Stopped in for the first time this morning. Greeted with a smile and such friendliness. We were lucky to make it when we did as the store was almost sold out. My daughter picked out some brownies and I cannoli's. My daughter inhaled her first brownie in the car and licked her fingers. "That was so delicious!". I ate one of my cannolis when we got home. One of the best creme filled donuts that I have had. The assorted donuts are just typical and nothing special to me. I recommend the peanut butter creme filled donuts. The donuts are full of flavor and very dense. Ann's Pastry Shop is one of the best places to check out in Wadsworth Square. Be prepared to wait in line if you don't get there early enough. Best donuts around! The cream sticks are the best I have ever had. Cookies and brownies are good. Cakes are great. Great service.

They have giant cream horns. Ok, after getting that out of the way, I went in with a few friends to try some of their donuts and was amazed by how much stuff they had out alongside their donuts, like minicakes, cannolis, crème puffs, etc. The one thing that caught my eye was the massive cream horns they have and it left me and my friends speechless. After our speechlessness, we ordered a maple glazed long john, a lemon glazed lemon filled donut, and regular glazed and a cherry cake donut. The cream in the maple glazed long john kept on spilling out when I tried to cut it for taste testing, and it was delicious and creamy. The lemon filling in the lemon glazed donut wasn't overbearingly sweet, which made it awesome. Alongside that, the other two donuts were great as well. I really wish I could have gotten one of the cream horns as it was definitely a sight to behold. I would definitely suggest this place to anyone. read more

Ignore any reviews that are more than a couple years old. Prior to the ownership change, this was a great place to get not just pastries, but bread, pies, cookies and more. Now, the prices have gone up, the size and quality have gone down, and the selection is lacking. They seem to only have one loaf of each bread type and they no longer carry any strudels, pies and the like. They rearranged the counters which had been in the same place since the 70s, taking out a lot of the space for goods and replacing it with a table and chairs. Used to be a 5 star place, but anymore, 2 and a half would is the best I can give them. read more

Ever since I started dieting, I've gotten quite the sweet tooth. I work in the Barberton area and we often come to wadsworth area for lunch since there's not much in Barberton. After lunch, my coworker likes to drive around to waste time and he found this location one day so we made a stop here after lunch. Location is right on the strip but parking is rather easy to find, at lunch at least. I walked in and it seems a bit "dated" compared to the outside. Anyhow, I looked over the offerings and settled on a cannoli. Man, what treat was. I only bought one and instant regretted not getting 2. I haven't tried anything else but I'm willing to make another stop to try out their other goodies or get another cannoli. read more

WOW! I don't even know where to begin! So, my birthday is tomorrow but my coworkers wanted to celebrate today because we have a very busy day scheduled tomorrow. They brought in donuts from Ann's Pastry Shop. When I opened the box, I was instantly smacked in the face with the wonderful sweet smell of confectionary perfection. I immediately grabbed a maple cream stick out of instinct but then I wondered if I would be missing out on the crulliers and the sugar twists. These donuts are legit. They're real. They're made with real pastry techniques and real pastry cream. These are unlinke any donut I've ever had before. The outsides are crispy and fresh, the insides are soft and fluffy, and the glazes/frostings/fillings are flavorful with the perfect amount of sugar in them. I feel like I've been lied to all these years about what a donut is supposed to taste like. All those chains are filling your tastebuds with hogwash! You have got to stop in here and experience what a REAL donut tastes like. You won't want to go back to the plain old chains ever again. read more

A sweet local bakery. The lady locks and maple cream sticks are my families favorites! My only complaint is, I got a birthday cake from here and it wasn't what I expected. The cake didn't come out like I ordered it, but the birthday person still loved it! So, I guess it was still a win! read more

The service I received was atrocious. The woman working was on a phone call that was obviously personal, not business and she acted very irritated when I walked in. I asked a couple questions and took a minute to look as it was my first trip. She barely answered my questions and clearly wanted to get the transaction over. As I was leaving she picked up her cell phone and said "ugh sorry about that" to whoever she was talking to which I thought was pretty rude. I sampled a few different items and wasn't too thrilled. The icing on the cupcake was horrible - so much sugar it was stiff and crunchy. The peanut butter cookie was decent but nothing to rave about. Also tried a chocolate cake bite and a lemon cake bite. The lemon was good, definitely the best thing I had, but the chocolate tasted off - maybe old? I doubt I'll be going back. read more

