The naan was rubbery, inedible and raw on the other side. I couldn't believe it. Also the goat was so rubbery, had so much bones & too salty. I had the paneer and butter chicken. the paneer tasted old & i stopped eating them. Then the chicken had so much oil that you can see oil floating on the top. Priya has re-opened! Just got done with their Sunday buffet! The restaurant is under new management but they kept the previous chef! The interior looks great! Partial white brick walls but majority of the walls have a light silvery wallpaper with faint outlines of elephants on them. The buffet was very good--all the vegetable selections were great, there were 4 or 5 chicken selections, 2 different kinds of rice, 2 dessert options, hot tea and mango juice. There is free naan with the buffet (you need to let your server you want that), but there is no longer free dosa nor are mutton or lamb part of the regular buffet any longer either (only on special occasions, holidays etc.) However, I would still come back to Priya though; South Indian cuisine is still my favorite Indian cuisine. We went there this weekend. We tried of you Ala carte items and the buffet. Everything was excellent in taste. The staff was very nice. They seemed short staffed but they were trying hard. So no complaints. I tried the Podi dosa. The chutneys were excellent, samber was awesome. Yeah my daughter really enjoyed the weekend buffet and experienced many new items. She liked most of them. we also ordered goat Curry which was nice but not outstanding. overall we had a wonderful experience and we'll come back here again! read more

Dined here this past cold rainy Thursday night (1-19-2023) for Priya's Biryani Night--it was SO well worth it! I hadn't dined here in about a year or 2 and missed the food here so very much! The amazing goat biryani dinner special I ordered that night was so incredibly hearty, flavorful and awesomely delicious! The meat was nice and tender and the side dishes that came with it like the raita, salna, and bread halwa, were all so fresh and flavorful!! My server was very prompt and attentive the whole time, too! Plus, I loved how the walls were the same colors of India's flag! And last, the whole place was so very clean and orderly! Mutton biryani was ok to eat but tasteless and chicken biryani was spicier. Being a hyderabadi i like spicy food but the biryani they served had chilly powder instead of green chillies (They would have named it as Chilly powder chicken biryani instead). I walked in to the restaurant again on next day evening and complained about the food they served. Someone at the counter has told he will get back to me after talking to the chef but they never got back to me. Meanwhile, I thought of tasting Dosa night - Food was ok and not that great. Came here on a Wednesday for dosa night... and I was thoroughly unimpressed and completely dissatisfied. Food was disappointing as it was all at various temperatures and was not able to enjoy the meal. They say it's unlimited...but it is just for dosa. The higher price I felt was unjustified as they have gone down in the number of items they provide you in their buffet which used to be alongside the dosa night special. The benefit of the other items was that you could refill the items when needed so it can be piping hot, not having to wait for warm Sam jar with your hot dosa and then while waiting for Sam hat the dosa is ice cold. I felt bad for the server, he was managing the entire restaurant himself. I was not upset at service quality... it was a lack of service individuals and not food for value of the price paid. I've been craving Indian food for days, thali to be exact. I don't have a go to indian spot near home so I went to Yelp. Yelp brought up Priya and I noticed they had thali YES!! I went ahead and placed my order and waited for them to open (they were taking orders on Grubhub prior to opening). I got a phone all from a gentleman notifying me that they are not serving the thali right now but could offer something comparable. I ended up with chana masala, basmati rice and garlic naan. Priya is located in a trip mall behind the village tavern, I had never noticed it before. When I arrived to Priya I noticed signage on the front door instructing to call when you appreciate be and staff will bring you your food. The employees inside noticed me reading the sign outside and signaled me to wait. My food was rolled to the door on a cart, the employee was wearing a mask. I was impressed and delighted to see the high level of precaution Priya was taking to Covid-19. It was a perfect no contact delivery of my food. I grabbed my food off the cart and drove home. I unpacked my food and dug in. The chana masala was flavorful, saucy, with a mildly spicy kick. The garlic naan was sooooo good, and had little pieces garlic all over it. The rice was perfect for placing my chana masala on top of. Thali didn't happen today and that's ok, I will be back and get it someday and also check out their weekend buffet too. read more

So saw the note from the store below and enough time has past to not get the driver in trouble for sharing: the Uber driver themselves alerted me to the fact that they were still open serving people but not processing my order that had been waiting a long time. Hence why it was eventually cancelled by Uber Eats if that was the case. So unless the driver is lying, the driver was waiting and giving me updates during the wait and it just wasn't being prioritized. read more

