Wolffy's was OUTSTANDING!! The server was incredibly friendly and answered all our menu questions, and the food was out quickly & nice and hot! We had the fish fry and their dinner special (chicken pesto rigatoni with roasted red peppers) and we HAD to try some wings with Wolffy's wing sauce. Everything was delicious - huge portions! Lovely lakefront location with friendly staff but unfortunately our food wasn't so good. The nachos special was lacking, like guacamole and some beans would have been nice. Cheese wasn't really melted. The burger was good as was the French onion soup. Fish entree was not well prepared, no sure if it was Haddock as listed because it didn't taste anything like it. Thin fillet came out dusted in Cajun seasoning instead of white wine lemon as advertised. Pasta had fresh ingredients but unfortunately lacked flavor and sat in a pool of oil. Maybe other menu offerings are a better choice. But again the staff and view were great! read more

A friend and I were doing a day trip around Seneca Falls and Geneva. The reviews sounded pretty good and it was a beautiful day and we knew there was outdoor seating. It was a little busy when we arrived but everyone was sitting outside. We were seated quickly and given menus. It took a while for our server to come over , but we were okay looking over the menu and taking pictures of Cayuga Lake. I ordered a cup of Manhattan Clam Chowder, we ordered the Bang bang Shrimp Appetizer and we both ordered cheeseburgers with a side of the veggie of the day. The sandwiches all come with house made chips. They have several additional sides listed to substitute but the prices seemed a bit high. The vegetable price was reasonable compared to the other sides. The Manhattan Clam Chowder just didn't taste right...it had a very salty spicy taste and I couldn't eat it at all. I told our server and there was no problem and she immediately said she was sorry and would take it right off the check. Our shrimp appetizer was very good and I loved that it was served over fresh lettuce...the crunch was perfect with the spicy shrimp. My cheeseburger was cooked pretty well and I really enjoyed the zucchini and yellow squash. Our server was very nice and the outdoor seats had a covering over the entire deck. Went for a ride to Seneca Falls and decided to go a little further to try this for lunch. It's a beautiful place overlooking the water and shaded which was perfect for this hot Friday afternoon. The menu was small but decided to share the bang bang shrimp and order a cheeseburger. Our waitress (Alicia) was great and very personable. The shrimp was tasty but not what I was expecting (was not fried and crispy) it was small shrimp steamed with a sauce served on a bed of lettuce. Came to Wolffy's because it was highly recommended and also the only nearby eatery on the lake. Walking in, it's a simple restaurant with a crapton of wood paneling. Lots of locals. Ended up sitting outside under the tent even though the weather was windy. Service was very friendly and efficient. Did not get a drink as we had all drank plenty earlier in the day. Got loaded potato skins (special) and a patty melt. The skins were fine, as was the patty melt. It was far from the best I've had, however it was edible. Wish the meat hadn't been overcooked, and that the cheese had flavor. Ended up not finishing it although I did wish I took home the leftovers. Was kind of surprised with the bill when we got it though, as the place really isn't cheap ($100+ for 3 people). Perfectly fine locals place, however nothing remarkable otherwise. Set your expectations accordingly. Bar looked pretty good to be fair, so that may be a better bet. read more

The coolest casual vibe, a great menus, great service and the best view around! The bang bang chicken sandwich is incredible!! Because it's so amazing, and they don't overeat (so that you get great service) I suggest getting there a little early because there can be long weights - but completely worth the wait! The primary appeal of this place is that it's on the water. You can pull up your boat to their dock and come in and have drinks and a meal. That being said, I came in a reasonably large group and we all had a great experience. The wait staff was attentive, polite, and really accomodating even though we had a group on the larger side. As for the food it was all of pretty good quality. The creamy spicy shrimp were SO delicious and everyone at the table enjoyed them. The mozzarella sticks were good, but that would be pretty hard to mess up. I found the onion rings to be pretty much average quality, definitely don't approach the best ones I've had. For my entree I got the pepper provolone sandwich which is a chicken sandwich with peppers and provolone and guacamole on top. I found the guacamole to be of pretty poor quality and overall just a weird choice for this sandwich. That being said it tasted pretty good and the house-made chips on the side were delicious. Not as good as I remember. Still it is nice to sit bye the water on a nice day. The server was very present but I felt a bit rushed.they did offer to come back but now I felt i had too hurry and order drink and appetizer. Coconut shrimp was hot and delish. We ended up having 2 orders. I ordered crab cakes. That was it for me tonight. Hubby ordered ribss and fries. It came with a salad that look fresh and lots of mixed greens, Red onion, croutons, tomato. His fries were nice and hot, fresh fries, I teied his ribs. Tasty but not very hot. I could not get past the first bite of crab cake. They had no sauce just a slice of lemon. When I asked she did bring me a sauce that was mano based. But I could not eat it. It dis not taste any different then tarter sauce. The texture was way soft. Mushy. Fell apart really fast. I just think they were too wet. Looked really brown and on the way home the over was a little smelly. The service was coming from all directions. Not a great feeling.we were taking to server and people came to the table asking who order the food. I do not like that. Felt very rushed. I want one of the blue drinks they have but ended up with a martini, I think. Just tasted like fruit juice but it was good. Did not taste the booze. It was no Bay Streets! Being I am disappointed in my visit today I had to do a new review and drop a couple of stars. Still if you like burgers ribs chicken or salad you may still want to take the drive. We've been to Wolffy's twice for lunch and have enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere both times. the first time was during August when we sat on the covered deck by the water and the second was in October when we sat inside. This was genuinely terrible. We sat at the bar and the bartender and an obvious regular spent the entire time we were there mocking customers and other staff. The drinks were syrupy, whatever mix they were using tasted like it had been sitting around a long time and they took a very long time to arrive. The food was ok. I had a burger, but there are a half dozen other places to get a better one within the same distance for me. The burger was overdone and tough and lukewarm, the fish had skin that was hard to cut, the breading was gross. On both plates the sides were mediocre. Even if had been a great meal, which it was not, having to listen to the bartender and her buddy mock people was very, very off putting. There is a nice deck. If the food had been even remotely ok I'd go back for that but it really wasn't. We didn't get food poisoning and we never have to go there again, so thumbs up that. read more

