Some serious eats. Food so good it, it might bring a tear. Anorah has been a crutch that my boyfriend and I look forward to every week.

Back again for our 2nd anniversary weekend. Came by last year for the first time ever, on a whim,…read moreand instantly named this our favorite spot in Geneva or anywhere else in the FLX area. And for the 2nd time (well, 4th technically - we came back multiple times over each weekend), we had a terrific experience. The staff are SUPER nice here. This time 'round we had Ellie as our server, who gave us great suggestions on the specials and main menu items - and also Justin when we sat at the bar on another evening (super talented drink mixologist). They're just really great at making you feel welcome, you're taken care of every step of the way. The food comes out quick, you have just enough time to relax and chat between dishes but we've never felt like we had to wait long - despite how packed the place always gets (popular spot, for sure). But yeah aside from the terrific service, the main reason we keep coming back is the quality of the dishes they consistently put out there. This trip we got to try the "Friendship Fries" as a moderately spicy, super flavorful appetizer, and then we split a whole branzino in a delicious horseradish sauce. And because we heard great things about their burgers, we came back just now for another dinner and split one of those too - predictably great, barely any condiments needed really. Juicy, well-cooked and tasty as heck. They have a super extensive wine selection from FLX, France, Italy and all across the U.S., but we tend to order from their cocktail menu - just tried the "Ship of Theseus" today. Unique flavor and delightful to sip on. We kinda wanna find another spot in Geneva just so we don't get overly attached, and end up spending most dinners here from now on, whenever we're in town. But so far nothing else has really come close.

5 stars for the service, 3 stars for the food…read more We visited for dinner on a Sunday evening and, thanks to our reservation, were seated right away despite the restaurant being quite busy. The service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, polite, and attentive throughout the meal, making the experience enjoyable. The food was good, though it wasn't particularly memorable or outstanding. We both love poutine. The fries was good but the gravy was a bit too salty and it definitely need more cheese curds. Overall, it's a great spot for dinner with friends or family, especially if you're in the area and looking for a pleasant dining experience.

The staff are excellent, we had a server who was super charming and checked in on us all evening. Easy process to book a table, helpful people all around. 2.The place itself is snazzy and upscale, but not excessively so; we enjoyed dressing up a bit for a nice dinner there, but didn't feel like the vibe was overly stuffy or anything. 3. The appetizer we split (mussels in a slightly spicy broth with focaccia on the side) was excellent. Easily the highlight of our meal, would order it again in a heartbeat. The downside, unfortunately, is that the main part of our meal was nothing to write home about. I'd found this spot online and booked a table for two specifically to really "wow" my wife and enjoy an excellent meal together, and was really looking forward to some good food after reading all the stellar reviews here on Yelp. It certainly has high-end prices for the FLX (spent over $250 for dinner for two, without a dessert or more than a glass of wine each), which in general I'm happy to pay - if the quality is there, that is. But our entrees were just unimpressive, and actually slow to arrive. Took them a solid 40-45 minutes to bring out our mains afterwe finished the appetizers, but worse was the fact that both dishes (rack of lamb for myself, and short rib gnocchi for her) were simply bland. Best part of my dish were the mashed potatoes honestly - the lamb itself was unseasoned, and the sauce was watery. My wife's gnocchi weren't terrible, but the sauce had an odd, almost burnt aftertaste that neither of us cared for. For a regular restaurant, with more regular prices and reviews, we wouldn't have minded honestly - but because this place is kinda marketed as one of the better restaurants in Geneva, and priced as such, having a bit of a mediocre meal left us fairly disappointed. Again, great service and fun spot just to be in, and _some_ of the items like the appetizers are pretty tasty (I'd happily come back for another taste of their mussels and focaccia). But we likely won't be coming back anytime soon, particularly as we live out of town. Hope it was just a fluke and that they bounce back.

We had the pleasure…read moreof having dinner at FLX Table and opted for the pre-dinner wine tasting at FLX Provisions too. It is a communal table so we enjoyed making conversation and getting to know the couples at our end of the table. The reservation process asks for food allergies and dietary restrictions so I believe that was factored into the menu. You are so offered per course drink pairings of wine, beer, or N/A drinks so we did one of the wine pairings with dinner. We started with their Farmers Board which included crudite, 4 dips, 3 butters, and a loaf of focaccia. I was already convinced this was going to be a fantastic meal! The second course was a tuna belly crisp in a Thai coconut lime sauce with tiny teardrop peppers. It was absolutely decadent! They offered anyone who was interested a caviar bump paired with a shot of horseradish vodka so we had to say "yes, please!" The next course was probably the most memorable and interesting. It was a corn course since we have so many local growers of corn in the Finger Lakes region. It was simply cut pieces of cooked corn on the cob served along side a "corn flavor wheel" that included 12 different flavor profiles to add to the corn with each bite. The simplest was butter and salt which who could complain about something as delicious as that, right? But there was miso, and gochujang, an elote flavor, hoisin peanut, and tom yum curry to name a few. Next course was duck breast served over a saffron sauce with black olive bits. It was lovely! Dessert was a raspberry clafoutis with plum sorbet that was yummy. We were escorted next door to FLX Provisions for the option of after dinner coffee, tea, wine, etc... There was a lavender gel type candy bite for everyone (I'd describe it as a gummy but then you'd get the wrong idea). We leisurely chatted with the couples we met at dinner and we were even able to purchase a loaf of focaccia to take home. All in all this was a wonderful experience and I hope to be able to do it again...maybe a yearly thin

Coming in on a Tuesday night, the place was busy and the wait was about 30 minutes -- but there was free seating at the bar. Fair enough, not many restaurants were even open in Geneva on a Tuesday. The food was solid -- nothing extraordinary, but nothing to complain about either, and the presentation on those big plates is genuinely fun. The lady bartender had her hands full preparing drinks while also serving everyone seated at the bar, including food orders. It was sometimes hard to catch her attention, but overall she did a great job juggling it all. What really bothered me: the owner (CB) is one of the few Master Sommeliers in the world and a big promoter of the FLX wine region (which I love), so can anyone explain why a glass of FLX wine costs about 40% more than a glass of California or even Australian wine? That's not exactly "Think NY, Drink NY" -- despite those charming stickers around the restaurant (which I do love).

And Stonecutter's Tavern is a neat fixture in an already-fun, gorgeous spot. Once you've visited the Winery, toured the lawns in front of the castle, and maybe stopped by Edgar's (the last of which I'm kinda ambivalent about, truth be told - nice staff there but the food's nothing spectacular), I highly recommend stopping here at Stonecutter's for a good, simple meal. They have a bar area that you can order their signature Wine & Ciders at (along with just about any other drink you can think of), and you're allowed to take those drinks right outside to the Fire Pit they turn on during the evenings (you can even see the stars as you lounge outside, really amazing little spot). Beyond that though, it's a regular, casual dining spot. My wife and I have tried several menu items over the last couple of years, and our recent meal of Chili + Fries next to a very tasty grilled corned beef sandwich with sauerkraut & melted Swiss cheese was perfect for a no-fuss lunch together. Staff are super accommodating and polite, day or night. We actually showed up just after closing on Sunday night, but they still fixed us up with a couple of drinks so we could go outside and sip by the fireplace. Definitely recommend a pitstop here for anyone touring the Seneca Lake wineries or anything along those lines.
