I've gone to Alyssa for about a year, I usually get about 3-4 inches cut off and I started getting bangs. Alyssa has really given me the confidence to get bangs and keep them (view photos). Truly such a great experience. The salon is located in Synder plaza which can get crowded for parking, but you can easily park at the end of the lot in the parking garage by Ramble Room if you're unable to find a parking spot. I've been coming to see Alyssa (hair cut) and Nicole (eyebrows) for the last year or so and they both do a fantastic job! I've always gotten the best scalp massages while my hair was shampooed, thurough consultations from Alyssa with realistic advice of what would look best on me, product recommendations for my hair type, and great service by the front desk. Nicole does really beautiful work on my (unruly) eyebrows and it was refreshing to have someone tell me not to pluck them and let them grow out. She shapes them really nicely and is quick. Overall for a high end salon you get a very high end experience worth the price you're paying. Although I'd say the parking can be unpredictable so arrive a little early for wiggle room. read more

I hate to leave a bad review because I go to this place for my haircuts the general staff is super nice and my stylist is the best and I've been going to him for years, but unfortunately he does not do color and so the root issue of my misfortune. Twice I have booked an appointment to get my hair colored with the specific instructions that I wanted to hide my greys. The first time I asked for a simple color and I came out with the exact same shade my hair used to be and the greys were not covered at all. So I paid money to look exactly the same. The second time was worse because I went in asking for full highlights (with the intention they would cover the greys AND look different) but the girl I had booked looked at my hair (it's long) and said I can't do full highlights your hair is too long... so I said ok do half, but she still refused and just punted me to whoever was available. The second girl was nice but also said she could only do half but after she did it somehow I came out exactly looking the same, I could see no highlights and the greys were still there. On top of that, they ended up charging me for full highlights when in reality they only did half. Needles to say, I am tired of going to a place looking for a change and paying hundreds of dollars to come out looking the same. Plus, I thought it was totally disgraceful to refuse to do someone's hair! read more

Favorite Salon in dallas by far. They always do an incredible job. I go to Alyssa for my haircuts and she is so sweet and so chill. She always does an amazing job and listens to what you want. Haircuts are priced the same for men and women, so it's definitely an expensive men's cut but definitely worth it! For my color I go to Ali. She helped me go blonde for the Barbie movie (I was the Ken for the group), and it turned out INCREDIBLE. Just went back for a touch up and again, absolutely amazing. I want to give this salon 5 stars for the wonderful service! I had never done any hair coloring besides partial rose gold highlights last year to try something new. I won a silent auction which included a gift card for any coloring service with Melissa and haircut with Hannah. I first did a haircut, and Hannah did exactly what I asked (not cutting too much off) and did a nice blowout in early December. Thanks Hannah! I returned in late December to try a full balayage with a strawberry blonde coloring rather than going more blonde (more unique request I have discovered). At first, I was not excited about the coloring when it was done, but Melissa let me come back at my next convenience and add more red toner to make it a beautiful shade of light strawberry blonde at no extra charge to be sure I was happy. Thanks Melissa! I have since received many compliments and love how it looks. They were awesome for working with me on my first big hair coloring experience! And they use awesome products as well! Wow! I just tried to book an appointment, and that was a failure, I won't go back or try again. Apparently making appointments around working hours is pain for this salon and not wanting to go get your hair cut at 8 am on a Saturday makes you pain. I recently had my roots touched up at the location in Snider Plaza as I was desperate, and the application was good not great ( I'll be going back to my regular guy - there is a reason he books 6 weeks ahead of time). You could see line from the foil in my front roots and its been 3 weeks and it looks like I am 6 weeks into an application. But I decided to try them again. I guess my skepticism was correct, as there was no reaction to my concern about my last appointment and being very concerned about the quality of the person cutting my hair made me annoying. read more

I didn't grow up Gotti, ok? But I feel like a Gotti- nay, a Kardashian- when I waltz into this lovely, clean, gorgeous salon. Located in Snider Plaza in University Park, they have complimentary valet- which I have yet to use because in keeping up with the Kardashian lifestyle, my driver (erm, mother) drops me off. Gorgeous receptionists with movie star smiles and edgy hair greet me, take me to the changing area which is right next to the dimly lit WC with the superfly sink. You've gotta see it to believe it! Then I sit by the fresh flowers and wait for my colorist to bring me a drink and take me to her booth. The massaging shampoo chairs initiate the luxurious experience, and every moment from then on is classy, clean, and fun. My hair always looks amazing when I leave and Kirsten, my stylist, is one of the coolest people I've ever met. She always makes sure that my hair is never a cliché! And, that my cut will grow out beautifully so I will always be lookin' good in the hood. The cost?? Well, it wont break the bank- maybe a piggy bank, but not THE bank. Prices vary, but for me, cut and color is 130 before tips- so I just go once every 3 months to maintain my movie star style. My 50 year old mother has been going for 7 years and she gets complimented all the time on her classy but hip hair cuts. Osgood-O'neil recently won an award for being the best designed salon in the United States. So, who knows, Kim may be coming here soon! Check it out and you will be looking H-O-T-T HOTT! read more

