Their naans are soft and fluffy and taste fresh. Though we ordered medium spicy, the food was a little bit spicy for us. I recommend ordering low spice if you like non spicy food. This is located in downtown Elmhurst. You can find a parking garage nearby. You can park for free for 4 hours and it's minutes away from the restaurant. The restaurant is a good size. We ordered gobi Manchurian, mango lassi, Indian masala tea, Maharaj dinner special for 2, shrimp masala, lamb vindaloo, garlic naan, and tandoori royal platter. I've been to a number of Indian places and this place is the most generous with their food portions. Most other ones are not shareable especially for a group of 4. Prices are fair and competitive with other Indian places. Service was very friendly and attentive. The drinks are pretty good. I liked that they gave you a large glass for the mango lassi. It was creamy and flavors popped out. The Indian masala tea was good, it was savory. Fyi, if you want basmati rice you'll have to order it separately. Most of the Indian places I've been to in Illinois, you have to order it separately. Overall, I give it 4.5. -gobi Manchurian 4 - this one could pass off as a Chinese dish. If you didn't know it was cauliflower, it could easily pass off as chicken. -Maharaj dinner special for 2 5 - this comes with tandoori chicken, seekh kebab, fish tikka, chicken tikka, rogan josh, dal makhani, and sweet gulab juman. I believe the basmati rice and naan comes with this. The rogan josh is very good. The dal makhani is made up of lentils and kidney beans. I recommend using the naan and rice and eating it with the sauces. The gulab juman is a mildly sweet dessert if you don't eat the syrup on the bottom. -shrimp masala 5 - they put in some big chunks of shrimp which is great. The sauce is medium spicy but enjoyable. This one is my personal favorite. -lamb vindaloo 5 - the medium level does pack a bit of heat. It's still very good. Lamb cubes were very tender. -garlic naan 5 - we didn't know that naan also comes with one of the samplers. The garlic version went fast. I'm not sure what kind are the other ones but they had a nice buttery taste. -tandoori royal platter 5 - this is a good selection of different meats if you are new to Indian cuisine. It comes with tandoori chicken, malai chicken, chicken tikka, and seekh kebab. My personal favorites are tandoori chicken and seekh kebab. The meats are all well seasoned. The waiters were really attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. We started with complimentary papad and chutney, which was a nice touch, and pretty tasty. For appetizers, we went with the veggie spring rolls, which were absolutely phenomenal. For the main course, we ordered paneer makhani with garlic naan. The paneer was delicious, though the gravy leaned a little too much on the sweet side for my taste, but still pretty good overall. We wrapped up the meal with gulab jamun for dessert. It was good, though nothing particularly standout. The restaurant itself is cozy--not too big, not too small. They've got some tables for larger groups and plenty for smaller ones, so it felt well-suited for any occasion. I will say, I've only ever stopped in for lunch so I can't attest to the dinner menu, or really anything else on the menu that's not on the lunch special menu. This is the best Indian food I've ever had. It was so random stopping in here. I was in elmhurst, had a taste for Indian food, this was the closest. We came in and were sat immediately. We took some time ordering but she was patient and answered any questions we had. We came during the lunch special and had the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and keema naan. This same with lentils, basmati rice and garlic naan (I think). The naan came out first and was so good. We had to focus hard not to stuff ourselves on bread before the food. The tikka was so creamy and flavorful, there was enough meat and it wasn't in huge chicken chunks but perfectly proportioned. Same for the curry and butter chicken. We got the chicken curry to share and were able to see the difference in the dinner and lunch portions. For drinks I got a mule and my date had a pineapple margarita. Both were delicious. This place was easy to access and we sat down right away on a Saturday around 6:15pm. That was a good time because tables started filling up at about 6:45pm. Our server was a younger man, and I must say he was nice but seemed to have trouble understanding us and being responsive. Maybe he was new and there was a training gap. The butter chicken sauce was tasty; however, the chicken must have been grilled, it had a smoky flavor that overpowered the dish. I wish the chicken had a milder flavor to allow the sauce to shine. The spinach paneer was a little slimy in texture to me and had cheese chunks that were a bit large. My sister loved both dishes, though, so maybe it's just me! The garlic naan was yummy and great for dipping in the butter chicken sauce. To drink, I ordered a mango lassi. I didn't enjoy it at all. I actually couldn't drink but about a fourth of it.