The sausage pepper and onion soup special is delicious! Yum Yum and more Yum. The soup Yep it was good we had to order a second bowl. The seating outside is very comfortable, with good weatherproof furniture. Each table has an umbrella. We went on a Saturday night and the music on the lower deck was gentle, and not too invasive and the singer was very talented. The chicken marsala, it's definitely something you might wanna order as it was tender, juicy, and tasty. We ordered ours over than Linguine because that is the way that we prefer. The vodka chicken special was fine the chicken was a little overdone but a tasty dish and I was thankful. The service was excellent. As far as value for the money, this was our most successful meal of our trip. Very affordable. read more

Went to this place on a whim after findings it on bring Fido while in the area. There is a restaurant with a large outside deck and below the restaurant there is an area called the boat bar. Dogs are not allowed in the upstairs restaurant or outside deck but they are allowed in the boat bar and the 6 tables down there. We had our dog with us so we ate at the boat bar. It was very busy for a Sunday, there was 4 Picnic tables and 2 high top tables the rest of the space was bar and standing room. There was a band on a small stage. The table assignments are very confusing and hard to get seating in the bar; seems like no rhyme or reason to it. We asked for a table and we're told we would be next but after some time, people just kept sitting at the tables when they would open so the bar tender offered to serve us at the bar. We ended up eating at the bar. I got the garlic shrimp scampi and it was very good (best I have ever had), loads of shrimp! My husband got a burger and he said it was just an average burger. The boat bar serves beer, wine, wine slushes but you can get mixed drinks and others in the restaurant bar and then come back down. I hope to go back in the future and eat in the restaurant. Stopped by Wolffy's on a Friday evening and was able to be seated right away on the back patio outside even though it was pretty busy. The views at this restaurant are undeniably amazing-- we came on a moon-lit evening and live music was playing so the overall atmosphere is fantastic, especially outside. The food however was very mediocre. The bang bang cauliflower was pretty good and was a generous portion, would certainly order again. The pasta dish we ordered however was less than enjoyable. It was basically linguine with olive oil topped with a thick layer of pretty bitter and chewy sautéed spinach and sun dried tomatoes that were also pretty tough to chew as well as black olives. There was some garlic in there but otherwise flavor was lacking. The garlic bread was also nothing special. I'm sure other things on the menu are better so maybe this just isn't the best place to order vegetarian dishes but overall was disappointed with the pasta dish. After a very long day my friends and I decided to have some food and drinks at this establishment. Upon arriving a few of our other friends had already received a table but unfortunately there wasn't enough seats for the remainder of the group. We asked if we could be put together but the waiter insisted that it was the hostess decision. At this point we were too hungry and decided to cut our losses and just sit in our own table. One of our friends had previously lost her Wallet and asked if a picture ID would be okay the waiter said no. My friend asked if the waiter would be able to ask the manager and the waiter continued to say no without even attempting to ask the manager. The rest of the group proceeded to order our drinks and food. Everyone at the table ordered both a drink and a meal. The entire time the waiter was not friendly nor did she seem happy to speak to us. Once we finished our dish, 3 of us ordered another drink but upon that drinks arrival, the manager came to our table with an attitude and stated that the line for the establishment is very long with a 40 min wait and that we should be leaving promptly. Our second drink had just arrived so all of us were confused and to be honest taken back. We politely told the manager that we had just gotten our drinks but that we would finish them right away. We proceed to ask for the bill. Once the manager and waiter had left, the table next to us apologized for their behavior and even stated that they have never heard anything like that before. They even said we should order more drinks and stay longer but of course we didn't. Why stay somewhere you don't even feel welcomed or comfortable in. So everyone who ordered the 2nd drink chugged it so that we could leave right away. After chugging our drinks, we waited about another 15-20 mins for our cards to come back. If this establishment was at such a rush to get us out, why were our cards held for another 15-20 mins. Why did we even chug our drinks?... I am completely embarrassed and honestly sadden that i had to experience something like this to the point where another table had to even state that they felt bad for us.... We even saw about 10 tables inside empty and another 2 tables outside empty as well. Throughout all of my years of being a patron at many establishments i have never had such a terrible experience. Upon leaving we told the hostess and another waiter (which was not the one we had) about our experiences. Those two woman knew how to speak to paying costumers and were the ones who treated us with dignity. Unfortunately i will not be spending another dime in this place even if the view is nice. I do not recommend it due to its poor hospitality and professionalism. read more
