I've always gotten the best scalp massages while my hair was shampooed, thurough consultations from Alyssa with realistic advice of what would look best on me, product recommendations for my hair type, and great service by the front desk. Nicole does really beautiful work on my (unruly) eyebrows and it was refreshing to have someone tell me not to pluck them and let them grow out. She shapes them really nicely and is quick. Overall for a high end salon you get a very high end experience worth the price you're paying. Although I'd say the parking can be unpredictable so arrive a little early for wiggle room.

I am such a big fan of Jake and recently listened to a podcast in where she talks about striving to provide the best customer experience. Her team failed to live up to that promise. I think it may have been a lack of communication issue. I really do hope that's all it was. I scheduled a make up appointment the day of. I called the location and confirmed date and time. I live an hour away and was looking forward to being glammed up at The Body Labb with a MUA I had heard/seen so many great things about. I arrive to my appointment right on time. I had called ahead to advise them I would be maybe 3 minutes late and the young lady who answered the phone was so polite and said to not worry about it. So there was notification of me still planning on arriving to said appointment. No one greets me and the MUA I booked with had someone in the chair. I assumed maybe that appointment was late and it was about to finish up. I don't know anything about make up so I could not determine if it was half way in or almost done. After 35 minutes of waiting I finally said I was such time appointment and asked the MUA if i had some time to run to the store to grab something to drink. The MUA states yes. I go and purchase the drink only to come back and have the MUA tell me they are feeling ill and cannot take care of me. This is 45 minutes after my scheduled time. The person offered to have the other MUA work on me but that person had a few people there. I felt like if I accepted I would be an inconvenience and I would also be pushing my upcoming plans even more behind. My original person apologized and offered a discount for the next time I book and was very polite. I would've really appreciated a phone call to cancel the appointment if the person was feeling ill. I was there for 50 minutes total with no idea that my appointment would not take place. I could've tried getting in somewhere else. I declined the offer of the other MUA taking care of me because at that point I felt that i would be pushing my plans back even more. When I called to advise them on the probability of being late, I would've appreciated them to tell me that the appointment was canceled due to illness. I would've been understanding of that even if I was already close by. Maybe the MUA didn't relay the message of leaving for the day to the young lady who answered the phone. I hope this never happens to anyone else and this simply was an off day.

The store is massive and gorgeous as it's clean because it was only open for a week. We were greeted by two guys who said they could get us in immediately though it looked like a packed house (waited maybe 10 minutes so not bad). They offered complimentary drinks like sodas, bubble tea with rainbow jelly, Vietnamese iced coffee, wines, and cocktails. The drinks were decent. The basic pedicure started at $38 (I believe). I can't remember the cost of a manicure but I asked for medium almond nails (extra fee) with Gel X (extra fee) and cateye (extra fee) so my set was probably around $100? Lee did a fantastic job on my pedicure and Brian was great to talk to as he worked on my fingernails. My only concern was the fake nail he put on as he placed the whole thing directly on my nails. The issue is that my nails have a curve to them so it left a gap between my real and fake nails. Usually, other nail salons place the fake nails near the tip of my real nails so they naturally curve with my nails. Anyway, it's been two weeks and my nails still look good. Universal Nail Bar also offers facials, massages, and waxing. It's almost a one stop shop. They work too many days and very long hours so don't forget to tip your nail technicians well.
