I've shopped here a number of times and have found it to be hard to move around in and the employees unhelpful. Today, takes the cake though. I ordered an ornament online for in-store pickup. I received an email that my order was ready for pickup and that I had seven days to pick it up. I arrived at the store around 10am and it was already very crowded with a long line. I browsed for a bit to avoid the line. I got in line at 10:15am. There were two people at the counter and about two people in front of me. I stood waiting for about 15 minutes. The phone was ringing off the hook and the lady answering was very rude from what I could hear. When it was finally my turn at the counter, I told them I had a pick up order. The woman took my name and went to search for it. She came back and couldn't find it. She asked for my order number and to see the email. She went looking again and no look. The other employee said to just give me one off the shelf and she did not want to. The other employee then went off to search for it. It was now past 10:40 and I had an 11am appointment someplace else. I could not wait much longer. The woman was gone for a long time searching for a now 3rd time. when she came back, I told her I couldn't wait much longer and didn't have time to come back to the store. She was incredibly rude and acted like her not finding my order was my problem, rather than hers. She got snippy with me and said if I am sure i actually ordered the item, paid for the item, and ordered it from the correct store. I then showed my various emails that said I paid, that it was ready for pickup, and that the store was for Annie's hallmark. She still was acting like it wasn't her problem and was kind of like oh well. Don't know what to tell you. The original clerk then was like just give one off the shelf, since she already paid and stuff. The clerk now helping me for even more rude and made comments like now she'll need to contact Corporate and hopefully she'll figure it out. I can see why they couldn't find my order. It was a mess behind the counter, with things piled up. I'm assuming my order was maybe mixed in that mess. I don't think I'll be returning to this store. The employees are rude. read more

I went here to do a little Christmas shopping with my girlfriend, and was thoroughly disappointed with the layout of the store. It seemed as though a ton of stuff was jammed into a small area. As I was walking through the store, I found it difficult to move around. Several fragile items are bunched together with little room to move. I was able to find a couple nice greeting cards, but not much else. You can tell the store was very unorganized. read more

Horrible customer service. I was given earrings as a gift that broke after 2 hours of wearing them. I simply wanted to do an even exchange. Store is items cannot be returned without a manager. Yet, there was not manager present, he "went out for something to eat and would be back in about an hour." An hour later, when I called to speak to him, he "had left for the day" although I could hear him speaking to the associate in the background. I DO NOT appreciate being LIED TO! went there for my yearly hallmark ornament. I have never met such snarly staff. unhelpful, borderline nasty (told a man to just go home and get his cell to show a 10% coupon cuz his tablet didn't bring up the email). said there was no way they could help him (he was like 85 and trying to buy a $4.00 card). went to get a box for my purchase...gone 15 minutes with the line just piling up behind me. ornaments are not together and strewn all over the store...was told I was lucky to even find what I wanted. that's why people shop online rather than shopping local. wasted my time . will NEVER, NEVER go back there again. think this is why the one at McKinley mall closed, had same type of staff. read more

I have never been in here before, but I am glad I stopped by because they got me out of quite the predicament. You see, I call my one grandmother Nana. In fact, even if you have only met her once and aren't her grandchild, you probably will still call her Nana. She also loves cards, so I always get her a birthday card with "Nana" on it, not a sappy "Grandmother" or "Grandma" one. I usually don't have much of an issue finding one, but this year, I went to 5 places including department, grocery, discount, and drug stores and not 1 Nana card...I just lost my other grandmother earlier this year and my Nana is turning 85, so I wasn't going to settle. She literally will go show her Nana card to the other ladies in her building and talks about it to my mom for weeks afterward. I was running out if time to get it in the mail so I stopped at Annie's. Not only did they have multiple Nana cards I could choose from, they had so many cards for any occasion. I found a great card and then browsed around. They have a large selection of gifts for anyone. From Christmas and holidays, Peanuts gang, pets, various collectible lines, Buffalo themed, Buffalo-sports items, books, stationary, etc, as well as decor, wrapping paper, and party items. They also had a large discount/clearance section with high quality merchandise. The store was neat and organized, but not so crowded like some places where you are nearly knocking things over at every turn. I was checked out quickly and the associate was friendly and prompt. I have been a customer of Annie's Hallmark Store at the Southgate Plaza for many years. They should stick to cards and nothing else. I bought a $45.00 Debbie Macomer Cedar Cove Bag and had it for 34 days because I could not get there within the 30 days that my receipt says is the extent of the warranty, which is Annie's Hallmark Store at the Southgate Plaza policy not Hallmark's policy. Hallmark corporate stores policy is 90 days so I was at Annie's Hallmark Store at the Southgate Plaza mercy. They do not honor Hallmarks policy. The two 20 something girls, and the 30 something manager that could no make change if the register didn't tell what change to give but being experts in rips claim it was not a defected bag although it is pulling apart in different spots at the bottom of the bag, would not return it for cash or another bag. It is a beach bag so I guess my towels were to rough and split the bag open. I guess if you are going to buy anything there make sure it goes bad within the 30 days or you out of luck. I hope others will stop buying in there because I am done and I spend a lot of money in there especially at Christmas. Karen Adam read more