Super hype. As in it's not as good as anyone from wadsworth will admit. Cake is dry. Pastries very crispy- on a wood chips level. Doughnut were average- like a grocery store fresh baked. And not clean. Like that coffee pot claiming to be Starbucks is filthy. The plants in the window are a nice boho touch but you have to clean up the fallout dirt. Floors weren't clean. Nice people. We have been staying in town for a few days from out of state and decided to check out the main st. We stopped in and was greeted right away. We looked a bit at what they had which wasn't much as it was at the end of the day just before close. My husband and I got a brownie each and my day a cookie. It was good but to say it was over the top I can not. It was worth the cost and was tasty. I may go again if I get a sweet tooth. read more

Update: gave them a second try and Was so excited to find giant cream puffs. I waited a long time to write this review, which is good because It would have been a novel of ranting. My puff wasnt full of pastry cream, but straight up COOL WHIP. Ignorance!! Blasphemy!! It was waxy and artificial tasting and disgusting. Shall not return. I stopped in today and as soon as I walked in the lady greeted me with a huge sweet "HI" she was so friendly!! The girl who rang me up was so sweet too. I wanted to add a few things to my pick up order and she was so nice about everything!! Very polite and very kind. I got some cream Styx and they were awesome!! Just like I remember as a kid!! I also got raisin filled cookies that were the perfect mix of crumble crunch and softness. The flavor was amazing. The cut out cookies when really good too! I've shopped at Ann's since the 60's. I'm glad the business remains open but long for the quality that use to be. Started off with last Thanksgiving when they refused to take orders ahead of time. When I phoned in a young person told me it's first come first served in a very disrespectful tone. The quality and size of product is totally inconstant. A few weeks ago I complained after getting home that my order was not correct. And since then every order I've placed has not been correct, I believe this to be intentional, Perhaps from the lack of adult supervision. If you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourself .to an impressive product, make the drive to West Side Bakery, my new bakery. read more

Stopped by recently to get some doughnuts for the overtime crew at my work. Gotta say, for super early on a Saturday, this place was already fairly busy. The shop itself is pretty small inside, and I was third in line. The smell when you walk in is amazing, freshly baked pastries and breads scents smacking your nose as soon as you enter. The line moved quickly though, even though the people in front of me were putting a hurting on their doughnuts, buying multiple dozen at a time. I only needed two dozen. Though this was my first time going, it was hardly the first time I had eaten their doughnuts, and knew enough about it to get a dozen of just the cream sticks. They seem to be everyone's favorite, and they did not disappoint this day at all. I got half a dozen maple, half a dozen chocolate. The other dozen I just asked them to mix them up. I obviously didn't get to try every single type (unfortunately!), but I did have a maple cream stick. These are really big, the maple is very sweet, but seems to balance out with the half gallon (clearly kidding, but dang do they use a lot) of pastry cream bursting out with every bite. I also took some home at the end of the day for the family to enjoy, and lucky me, got one of their home made sour cream doughnuts the next morning. If you love cake doughnuts, this is the doughnut for you! Slightly sweet, tangy, somehow dense and light at the same time, perfect with a cup of coffee. If you live in Wadsworth, I doubt this review is for you because you likely already know. For anyone passing through though, check 'em out! read more

Mike P's review of a doughnut shop prompted me to write this review. Ann's has been a fixture on the square in Wadsworth for more than 30 years. It's a small, traditional bakery - doughnuts, cookies, pastries, pies, cakes and bread. What draws me to Ann's are the creme sticks - vanilla creme filled versions of nectar of the gods! The establishment seems to change hands but the creme stick secrets get handed over to each new owner. Yippee! While in town for a Christmas visit a couple of years ago, my best friend who now lives in Orlando, FedEx'd a dozen creme sticks back to her mom in Florida (mom used to work for the local police department in Wadsworth when we were in high school - let's just say my friend and I are past our 15th high school reunion!). What doughnuts do you know of that inspire that kind of devotion? Go get creme sticks at Ann's! read more

I won't tell you how I received these cupcakes today.....but we got a half dozen of yellow/chocolate mixed with a white frosting w/jelly beans. First of all...from one baker to another. Ya'll should be ashamed of selling those cupcakes to the public. They were at least 1+ days old (I would assume more)....the "buttercream"....wasn't a buttercream, but actually tasted like the filling to a cream stick??? I was embarrassed for you. Cake was dry, dry, dry......and then"creamstick" filling for icing. Wow.....I would professionally rethink things if I were running this place. Because if that's an example of the quality you serve, people would be better off hitting Giant Eagle...... Sorry...but they were just that bad. And right before easter too?? That's what shocked me the most. Maybe the donuts ARE your best product.....but in the meantime don't sell stale cuppies....that's a bad judgement call. read more
