A take out Indian restaurant in a small plaza. They have sweets and somosas. 4 star for the food . They made it from scratch. The paratha is made only from 11am to 5pm. The food is served fresh and hot. 1 star for the place. I would like to recommend a take out since there's only 2 sitting small table, dirty inside, garbage overflowing, and the whole plaza is dirty, no maintenance I guess. read more

This is a nice place if you are looking for Indian snacks and sweets. The Samosas and the Pakoras are something that you'd enjoy but are pricey. [7$ for a pound of pakoras]. The service is okay but you don't really care because most of the time you are in a take away mode. I wish they served some nice masala chai too! read more

Really great place to have take-out Authentic Sri Lankan food. The mutton rolls that this place makes are amazing and are a must try. The Kutthu Roti that I got here was a little dry, but it was still one of the best Kutthu Roti's I've had. I was craving mithai and didn't want to drive to the airport so I dropped in here. The sweet selection was limited and not cheap, at $5 for half a pound ($10 for 1 pound, I guess). Half a pound gave me 5 pieces. I chose 2 kinds of gulab jamun, khoya barfi, sugar-free barfi and milk cake for my DD. The gj were very heavy with syrup and a bit dense in the centre. The other items were sweet but had little/no aromatic spices. Guess I'll have to head out to the airport and Sweet India for my sweet tooth. read more

I've been coming here to get samosas and mithai for a few years. I found this was one of the few nice samosa places in Scarborough. A bit pricey at .80 cents each but worth it. I always call ahead to make sure the samosas are freshly fried before picking up and the owner always seems offended when asking. The service definitely needs improving. read more

I have been going here for over 25 years. The quality of the sweets has steadily gone down while the prices have skyrocketed. Customer service is unknown in this establishment! I don't want to go back but I do only because it is in a convenient location for me, very close to Hwy 401 and Warden and I have not found any other place as close. To cite a few examples of why I keep telling myself I'm not going back: The sweets are not always fresh, some sweets may be 3-5 days old. When I ask when they were made, I get response in a cold manner. They note the prices of what you buy in a notebook and tell you the total. We have no way of verifying it. For all I know, they could be pressing their thumb on the scale when weighing the items (not saying that they do it). One time, I went back after six months and I was told that I underpaid about $10 for my last purchase. Only reason they could recover the $10 was because I'm a returning customer. I have spent hundreds, maybe thousands of $$ there yet they embarrassed me in front of other customers for $10. I bought ras malai and when I got home, it tasted spoiled. I called them right away, and they said I should have checked with them whether it was fresh before I left; they would exchange it this one time only. As I was leaving, the employee that usually serves us, told me in front of the owners to clean the table before I leave. I have eaten in the top most restaurants and the dingiest places in the world, but this is the very first time I have seen a customer having to do the employees job. There are too many other experiences that left a bad taste but I stay away for a while and decide to try again to see if they've made any improvements. When will I learn! read more

If i could, I would rate it 0 stars. I bought a pound of jalebi and it tasted terrible. It left a terrible itch in my throat that other jellaba's did not cause. Along with the overpriced terrible jalebi, I was served with a rude hostess. Who thought it was more important to chit chat with friends while taking my order. I visited this store due to the ratings but after this experience I will be returning to this store. Heard about this place from a friend for 'makki ki roti' and 'saag'. Visited the place one day and ordered the above. It was made fresh. I was amazed. Tasted pretty good too. Not some microwaved food. Also got some 'kajar ka katri' when it was freshly made. WOW! It was fuking awesome. Just melted in my mouth. Later I had 'Channa Batura'. Even that dish was very well made.
