Freshest bread, cookies, scones - well worth stopping in for a specialty bread - priced right for great food!

Wow--this is a quick review to match the quickness of the service. I stopped by Breads of Fairlawn this morning, just two days before Christmas. Parking was easy, and the door was wide open when I arrived around 9:00 a.m. The line wasn't too long, which was impressive given the timing. As I waited, I noticed one of the many signs stating cash or check only--uh oh. I rummaged through my purse and managed to come up with $8.00. Whew! Just enough for what I was hoping for: a loaf of sourdough. I love sourdough. Mine was a complete failure back when everyone else mastered it during the COVID era. Since my husband is gluten-free, bread has mostly disappeared from our home, and when I do buy it, I usually choose small half-loaves for the freezer. But with Christmas here, I decided to treat myself to a full, good-tasting loaf--and I found exactly that. The sourdough loaf was $7.00, and they offered to slice it at no extra charge. I was also offered samples (which I happily accepted). I tried the Parmesan-crusted onion bread and immediately understood the hype. The crust was chewy, the cheese flavorful, and there was a subtle onion finish--perfect for snacking on the way home without dipping into my new loaf. Once home, I tried the sourdough. The end piece is always my favorite test bite, and it did not disappoint. The shop itself is cozy but efficient, easy to get in and out of, and conveniently located near Route 18. The aroma of fresh bread was divine, and the staff was fun, friendly, and incredibly helpful--even with the steady flow of customers picking up holiday goodies. I also learned they accept Venmo and Zelle, which is great to know for next time. They even offered me a calendar of their daily bread specials, and I noticed that sourdough is one of their regular daily offerings--very good to know. I love this bakery! Walk in & the aroma from the bread is wonderful.. They always have a wonderful selection of breads, pastries, & cookies. They put out a monthly calendar so you know when your favorite breads will be baked. Bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. I love the multi seed & cherry walnut. My husband loves the 3 cheese bread banana pepper, jalapeño cheddar, & five cheese pepper corn Swiss. Service is friendly & efficient. The bakery is well design & offers some jams & tapenades too. read more

Wow! All I can say is WOW! I legitimately picked up the loaf of Mediterranean Herb Cheese bread and just started taking bites right off the loaf because I couldn't help myself. I've never had such incredible bread. Definitely the best quality bread I've ever had. Truly life changing. It was still fresh and moist even 2 days later. I'm a sucker for cheese bread, and chunks of I believe Parmesan were literally falling off the loaf because there was so much. Just the perfect amount. We also tried the Reese's brownie, maple pastry, and blueberry scone. Everything was INCREDIBLE! Don't walk to this place, RUN!!!! read more

The breads and pastries are wonderful. The customer service is horrible. The dark haired girl threw my loaves of bread on the counter and was going to send me out the door without a bag. Delicious breads, cookies, and scones. So many choices...oh..and the smells....delightful! I pre ordered several loaves a day in advance for a Christmas dinner. When I picked up my order the day of, i was told they had run out of one of my bread loaves! Bummer! I was quickly offered a credit for more than the original cost of the item. Say whaaaa? My favorite local bakery! Located at the end of a tiny plaza on W Market St., you could almost drive right past - but don't! It always smells great inside and they have a ton of different breads, breakfast pastries, and cookies. My favorite is their croissants...they are airy and delicious and huge. I tried their sourdough bread this weekend too and it did not disappoint! For reference though, they are a cash or check only business and they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Excellent place for fresh homemade artisan breads! In addition to their delicious breads, cookies and other delightful goodies are available too. During my visit today, I bought a loaf of sourdough, the pecan raisin bread and a honey lavender macaroon. The staff person working was very helpful and I was able to get both loaves sliced. Everything I purchased was super fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the sourdough with the chicken dish I made for dinner. It was my first time to eat the pecan raisin bread and it was excellent toasted. Wonderful breakfast bread! The macaroon was perfect! Loved the flavor combination. The breads here are absolutely fantastic! This place has become a weekly staple for us. They do have limited variety of options on a given day but they bake different breads every day of the month. Over a given months there are so many breads to try! Check out their monthly bread calendar on their website to decide what bread you want and what day to go. All the employees have been very kind to me, helping me pick out breads or pick out a jam from their collection. We love their sourdough and harvest grain bread the most. Awesome small business with the freshest breads. Grab a baguette and some lunch meat...you will never hit a sun shop again. My sons year through the baguettes and pretzel bread the day I bring it home. And if you want a mind-blowing experience, try one of their saucer-sized Chocolate Cinnamon rolls! But my ultimate favorite was the Parmesan Onion bread. This place looks to be a great bread shop. Very clean and well displayed. Very limited selection though. No more than four varieties. I wish I could comment on how tasty it might have been. The one star is for total rudeness of the gentleman working behind the counter. I was never greeted or even acknowledged when I walked in because he was too busy with another couple. They were discussing restaurants they frequent, last time they saw each other etc. Not sure they were even making a purchase. Never bothered to say he'd be right with me.