I am writing an update in response to the salon's response. I do appreciate them wanting to make it right. I never expected to be platinum in one visit. However, I did communicate that I did not want warm tones in my hair and as you can tell from the photos my hair was literally yellow. I just wish my hair had been toned properly. I don't mind paying high salon prices but I do expect quality work for the money. I went to another salon and they toned it to a beautiful, light ash blonde using Redken Shades EQ 09NA and 10VV. I am now letting my hair rest and will continue going to my new stylist. I know you can't go from brown to platinum in one visit, but you shouldn't have to walk around with brassy hair in between those visits, either. read more

I went to be a model last week and it did not work out. I rescheduled but had stomach virus and was Covid positive. I contacted manager by text and called. I notified them earlier this week and now recalled that I had number of hair stylist. She informed me today that management did not inform her that I was sick. I spoke with Snider Plaza manager today and confirmed that they had received my message. I had planned to pay for appointment but will go elsewhere in Preston Hollow. I am not sure if company has to notify employees, but it seems like a nice courtesy. read more

This review is specifically for the Snider location. Cristal is your go-to colorist expert! I have gone to see her three times now this year, and I am beyond satisfied every single time. The first time I went in, my hair was a wreck from a previous colorist. And if you've ever gotten your hair done wrong, you know how much emotional havoc that wreaks. Cristal was able to not only fix the highlights, but made my hair look like it had never gone through that trauma in the first place! In addition to her brilliant skills as a colorist, Cristal is also an awesome and likable person, period. I have been getting my haircut at Osgood's for approximately 2 years now. I don't remember once actually receiving the cut I asked for, but it was a comfortable place to go. I was seeing Vanessa at Snider Plaza, which I prefer late afternoon appointments. The last 3 Saturdays I booked, I would receive a call from the staff telling me Vanessa needed to reschedule. On the 3rd rescheduling I asked if Vanessa was working mid to late Saturday afternoons. I was told NO. Rather them telling me this upfront, they would just call and I would have to accommodate her schedule. Honestly, she gives an okay haircut, but just not one worthy of me changing my schedule to accommodate hers. Then there is today, the icing on the cake. I made an appointment with Julie and Snider Plaza, Julia cuts hair, that is it. My appointment was at 4:00, which I confirmed yesterday, Friday April 30. It is May 1st, which at 3:30, and I am about to leave for my appointment at 4:00 May 1st, yet I receive a call from Jennifer at 3:23. She initially left a message, but apparently needed to speak to me before I can return her call. She cancelled my appointment, apparently Julia, the hair cutter had a 3:00 that need 2 hours for a haircut, so she bumped me. She apologized, but that is it. I have an interview on Monday and found a better salon. The question you have to ask yourself is this salon worth it? They treat their clients with disrespect, no care or concern about my needs. They made a choice and unfortunately my name drew the short straw. Mind you, I realize she was lying, or Julia should not be a hair dresser if it takes 2 hours to cut one person's hair. Needless to say, I will never recommend them nor will I ever back. Like I said they gave an OK haircut, it wasn't great. Just remember if they did it to me, they will do it to you. read more

I don't get my haircut very often and I was recommended to this salon from several people. I just moved here in January and needed a good stylist. When I called the lovers lane number I spoke to a sweet woman who was super helpful. She set me up with an appointment at the Snider Plaza location which wasn't far from the Lovers Lane location. There I met Evan, and he was great. He asked me a lot of questions about how I wore my hair, styled it and what I used, which made me confident in knowing that he would cut and style it how I wanted. I feel great about having Evan is my stylist from now on, I'm very happy with my hair. His price was very acceptable along as the appearance of the salon. read more

Osgood O'Neil, you are a means to the end...but the "end" is so good that I have to dish out 4 stars, despite your shortcomings. I have been here for color twice now, and I have never received more compliments on my dye job than I did in the months after having my highlights done by Jessica. Thank you, lady! This week, I had my color done with Luce, or Luz,maybe Lou? Somebody like that?...in any event, very happy with the results...2 for 2! This salon is very trendy and fairly upscale (as you would expect, based upon the location), and the clientele can be a little obnoxious. The front desk staff are mostly nice, but can be a little vapid at times. Case in point: my last appointment was SUPPOSED to be with Jessica. She called in sick...and, nobody called to share this information with me. I arrived at the salon and they were all, "Oh, sorry, she called in sick...we can get you in with this other person!" Normally, this would be completely unacceptable, however, this was a follicular emergency...I'm getting married next week...I HAD to get this done before leaving town, and this was my last chance. Luckily the "other person", who was very personable, worked out. Very irksome, however. The other big reason I'm withholding the 5th star: this is the only salon I have ever been to where you have to dry your own hair after they finish your color. They literally have "drying stations". Sorry but when you're charging $85 for a partial highlight, I expect a blow out! The was especially problematic for me the first time I came here...I had an event to go to that evening, and I was expecting to leave the salon with professionally coiffed tresses...not my own crappily styled hair. Oh well, now I know. Oh, and one other thing...I was dismayed to read about massaging shampoo chairs in more than one review...because I experienced this on neither visit :( Bummer. Conclusively, I will continue to come here for fabulous hair color...strictly because of the fabulous hair color, and not for any other reason! read more

