Great service! Authentic vegetarian Indian food! Will be back for more veggie food! Not spicy!

It was counter service only, but for the prices, fantastic. Note: their paper menus are out of date so the items cost more than on the menu. I always attempt to write for vegans/vegetarians/omnivores. However this restaurant is strictly vegetarian but their food is delicious. My husband eats meat and loved the food. Meat-eaters do not need meat at EVERY SINGLE meal, at least I hope. My husband tried to order the masala paper dosai off of the outdated paper menu and they only offered a regular masala dosai. It sure looked like and tasted like a paper dosai to us! I ate about a quarter of his lunch, so he was left a bit hungry. It was just so good! I ordered rice, and rasam off the paper menu. Well, they no longer offer rasam. So I ordered rice, sambar and papadam. Also delicious! The counter order-takets were so very nice. The restaurant was nothing fancy, no booths even, but it was fine. Especially when you take the food and prices into consideration. We will 100% be back!

Nice all vegeterian restaurant with Indian icecreams, sugarcane juices and many North Imdiam and Soitb Indian tiffins. They are selling savories and sweets as well.

We unknowingly tried Annapurna a couple times and I should say the taste, portion per price and variety is perfect!! We tried the Paneer dosa and Cholay Puri both of which had such good taste, massive quantities a really good chutney! Highly recommend - flexible timings and good parkin

My dad had heard about all you can eat dosa at this restaurant, so we decided to try it out. It is indeed all you can eat; however, the dosa they bring out is lightly filled as in there is a ton of dosa and very little potato. In fact, my dad was so frustrated with it that he asked for more filling in a bowl for us to stuff our dosas. If you don't mind that then this is a pretty good deal. The place is very casual almost giving a cafeteria vibe which I don't prefer but for a quick cheap vegetarian meal with my dad sure I'd do it again.

I was here by myself to grab some easy Indian staple food. I ordered a masala dosa and was surprised by the size of it. It was GiGANTIC. I took the challenge to finish it all and it had been a while since I ate dosa from a restaurant. So, savored the meal and enjoyed every bite. The sides were decent. We got hot sambar, and tomato chutney, coconut chutney. Both of the chutneys had a very North Indian flavor to it. It was a self service place with a lot of clean and nicely maintained seating. Definitely worth going back.

No frills casual joint for Indian street food snacks. We ordered a bunch of stuff to share. Overall, everything was alright (for Chicago standards but defo don't compare to other cities or to India). Not the best Indian street snacks I've had, but decent and legit. The dahi puri was pretty good though! If you've never had Indian street snacks, worth checking out. Personally not the best judge since I'm not a big fan of them since I find them too starchy and Carb-heavy with the potatoes on bread combo for a lot of the dishes, but if that's your thing, then go for it.

This is a great place for Indian Veg. Man, I can remember going to the Devon Avenue location from the 80's. Because of that, it is so cool to see their expansion. Annapurna does cafeteria style seating. You place your order up front and they'll bring your food to you. They have certainly expanded their menu throughout the years, all the while maintaining quality. They have good chats, good dosas, in my opinion, great thalis (platters with a little of many things) and ale carte vegetarian dishes that you can order in the form of whole or half. They have Rajma, bhindi, malai kofta, palak paneer, you name it. Lots of good snacks too in case you don't want to fill the belly to the max. There are plenty of desserts plus you can always take sweets to go. Service is fast and the place, at times, can be elbow to elbow, but I think thats because Annapurna is reliable in terms of food and service. It's been around since 1982 and is here to stay.

Worth a taste if pizza is on your mind but may not sway those wanting the traditional. My usual is a ghee dosa and gobi manchurian with gravy. They make their chutneys in-house and they are tasty. My singular largest gripe with dosa shops is the quality of chutneys and flavorings. If they don't get enough business the chutneys may go into the fridge or freezer. That's fine so long as they're watching how long it keeps in either storage. Also, when it comes time to use, they give it the time necessary to completely thaw. Discovering frozen chutney is a no-no and the flavor is different. Some dosa shops try newer flavors that just don't meet the expectations. These guys stick to what the fans know and they receive enough business that everything is fresh. Really wish this business was closer so that I could hit it more often but this area is quite a trek. **Specials are offered daily and on weekends /for games they run buffets. I wondered about the chefs they keep so I inquired. They have a trio?, anyway, trained chefs from different areas of India. This is important because dosa is mainly a staple of south India. Some other regional Indian restaurants try to offer it but fail at the production because their chefs don't know the finer details. They also offer newer styles of dosa variety. I am so stuck on the old school I haven't yet tried. Maybe you will?

These were the BEST manchurians I ever had. The gravy was super salty, so next time I would definitely get it without any gravy. The hakka noodles are soo tasty. The kaju masala was the best thing!! I still dream of the creaminess and full-flavored curry it has. I highly recommend anyone trying it.

If you're considering dining at Kritunga Indian Restaurant in the northwest suburbs of Chicago,…read morethink again. My recent experience there was nothing short of a disaster, and I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment. Here's why: Firstly, the management of the restaurant is incredibly unprofessional. The place is run by a group of young individuals who seem to have no understanding of customer service or respect for their patrons. Upon arrival, it was clear that they prioritized larger parties over smaller groups like ours. Despite the restaurant being relatively new, it was evident that they had not taken the time to properly train their staff or understand the basics of running a successful business. Our dining experience started off poorly and only got worse. The staff barely acknowledged us and seemed disinterested in providing any sort of quality service. The lack of attention to smaller parties like ours was not just noticeable but blatant. We felt ignored and undervalued, which set a negative tone for the entire meal. The food, which is supposed to be the highlight of any dining experience, was utterly disappointing. We ordered several dishes, hoping to enjoy the rich flavors and spices that Indian cuisine is known for. However, each dish was tasteless and bland. It was as if no thought or care had been put into the preparation. The flavors were flat, and the textures were off. It was a complete waste of money, especially considering there are numerous other Indian restaurants in the area that offer far superior food. Adding to the misery was the state of the restaurant itself. The floor was slippery, making it hazardous to walk around. It was clear that cleanliness and safety were not priorities here. Both bathrooms were lacking basic amenities, such as tissues, which is unacceptable. Additionally, there was no salt and pepper in the shakers at our table, a small but significant detail that further highlighted the restaurant's lack of attention to basic customer needs. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was also lacking. Instead of feeling welcomed and comfortable, we felt neglected and uncomfortable. The staff's attitude was one of arrogance and indifference, which was reflected in the poor service and subpar food. It's truly a shame because the northwest suburbs of Chicago have a vibrant dining scene with many excellent Indian restaurants. Unfortunately, this place does not come close to meeting the standards set by its competitors. The combination of poor service, tasteless food, and an unclean environment makes this place a regrettable choice for anyone looking to enjoy a meal out. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. It was a thoroughly disappointing experience from start to finish. The management needs to seriously rethink their approach to running a restaurant and prioritize their customers' needs and satisfaction. Until significant improvements are made, I would suggest avoiding this place and opting for one of the many other decent Indian restaurants in the area. Save your money and your taste buds--do not dine here.
