say WOMEN POWER....WOMEN PETTY ) are so sad....females throwing other females under the bus and backing over. Believe all women.....are you kidding me! Stayed here for 1 nite. The room rate was $455/night. I was not impressed with my room having oversized furniture in a tiny room. Thay said, it is an Marriott Autograph property. Very charming and becuase it is located near the docs and Naval Academy, of course it is nautical themed. The rooms are in great condition. Standard Marriott amenities. Nothing special at this location for gold or platinum elite memebers. But what makes this hotel plus is the Pussers Bar and Grill. Great food, alcohol, and service. This hotel is worth the stay if the rate is lower. Military/Government discounts are accepeted at this location. read more

Nice hotel. I cannot speak to the pricing like other reviewers. I was in the hotel for a work trip. The hotel itself was not bad. The front desk person was a delight. She was attentive, helpful, and humorous. The offer of bottled water was a nice touch. The rooms were well appointed. No major concerns or complaints. The full length mirror is in the closet. The conference room and hallway was freezing. Bring a sweater! A gentle reminder to the attendees of other conferences about how noise in the hallway can be disturbing to other confhallway attendees would be helpful- but no biggie. The food served at the conference was great. Wonderful vegetarian selections were served. The wait staff were pleasant and attentive. Nice job folks! I would stay again. I'm sorry others had some negative experiences. I don't get to travel much and I appreciated everyone and everything. My stay here was fine. Don't forget to download the Marriott app! If anything, it's worse than my last stay here... but my church group arranged it so I decided to give it another chance. $475 per night for a tiny room, icy mean-spirited and arrogant staff who seem offended that you walk into their hotel and literally the WORST COFFEE IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE....cmon Marriott really? We went for a stay with friends for our anniversary. We had been there in March a year ago, but there were substantial differences. In March, the Maryland delegates were in town and when we asked for a shuttle ride, it was in a comfortable SUV. This January the four of us had to fit into a cramped four or five seat small car shuttle, which we were told, would be replaced when the delegates arrived. The rates were substantially higher then, Our friends room was not cleaned after their first night('they were not on the list'), and only grudgingly after their second night. Our room did not have a light on the nightstand between queen beds(we had to ask for one), and our friends room desk light had a burned out bulb. When we checked in on Friday, the front desk clerk looked like she did not want to be bothered and our friends, who had checked in earlier, reported the same reception. It was striking because all of the other desk clerks were very welcoming. Pusser's bar was as we remembered it, very crowded on Friday and Saturday, deserted Sunday. Great location and nice people. But beware the showers. In ours, you had to step all the way into enclosure to turn it on and get pelted with icy needles of water before warm water reached that space. No way to escape quickly. Quite primitive for an otherwise updated room. Also our toilet was broken and hair dryer didn't work, but manager gave us a credit. That could happen anywhere. But the shower design is unfortunate And those wretched bulk bottles of shampoo. Better for the environment I suppose but ...ugh. read more

I'd say the benefit of this hotel is location as well as customer service. I had nice interactions with staff which were all very helpful. The rooms are super average and not worth the price charged from my perspective. Reminds me of a budget hotel. I think location is driving prices here. We had a meeting at the hotel and ordered from the restaurant. As others had mentioned the food there wasn't great. I had a tropical salad with shrimp. Shrimp was good but my salad was so drenched in dressing it was soaking wet. Also canned pineapple was used in it. Overall if I came back to this cute town I'd pick another hotel. read more

My family and I spent one night at this hotel using Marriott rewards points last month. Upon checking out and returning home to CA we discovered my daughter had left her Nintendo Switch at the hotel. 4 phone calls and 35 days later without a return call I had to get corporate Marriott involved. I was then called by the hotel and advised they had found the "case" of the switch but the case was empty. I was even able to confirm that they found it IN OUR ROOM. So basically someone at the hotel stole the switch and left the case. What an incredibly disappointing experience at this place. Maybe had the manager or the lost and found extension where we left all the messages returned one of our calls in the first week we'd have gotten it back before it was stolen? Maybe not! We have family that recently moved to Annapolis but I can tell you that we'll never stay at this place again. Awful. read more