My family and I have been here twice already, and we absolutely love it! The owner is very nice, while he is busy and may seem understaffed, he's very attentive! Seating inside is pretty basic, nothing extraordinary. They will give you bottled water, and food takes some time to prepare, but you know it's always fresh! The first time we were there, my brother actually had an allergic reaction because we didn't realize the goat curry had nuts in it, so be careful! The owner was kind enough to go and get Benadryl for my brother. It was such a kind gesture that we will never forget, this is why we returned! We also order the masala dosa every time we go! I hate to write a bad review, esp about a South Indian restaurant when they're already hard to find, but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I took my mom here last week for lunch. She immigrated from Bangalore and grew up eating almost everything on the menu. We ordered fried cauliflower for an app, which was the only good thing we had. My mom got chicken biryani and I ordered the idli/vada combo. These are extremely common dishes, and they were terrible. My mom suspects the food was reheated. My Vada was an unrecognizable brown and had old grill marks on it. Most Indian restaurants make idli and vada bc it's popular and easy. I was shocked that this place made such a terrible version. You can actually keep the batter for each in the fridge and fry them fresh and serve them within 10 mins. My mom thinks the vada was frozen maybe? The idli was either way over cooked or reheated from who knows when. We were really hungry so we ate a little. I ordered coffee for my mom and "lemon goli" for me. I asked the waiter if the coffee was Indian coffee, and he said it was Madras coffee. It was prob Nescafé, which may be popular in Madras. He also brought 2 cups and charged us for both despite my only ordering one for my mom. I asked him if the "lemon goli" was fresh juice or Limca and was told it's fresh juice. It was definitely Limca. We had already ordered takeout for my dad when we ordered our food. My mom thought maybe my dad would like it. He didn't and everything was thrown in the trash. Finally, after him asking me multiple times what I thought, I told the waiter I thought the idli/Vada was not fresh. On our way out, he said he took it off our bill. He didn't. I got the receipt with the idli/Vada on it in my email and my cc charge is the full amount. The food was terrible, but on top of that the waiter lied to me multiple times. I don't even understand the point of this place. MacDonalds is fresher and tastier. My mom and I left thoroughly disappointed and annoyed. read more

3 stars solely for the taste of the food. Service and actual dining experience are both negative. I love how they have a lot of variety and had vegetarian and chicken/goat/seafood offerings. It looks like their dosa is their best dish there since every table ordered one for each person. I mean, EVERY TABLE ordered this. Goat masala: meat was tender and the stew was tasty. Be careful with the spice though... MEDIUM SPICE IS FIRE!!! Served with white rice and yogurt. Ginger chicken: great taste enveloped in spice and sweetness. It's deep fried and perfectly seasoned. Unfortunately because of the amount of spice used to cook the food, the restaurant reeked of bad BO smell. Going out wearing the same clothing and skin is not advisable because you will offend! I recommend take out and less than two minute exposure to the inside of the restaurant because of the smell. I know, harsh review but let's get real! The restaurant is not hideous, just the smell. SERVICE (or lack thereof): We sat for 25 minutes before we finally flagged down one of the servers to let him know we're ready to order. They only had two servers and the host is helping with taking orders and serving. The server assigned to our table didn't speak English and couldn't help with any questions regarding the dishes we wanted to order. Our food came out after 10-15 mins which was decent but the only contact we had with our server was to order the food and get a to go container. He wouldn't even dispense the check and instead pointed to the front register to take care of it there. I wanted to order mango lassi because My mouth was on fire from ordering MEDIUM spice but that was too much to ask because he never came to check on us. Pains me to be negative about this place - the staff is really really nice. They were very responsive to everything we asked for, welcoming, always courteous and happy to help. However, our experience with the buffet was not ideal. 1) the location of the buffet: pretty narrow, congested area, and hard to move without bumping into others. Especially during the pandemic, and many people forgetting to put on their masks when refreshing their food, it's a massive issue. 2) value: the buffet is $20!! There were maybe 15 items in the buffet. The dishes were ok. I do miss Indian buffets, but $20 is way about what I would pay for this. I have been going to Saffron and Taj Indian restaurants for the longest time and Saffron has consistently let me down so many times in numerous ways. I was hesitant on trying Priya because of my friend who said it's just "okay". Nonetheless, when Saffron declined my order unexpectedly like they do randomly (horrible customer service) I was left no choice but to try Priya.... The best thing that could have happened! I ordered the saag paneer, Rogan Josh, cauliflower shakh, and the butter chicken. My oh my, these all 4 things came delivered on time and was so delicious! I asked them to make sure they make everything with no nuts as we have allergies in the house and they also got all that information correct unlike other restaurants. Everything just tasted so good and was so surprised about how good the food was. I have never been there in person (my family has though) so I can't speak on account to their customer service but that is why I am giving it a 4 star instead of 5 simply because I do not know how the in person quality of restaurant is. We ordered idlis and an egg biryani. * Food: The portions sizes were quite generous. I haven't had biryani this good in a while. The rice was fresh, flavorful, and the eggs cooked perfectly. The idlis were big, the sambar was delicious and plentiful. My parents are generally skeptical of outside Indian food (you know the kind) also agreed that the food was great. * Service: I ordered on a random Tuesday near closing time but the food was ready within 20 mins. Have wide variety of South Indian food, I am vegetarian and they have vegetarian South Indian items. Called ahead and asked if the cook vegetarian and non veg separately was told yes, then asked if their fryer is separate for veg and non veg and was told yes confidently, I have had restaurants lie to me about this so I asked are you sure and was told yes. Drive to the restaurant and at the restaurant find out the they use the same fryer for veg and non veg. Though they had vegetarian options that are not fried. We are a family of 4 we just walks out of the restaurant, if they could lie to a customer we can't trust them on any other ingredients they use in their food. Very disappointed that they don't understand the very simple difference in calling a dish vegetarian or non vegetarian, I am sure they don't understand vegan or other food choices of people. read more

