The temple hinge had cracked off the main frame part and I took my glasses to Costco optical, LensCrafters, Jins in California and they all couldn't fix it. Jins USA couldn't even fit my old lenses in any of their frames because Jins USA is completely different stock from Jins Japan. I took my broken frame to Paris Miki Ala Moana because they sell Japan frames but they were not helpful and couldn't help me. I know I'm not the first person this has happened to so I was disappointed I couldn't find anyone to fix my glasses. I just include this part so you can avoid all the trouble and just come here if you have a similar problem. SEOUL OPTICAL is on the 12th floor in the Pacific Guardian Tower, which is next to Walmart across Makaloa. They open at 9am. It's not facing the street or in a shopping center so you have to go looking for it. Kenny is the optician and speaks both Korean and English and was extremely helpful and told me he can't fix the broken temple hinge but he did have some frames that would fit my lenses! He immediately showed me a few frames and I was out of there in 10 minutes with my new glasses. My new frames are made in Korea, they are even lighter than my Japan frames, and the nosepads are not the clear silicone ones that turn green after a while, they are silver and so cool. My frames were $150 which is a great price compared to Costco/Lenscrafters and because they are made in Asia, fit my face better than any American brand frames I own. Even if you're not Asian, I highly recommend this place for your optical needs, he does carry US name brand frames too, but the frames made in Asia are far superior and cheaper than a trip to Japan/Korea.

My only regret is, year after year, giving certain widely advertised eyeglass shops business who overcharge on frames, especially, and trick you into believing you're getting a good deal. I always feel sorry for whoever has to help me. It usually takes me 45-60 minutes. I tend to get the same style. I know what I like. I warned Maria that I take a long time to find one, but also showed her my two glasses that I currently wear. I was pleasantly surprised that she was able to bring me 8 -10 similar styles. I was shocked that I found one that I liked within 15 minutes. Maria is very good! Dr Poon found a retinal hole/tear on my eye. I am going to Pali Momi right now to laser repair it. What stands out is how he approaches routine eye exams. He doesn't rush through them. He takes his time, listens to what's actually bothering you, takes detailed notes, and has genuine conversations about your eyes and your concerns. Compared to other optometrists I've seen, it's night and day. He also takes care of my family. That says something about who I trust with the people I love. The office is clean and in a great location. Only real gripe is the parking situation in the building, but that's on the landlord, not him. I'm willing to put up with it to see someone like this. He deserves to do well and I hope he stays in this location. Looking forward to seeing him next year.

I haven't gone to see him in close to 4 years so I have no idea. In the search for a new eye doctor that was near me Downtown Vision came up and with really good reviews. Being the holiday season they were busy so it took a month to be able to get an appointment on my day off but it was well worth the wait. Dr. Chun and his wife Mia are terrific! They're both extremely personable and I felt welcomed from the moment I stepped into their office. I ended up getting a pair of progressive bifocal glasses that I can use for work and close reading. I also had my regular distance lenses replaced on my older set and I couldn't be happier with both of them. I have no hesitation recommending them if you're in need of eye care.

His office overlooks the beautiful city lines of Makiki and the mountains. This, while you browse his wide variety of premium frames or, if you choose, conveniently watch TV in the brightly lit waiting area. It's clean. Dr. Saito is very clean. Front desk, waiting area, ALL machines are clean. Did I mention the front desk? ALL of them came from hospitality. Friendly, helpful, and kind. Have a question? They'll answer it, and if they don't have an answer, they'll help to get it. My family and I have been seeing Dr. Saito since his previous location. He's personable and makes everyone in our family feel welcomed and cared for. He has a knack for kids and treats us adults like his old friends. We all feel comfortable seeing him and enjoy visiting his office (never a drag). He always stays up to date with the latest technology to help care for our eyes. He is patient and always willing to answer any questions you may have. We definitely recommend Dr. Saito!

They have this cool retina scanner that you can pay extra for to get a better map of it, seemed pretty nifty! Dr Lai was very helpful and patient with any questions I had and everyone was really professional and nice with us. Their COVID practices seemed good too. Would highly recommend this place and intend to go here regularly for our yearly checkup! Oh one other thing, I have a weird issue with the drops that dilate your pupils. In the past when i got them I would be dilated and spacey looking for 48 hours. I told Dr Lai this and she used much weaker drops and it helped a lot!
