The food is not bad and the service was even ok but We have a family member that only drinks Pelligrino sparkling water. We were told even though the restaurant doesn't sell sparkling water we couldn't bring our own bottle and consume it in the restaurant! We could understand this policy for alcohol we couldn't understand not allowing sparkling water! We had to drink the water outside in the hotel lobby! This was sooo ridiculous! We had to leave the table to get a sip of sparkling water as we were eating dinner!! This happened 10 times as the manager watched! This policy is unbelievable that we will no longer eat at this restaurant! We do not recommend this kind of disregard for a preference that would not impact anyone. We would have even paid a "corking fee" to be able to have this preference! No other restaurant in the finger lakes refused this accommodation! This is so ridiculous to complain about that I frankly am embarrassed to even complain about it! We frequent coming to the finger lakes but will no longer return to this restaurant! This is a very good restaurant with very good food. I went here on 4th of July and it was not to busy and I soon as I sat down I saw the seasonal drinks that they have for 4th of July which is so cool. Also they have many options of food to like seafood, steaks, pastas, pizzas, and even burgers. Also the whole place is covered with keuka decor which was so cool. Service was good. Food was great. If you like bacon get the loaded baked potato. I couldn't even see the potato thru all the bacon. The chocotini for desert was the perfect ending to the meal. My only recommendation would be more cheese on the soup. The broth was delicious but there wasn't enough cheese to go with it. read more

I stopped in for a quick dinner based on the number of positive reviews. While nothing was really bad, it was nothing show stopping either. Pretty much no good selection of beer. The most eclectic beer on the menu was Southern Tier IPA. Yikes. Everything else was your basic miller coors bud crap. I got the Yeungling because it was the least watered down option that wasn't an IPA. I got the Keuke burger and sweet potato fries with sides of BBQ sauce for dipping. The burger was okay but the bun was a little stale and the BBQ sauce was just packets of Bullseye BBQ sauce that you can get in a food court. I hate when restaurants do this. It looks lazy and tacky. A group of five made reservations for a Saturday night dinner but that didn't seem necessary in the off season (end of October) since there were several available tables. We were greeted and seated quickly which was appreciated. Dawn was our waitress and could not have been more accommodating and attentive. We really were treated very well all evening. They have a super nice selection of beers on tap and we tried a few seasonal ones, including this super yummy Genesee orange and cranberry beer and a few pumpkin ales. I tried the ribeye steak for dinner that came with a perfectly baked potato and a salad. It was really perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was a super generous serving with pockets of that fat that make it so juicy and flavorful. Everyone at our table really enjoyed their meals including the lobster bisque, Cajun and Key West haddock dishes. We really enjoyed our evening and would try it again if in the area. read more

Disappointed. Fish sandwich: fish might have been 1/8 inch thick at most - almost couldn't find it in the equally thin deep dark fried coating. The bun was super cold and hard (would it be so hard to warm it up or toast it? It wasn't even remotely busy). At least the lettuce and tomato slice were fresh. Other food: they say vegan options but nothing you'd consider healthy. Other entrees: so-so. At least the food was edible and filling. Service: friendly Ambience: casual. On our first night staying in Penn Yan on a trip to see the Finger Lakes, my wife and I decided to have dinner at the Keuka Restaurant. It was a Sunday, and the town seemed somewhat quiet, so we didn't bother to make a reservation. When we arrived, we saw that we were two of probably ten customers in the restaurant. We were later told that it stays packed between Memorial Day and Labor Day. We were quickly seated, and we were quickly forgotten about. A group of four servers, who all looked like teenagers, huddled at the back of the restaurant around a cash register, talking and laughing. We sat looking at the menu, looking at it again, looking at it yet again... I stood up two or three times and looked back at them, making a face it indicate that we would like to be tended to. Finally, the girl who had seated us walked by, saw that we didn't even have water yet, and asked the group of servers who was in charge of our table. One of the girls came along and apologized, saying that she thought one of the others had the table (which I didn't understand since all of the servers were huddled together in the back). My wife ordered a chicken Caesar salad, and I ordered fried fish and onion rings. The salad was not a typical Caesar with chicken -- it had all kinds of vegetables, as well as egg. So either the Caesar salad in Penn Yan is different anywhere else we have ever had one, or someone made a mistake. My fish was tasted good, though the batter was fried hard as a rock. When I tried to cut it, the batter crumbled. We decided not to have dessert. Would I go back to the Keuka Restaurant? I doubt it. It was a disappointment on our first evening in the Finger Lakes, and first impressions tend to stick. read more

This was recommended by the registration clerk at the hotel where we stayed. As the in-house bar/restaurant has an early kitchen closure, we checked in & checked it out. Not busy on a Sunday nite, but we were fairly late diners as well. Seated in an old school wood booth with high backs to afford nice privacy. Our server was pleasant and efficient. The lobster bisque was a nice, though not exceptional, appetizer. Where it under performed, the Linguine Mediterranean was chock full of seafood and was outstanding. Beer list is adequate representing a wide range of brews including a smattering of locals. Where that excelled, the wine list was disappointing - especially here in the heart of great Riesling wine country. Daily specials enticed us to return for a second meal where I found the Cajun Broiled Haddock to be a great rendition of a fish fry - glad I didn't have to wait til Friday. read more

