Strawberry Rhubarb Jam is the absolute best !!!! Pretzels made while you wait. Nothing like a warm pretzel.

Amish pretzels are among may very favorite things. As soon as I read about Sara-Faye's Soft…read morePretzels, I knew I had to make sure I got some. At $2.50 each for the original plain ones, they're a LOT cheaper than most other hot pretzels. And they're SOOO good! I bought 4 so I could take them home and freeze them.

Their menu offers: the Regular (salt & butter), Cinnamon Sugar, Garlic & Herb, and Sour Cream & Onion. On our recent visit, they added Parmesan and a Hot Dog Pretzel. They also have dips (homemade cheese sauce, homestyle sweet mustard, and cream cheese (have to specially ask for this)), and beverages (Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, Southern Brewed Sweet Iced Tea, bottled water, and sodas). This time, we ordered: +The Regular +the Cinnamon Sugar +Garlic & Herb +Homemade Cheese Sauce +Cream Cheese Frosting Note that the sauces are good for almost 1 of the pretzels; the pretzels are larger than normal, so you may need about 2 sauces per pretzel, if you're a scooper. There was a huge line, so we thought we would receive hot pretzels; unfortunately, they were just all room temperature and seemed to have been prepped ahead of time. Note that this is a popular stopping point for tour buses, so you may be standing and waiting in line for about 40+ minutes. Staff is friendly. This place is cash only, and there is no ATM on-site (in or outside of the Bakeshop) - there is a local bank a little less than two miles down the road, though. Plenty of parking for both tour buses, trucks, and smaller vehicles. There are also covered seats as well as a cute animal farm of goats and fluffy chickens to feed. +lukewarm pretzels +cash only! +located in the lot of Bird-in-Hand Bakeshop +plenty of parking

Our first stop of the day was Rumspringa Brewery which I had been to about 12 years prior, just before I started yelping. It's co located with my hope wine gallery. The taproom itself has bright wood floors which dominate the color scheme and then there is merchandise all around the room including sweatshirts and beer to go. Finally there are pictures of Amish country on one of the walls which is fitting. I went with a flight here As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery. At rumspringa it consists of 5 beers for $15. I chose the harvest gold, red caboose, otra mas, altbier and finally the blood orange cider. For my first beer I started with the Harvest gold which was a nice malty beer with lots of flavor and a clean finish. Second was the Red caboose which tasted like a nice brown with some hops on the front and a nice caramelly flavor on the finish. Up third was the Otra mas which had a smooth start with a sort of malty and sour type finish all rolled into one. I don't think I have had a beer like this in a long time and it wasn't my favorite. Fourth was the altbier which also had a smooth start with a deep rich flavor on the finish. It was a really nicely flavored beer and my favorite of the bunch. Last but certainly not least was the Blood orange cider which was sweet from the start with a bit of fruit at the finish. I don't know that I could have told you it was blood orange until the end of the aftertaste which had almost a perfume like taste of it. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. It doesn't seem like you are going to get any supper hoppy or trendy beers here and that's ok as they are doing good with more traditional recipes.

There goes my dream of the Amish stomping on the grapes like in old France. The place also was severely understaffed. One poor woman was up and down those stairs trying to do the job of three people. Will be back to try the spirits.

The pretzels are delicious and they always have a new flavor of ice cream or a food item on special! We've tried the strawberry, blueberry and peach soft serve already! (Peach is my fav so far!) They do meat filled pretzels as well as pretzels sticks and various treats! They also have hard ice cream and food on their menu. My little one enjoys the pretzels, ice cream and the fun playground and pond with ducks! The playground is great and they also have little machines where you can grab some food for the ducks (the fish eat them too !). The general feel and vibe is so comforting and warm - my husband loves going there for that reason alone. The bathrooms are spacious and the women's bathroom has a changing table. They have information for tourists and local things to do as well. One of the best parts about Hayloft is their mission - they work to support at risk youth in the community and all the people who work there are volunteers! Tips left for staff show appreciation and they are very nice. Since we found Hayloft, it has become a "regular" stop on our list of places to visit when we come to PA :)

The ladies were baking them right in front of you! They were juice and yummy with cheese! They're served warm which was great on a rainy day. There's a pond outside and ducks, a produce stall across the street. I also tried their ice cream which was very creamy! Free water, too. The proceeds go to the Allegheny Boys camp, and I asked the staff about it. Seems like a very worthy cause.
