A friend and I were doing a day trip around Seneca Falls and Geneva. The reviews sounded pretty good and it was a beautiful day and we knew there was outdoor seating. It was a little busy when we arrived but everyone was sitting outside. We were seated quickly and given menus. It took a while for our server to come over , but we were okay looking over the menu and taking pictures of Cayuga Lake. I ordered a cup of Manhattan Clam Chowder, we ordered the Bang bang Shrimp Appetizer and we both ordered cheeseburgers with a side of the veggie of the day. The sandwiches all come with house made chips. They have several additional sides listed to substitute but the prices seemed a bit high. The vegetable price was reasonable compared to the other sides. The Manhattan Clam Chowder just didn't taste right...it had a very salty spicy taste and I couldn't eat it at all. I told our server and there was no problem and she immediately said she was sorry and would take it right off the check. Our shrimp appetizer was very good and I loved that it was served over fresh lettuce...the crunch was perfect with the spicy shrimp. My cheeseburger was cooked pretty well and I really enjoyed the zucchini and yellow squash. Our server was very nice and the outdoor seats had a covering over the entire deck. I felt the prices were a bit high but I would come back and try other items and enjoy the lake view.

Went for a ride to Seneca Falls and decided to go a little further to try this for lunch. It's a beautiful place overlooking the water and shaded which was perfect for this hot Friday afternoon. The menu was small but decided to share the bang bang shrimp and order a cheeseburger. Our waitress (Alicia) was great and very personable. The shrimp was tasty but not what I was expecting (was not fried and crispy) it was small shrimp steamed with a sauce served on a bed of lettuce. The cheeseburger was cooked medium rare like I asked and was juicy. I really enjoyed the view from our table looking over the water.

The deck with its spectacular view!

The service was absolutely enjoyable! Alicia was great, one of the best! The food was delicious and well prepared! The view was Epic! Absolutely on our going there again list!

A great summer place on Cayuga lake that's actually open year round. Amazing soups and specials. They really know how to cook a steak. The flatbread pizzas are good as well. Have no friends ? Going alone, eat at the bar and order a local wine. Next thing you know you are a regular.

The primary appeal of this place is that it's on the water. You can pull up your boat to their dock and come in and have drinks and a meal. That being said, I came in a reasonably large group and we all had a great experience. The wait staff was attentive, polite, and really accomodating even though we had a group on the larger side. As for the food it was all of pretty good quality. The creamy spicy shrimp were SO delicious and everyone at the table enjoyed them. The mozzarella sticks were good, but that would be pretty hard to mess up. I found the onion rings to be pretty much average quality, definitely don't approach the best ones I've had. For my entree I got the pepper provolone sandwich which is a chicken sandwich with peppers and provolone and guacamole on top. I found the guacamole to be of pretty poor quality and overall just a weird choice for this sandwich. That being said it tasted pretty good and the house-made chips on the side were delicious. My mom got the chicken marsala which she really enjoyed. The restaurant has great options for all members of the family and the location can't be beat!

Not as good as I remember. Still it is nice to sit bye the water on a nice day. The server was very present but I felt a bit rushed.they did offer to come back but now I felt i had too hurry and order drink and appetizer. Coconut shrimp was hot and delish. We ended up having 2 orders. I ordered crab cakes. That was it for me tonight. Hubby ordered ribss and fries. It came with a salad that look fresh and lots of mixed greens, Red onion, croutons, tomato. His fries were nice and hot, fresh fries, I teied his ribs. Tasty but not very hot. I could not get past the first bite of crab cake. They had no sauce just a slice of lemon. When I asked she did bring me a sauce that was mano based. But I could not eat it. It dis not taste any different then tarter sauce. The texture was way soft. Mushy. Fell apart really fast. I just think they were too wet. Looked really brown and on the way home the over was a little smelly. The service was coming from all directions. Not a great feeling.we were taking to server and people came to the table asking who order the food. I do not like that. Felt very rushed. I want one of the blue drinks they have but ended up with a martini, I think. Just tasted like fruit juice but it was good. Did not taste the booze. It was no Bay Streets! Being I am disappointed in my visit today I had to do a new review and drop a couple of stars. Still if you like burgers ribs chicken or salad you may still want to take the drive. Nice to just sit for the view! Boats drive up to the dock in the summer! Bonapite!

My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!