I have come here twice with my husband for the lunch buffet and we love it! They are always rotating which dishes are offered, so you get to try a little bit of everything they have to offer. My husband always wishes they had more chicken dishes. The buffet seems to be dominated by vegetarian dishes. This works for me because I LOVE paneer! His solution is to use the sauce of the dishes with the chicken pakora appetizer and it works out perfectly. Priya uses more spices than other Indian restaurants I have been too, so be prepared for a runny nose... maybe that's just me! The owner/employees are super nice and attentive here. They bring fresh dosa which most places charge extra for. There is a pitcher of water at every table to help combat the spice. When I go up For seconds (or thirds) my previous plate is always cleared before I return. My favorite appetizer is the veggie pakora and My favorite entree is the paneer tikka masala. The weekday buffet is about &11 ie $12. My only complaint about this place is how run down the interior appears. The booths are ripped and worn and it is not very aesthetically pleasing. Delightfully Delicious !!! We, both hubby & I were pleasantly surprise to find this South Indian Restaurant tucked in a corner of a busy mall. Since I was craving for a dosa, spicy curries/food - Priya Indian Restaurant did not disappoint. We shared the amazing freshly made dosa with outstanding chutneys, some chili chicken, chicken fry and Biryani. The service was attentive, processional, good in spite of them being short staffed and having a continuous stream of take out orders for pick up. Since I have no idea how to prepare or cook Indian food, I really appreciate the chance to sample so much of it at one time. Nothing here was too spicy either, which was also much appreciated. (I heard that's typical of the cuisine from this region, so that might be why.) The chicken dishes, vegetable/potato dishes, and chapati and dosas were all fantastic. The ginger tea was spot on (I needed to add a little sugar to make it be what I'm used to). And that breaded/fried dough thing with the cilantro in there - addicting! Although there was barely room for dessert, we made it work. The mango ice cream and bread pudding were SO GOOD!!!! The ice cream was so creamy and full of real mango flavor. Five star review for making a Doordash order right. Was it the dasher that didn't grab my Samosa order? Was it the restaurant? All I know is I called at 9:48pm on a Friday to inform them of the missing part of the order. Maybe the correct action was to go through Doordash. I don't know. I don't order via Doordash often. I don't know the protocol. They made it right. Within the hour I had a fresh order delivered. I was ready to tip the guy (would have been the second driver being tipped that night) but he rang the doorbell and was basically in his car by time I was at the door. Thank you for going above and beyond. While I didn't get to enjoy the samosas that night, my air fryer made them good as new the next night. read more

And then by our sheer luck we came to Priya Restaurant. And I haven't had such tastier and authentic taste in longest of time. This Indian restaurant is great. As non-Indian customers we compress the local places. Gaylord is a top place but Priya stands tall next to their competition.
