The office is serene and well appointed in an adorable and classic Pasadena home office. Parking is street parking but I am always able to find parking easily. Dr. Gordon has a wonderful gentle presence and warm personality. She is always prompt with responding and attempts to accomodate reasonable requests. As far as her work goes, she has done wonders and my desired results have been met. I have been to a large well known acupuncture center in Pasadena before Dr. Gordon. While that place is decent, it is much more expensive and all of the sessions are identical and sometimes uncomfortable (parts of my body fell asleep). Dr. Gordon is different -- she has managed to get me to fully relax and pass out during my sessions. A few sessions varied due to the condition I was in. Regardless, I always walk out of Dr. Gordon's office refreshed and relaxed. It's a definite joy, finding Dr. Gordon! The best part? This is my body and I am fully aware of the changes it went through while dealing with stress. the dr's notes on the size of my body were always pretty neutral. Until my last appt. I had mentioned that since releasing my back and hips had been really bothering me. In response she told me that my hips hurt because of the extra weight on my body, I replied quickly and told her that was not the case and continued with my treatment but already knew I would not be coming back. A practitioner denying the pain due to fatness is so disappointing! I have not lost any significant amount of weight since that visit but have thankfully dealt this the hip pain through another practitioner and it has made it so much easier for me to comfortable workout again! I am lifting weights and doing yoga again since that pain has become less and less and my body feels better and more ready for movement. I type this review only to share with other fat women my experience, especially because I was able to relieve the pain without losing weight and am now able to move my body better than even I was at my tiniest! My mental health was disregarded on multiple occasions and I'm really disappointed in how my time as a client ended. Editing for clarity and to respond to you: in 2023 when I began at your practice, I was not under the care of a psychiatrist, I had not seen one since pre pandemic which is partly why I began my care with you. I'm not sure where you have the information that I was not taking the medication my psychiatrist recommended if I didn't have one. If you could provide me with the name of the so called psychiatrist I would be able to respond to that claim in more detail. I have always taken my prescribed medications. Your mental health referrals in July of this year both had full case loads and as you said during your referral, "most aren't taking new clients due to the fires and it's effects on mental health"