I have gotten my hair colored here for nearly two years and I'm such a fan of my colorist, Johnnie. He is talented and super accommodating - once he redid my hair twice within a week because I wasn't satisfied with the color. He's great, and his prices are affordable. I'd skip a haircut here - it's way too expensive if you're not chopping bangs or getting layers. For someone like me, who needs a basic trim, go elsewhere. read more

I'm new to Texas and I FINALLY found a salon I can come back to. They've got a comped vallet when you show up. So, you walk in and they bring you to your stylists station. There I finally met Hailey! Let me tell you. I'm crazy about who does my hair. i'm from LA/SF and found awesome stylists pretty easily but when moved to Dallas, it was the biggest challenge. I tried 5 different cut stylists at 4 different salons (all found on yelp) and finallllly found "my girl"-Alexis. She is the best for hair cuts in all of Dallas (in my opinion). For color-I got super super lucky finding Haley. She was the 2nd person I went with and had to look no further. I have dark hair and get highlights and overall color with her. She is awesome!! Pros: convenient scheduling, moderately priced, friendly staff, great hair cut Cons: mediocre color jobs I must admit I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to my hair. After making several 3.5 hour drives from Dallas to my home city of OKC to see my old stylist, I decided it was time to try somebody new. Surely DALLAS of all places would have somebody who could keep my naturally dishwater blonder hair super light. Hair cut: Prior is fabulous at hair cuts/blow outs. She's a little pricy ($65, I think?) but really does a great job. Granted, all I ever ask for is trim which is probably hard to mess up, but still. I love that she didn't get carried away and cut too much off, and the stylign job was perfect! Color: I made an appointment with Rebecca. I loved that it was easy to get in and really didn't mind that I'd have to blow dry my own hair. In fact, I kind of appreciated the idea that, if I were in a hurry, I could leave with wet hair and nobody's feelings would be hurt. Rebecca was really sweet and listened to what I needed. The color turned out fine but I had a couple qualms. 1) She uses heat. Using heat during the color process does nothing but speed things up and dry out your hair!! Not good 2) The color wasn't as close to the roots as I've been accustomed to 3) The color didn't "lift" (the technical term for when color didn't have enough time to process), so it was a little brassy I must say, the price was much better then I what I pay in OKC. But, for me, the extra few bucks is worth it. Looks like I'll be making those 3.5 hour drives to get my hair done after all! read more

Amazing salon! I was visiting my parents in Dallas and my stay was extended. In desperate need of a color and cut, I went to this salon on the recommendation of my mom. I have never been so happy with my hair. I am mid-40s and have been to my fair share of salons and this has been one of the most pleasant experiences EVER. Hayley did the color and being a strawberry blonde / red-head, it is hard to get right. She did the most beautiful color accented with highlights that I have ever had. The following week, I was asked by several people about my 'beautiful color'! Tony cut my hair and he gave me the kind of cut that just keeps getting better. The shape and the layers fall perfectly (not too fixed and not too shaggy). I can part it in the middle or on the side and it still falls beautifully. Excellent! Can't recommend both Hayley and Tony enough. This salon is one of a kind; they treat you graciously and make sure you have an enjoyable experience in total. Quick addition to my previous review: since my beloved hairstylist Jessica has been out for the past few months due to an injury, I've been seeing Hayley. Although I knew I'd miss Jessica, I know that all colorists have to go through the same extensive training before starting at Osgood, so I trust anyone there. Let me start my review by saying that Erica and Haley saved my hair. I have shoulder length hair that I have been growing for what seems like forever, so I decided to get extensions. I made the mistake of getting "Mermaid hair" from Katie Rogers. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. Let me try to sum up the events that led to the amazing women at Osgood having to save my hair. I was blonde, and decided that when I got extensions that I wanted to be Ombre. Well, I was told personally by Katie that she would color match my hair, so I assumed my extensions would be ombred as well. Turns out she put blonde extensions from root to tip, so when the wind blew you could tell that not only was my hair fake, but also that it wasn't ombred and did NOT match. I was told to box color my extenstions at the root first, which I tried to no avail and when I asked for a refund of my money and to have them taken out I was told to let a colorist fix the color on my extensions. I had to have my hair colored four times in 2 weeks, leaving it extremely damaged and GREEN. Not only at this point did I need my color fixed AGAIN, but I didn't have the extensions I wanted. Fast forward to me ending up in Haley's chair. She NAILED my balayage and gave me an Olaplex treatment for the damage. Haley also went so far as to color my extensions for me to match my balayage. Later in the week I went back and Erica gave me a fresh cut to trim some more of the damage and installed my extensions. I can not tell you how thankful and grateful I am that these incredible stylists were not only able to salvage my hair, but to make it look as amazing as I originally hoped for.