The waitress was very attentive and never left us waiting. The drinks were very good - I had one of the special watermelon drinks. We both ordered chicken sandwiches and they were excellent. Stopped by as tourists trying to find good food- found it! The fish fry was delicious with the local and unique coleslaw. We actually ordered the fish sandwich without the bread- so good. Skip the bread. 4 stars for food and fast service. Friendlier service and better prices would have earned the fifth star. We were charged $3.50 for club soda that everyone else serves for free. Two sandwiches without bread were $27.98 Or maybe we were charged as tourists? Won't return. Just removed another star when we got the bill. They charge an additional 4% for using a card. We shared a Keuka cheeseburger. There were several choices for the sides, including regular French fries and sweet potato fries. We picked the sweet potato fries; it was a very generous serving. The burger was nice and hot and cooked to medium, as requested. There was a nice sized piece of lettuce, some onion and a slice of tomato big enough to cover the burger! That is often not the case; the tomato slice often barely covers 1/2 of a burger. Nice! It is a small restaurant/bar. Three tables were set up outside, but it was a bit too chilly(55 degrees) to enjoy outside dining. It comes with the regular toppings lettuce, tomato and onion (in nice big rings!) and cheese (plenty of choices there). As a side you have choices too: french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, cottage cheese, applesauce, Coleslaw or the cold salad of the day. We decided on the sweet potato fries. They came nice, crispy and in a very generous serving. The burger itself was very good. We ordered medium and that's exactly what it was. The restaurant is not that big and because of covid seating inside was limited. There were some tables outside set up, but the temps were not inviting for outdoor dining. Because of that, we were seated at the bar, where bar stools were set up in groups of 2 with plenty of distance between the groups. We were able to get in without a reservation on a Saturday night--Prime Rib Night! The prime rib was delicious, done just right, and it was a great deal. Ambiance is classy family restaurant. Fun tabletops. The gal serving us was apparently distracted or she wasn't trained well. She was curt, no conversation or mention of specials, and she didn't seem to want to be there. (What teenager wants to be working on a Saturday night in the summer?) Otherwise, the drinks were cold, the food was warm, and our orders were correct. We started at a different place but were basically ignored so came here. Our experience was very different than expected. First, looks just like a neighborhood family restaurant. I was expecting a soup/salad/Sr. Special type of place but that was not the case. They have a nice selection of local wines (not huge but tasty wines), classic apps, and some surprisingly tasty salad & entrees. We had the ravioli and it was packed with flavor. I hope that it is the fact that we came in relatively later that our experience wasn't the best but being from Pennsylvania I can't say that if I am in the area again that I will stop and give this establishment a second try. I will preface this review by saying the server/service was very good. She was a younger girl who was attentive to our table and did her job well. My girlfriend and I felt well taken care of. She is what made me give this place two stars. Sadly it is just that the food was downright bad. Some unpalatable. All the cheese in the quesadilla and the nachos was not melted at all. Mostly cold in both cases. The topping on the nachos had an odd almost musty taste to them. The quesadilla's salsa and sour cream did not help the bland tastelessness. The onion rings were fine but I am not sure what you can do to mess them up (I hope I never find out). I know for a fact we left without eating most of what we got. read more

I stopped at Keuka Restaurant for dinner on a Friday night. This is located on the Main Street in Penn Yan, so be prepared for parallel parking. I didn't have any issues finding a spot though! I chose one of their specials as recommended by our waitress. It was haddock stuffed with shrimp and crab, it came with a side and a salad. The salad was your typical run of the mill side salad. I ordered fries as my side (which turned out to be the best part of my meal). The entree was a haddock filet that was wrapped around a large pile of breadcrumbs with little to no shrimp or crab in it. It was a very soft, mushy like consistency with no flavor. It was a bit misleading, I did not expect the fish to wrapped around what was supposed to be a giant crab cake. Which would have been fine had the crab cake had any shrimp or crab in it. However the fries were good so that is what I ate the most of for dinner. The service was nice and fast, but I don't think I'd return here. read more

Bring a jacket and wear closed shoes; this place is cold. There are lots of college-aged girls in the top deck but only one was actively waitressing. They wear jeans shorts and Keuka shirts. The bar is quite large and flanked with stools. There are tables and booths for dining. The hostess led us to sit in a dark back corner, but I asked for a brighter and warmer spot. Plus, groups of people were walking past from the ramp that led to the kitchen. I guess there is a back entry there too. I liked the rice bowl, with 2 spicy sauces on the side. But there were a few hard bits of rice in it. The nacho plate was huge and spicy, with thick chips not particularly good. I got the key lime "pie" which was the size of a cookie. The decaf coffee was meh. The place is clean, cost average. The barkeep was attentive. The waitress was good when she came to our table. It was not busy. Oh yeah, unless you pay in cash, there is a 4% fee added to your bill. read more
