We always have a good experience with Another Broken Egg Cafe anytime I've been. Food is good and they have a lot of variety. The downside is they do not offer a lot of dairy-free AND gluten-free options. I am limited to just a few things I can safely eat. The service was wonderful. My food was good. I did have to ask for my grits to be warmed up. And they didn't have the beignets that I ordered and that wasn't told to me until my food came. So I subbed white toast and it was OK. The rest of my party also said that their food was not hot. There were a few complaints in my party about the bacon being flimsy, and then when it was sent back for it to be made crisper, it was burnt. My mother-in-law had to ask a few times for her side of pancakes. The chicken for the chicken and waffles that my brother got & my daughter, got a side of chicken tenders, were under-cooked for their liking. But the server, I believe her name was Tammy, was great! She was friendly and attentive. They also set us on the patio in hard unforgiving metal chairs. Most of my party is quite fluffy, and those chairs were not made for our body types. The hostess said there was nowhere else she could sit as when we addressed the issue. Therefore we made do. However, I don't think those chairs are good for anyone. They're just not comfortable chairs. They have very good coffee and flavored creamers! I gave four stars because my entire experience was pretty good, except for the lack of beignets. This is a usually brunch spot for our ladies group that meets once a month. We appreciate the ability to linger and enjoy our meals while catching up. The menu does change seasonally and offers new dishes for those wanting a change. I prefer my omelet and know that I will never be able to finish as their portions are large. The only reason this review is two stars instead of one star is because our server, Michelle, was great. You'd think a place that has "egg" in the name would know how to prepare eggs. I was very disappointed to find that was not the case. This is my second time eating here. The first time, I didn't order eggs. Everything was great, minus having to be seated in the blazing hot early afternoon sun because there were no tables inside. That was the case again upon this second visit. Coincidence? I wonder...But my complaint lies with the eggs. I ordered the seasonal hash. Two eggs "anyway you want" served on top. I wanted medium eggs. I do NOT want runny yolks. I expressly said this twice to the server. I get runny yolks. I send it back and again, I specify, I want the eggs like jelly and not runny. I again get runny yolks. WTH? How am I not making this clear? I speak with a manager and someone from the kitchen. I literally show them a picture on my phone. I have NEVER struggled to order eggs before. I wait for a third time, and again I'm served runny egg yolks. Seriously? Is that the only way they know how to cook eggs? My spouse, he loves his eggs that way. But he knows I don't. He's hardly a chef, but even on a sleepy Sunday morning he can cook eggs so the yolks don't run. Why was this so difficult? Even with a picture, they couldn't get it right. I left very hungry and very upset. Yes, they didn't charge me, but I won't be returning. If I can't get anyone to understand the difference between a runny yolk and a jelly-like yolk that doesn't run, it's not worth my time, money, or the hassle. I had a very simple order, of a kid's little rooster, and half order of beignets. I did not receive my beignets at all. the little rooster is extremely disappointing. they threw a bunch of butter in there, which is great, but I would think that they would include some jelly for the muffin. there's no option to request that when ordering, and they have special requests off. I'm also not sure that I actually got chicken sausage. I do not eat red meat or pork, and if this is chicken sausage, it definitely has a beef or pork casing. this should be disclosed on the menu for people with dietary restrictions. Another broken Egg cafe smashed the breakfast competition in Dayton, seriously. I enjoyed it more than First Watch, I enjoyed it more than Bob Evans, or IHop or Waffle House, it was delicious and honestly I was surprised with how robust the menu was, these weren't your normal breakfast items. I really like the uniqueness of the breakfast items and for that Beoken Egg is a winner. You know it wasn't the normal, breakfast special, pancakes, omelettes or waffles, with eggs and bacon or hash browns on the side. You can get all that, but their toppings their combinations of food I liked and left me wanting more, because it's not your typical run of the mill breakfast place, it's kinda like First Watch on steroids. I really wanted the cinnamon roll it sounded incredible, but that calorie count kept talking to me out of it, so I went with the 'Hey Lucy! Omelette', that had half the calories as the cinnamon roll. I do need to get the cinnamon roll some day, binge eating on my birthday maybe? The food came in a short amount of time and the service was great, they even helped us with menu items since it was our first time. And man'o'man was the food delicious. The avocado and cheese was a delightful mouth watering combo and that chorizo was ooo so good. I'd take their chorizo over Chipotle's anytime. The oddest part about our breakfast was we couldn't find the front door or the hostess stand. We had a great meal, but we couldn't get started. I had the traditional breakfast with a ton of scrambled eggs great bacon, wonderful potatoes, and a good biscuit. My husband had the same breakfast but with the sausage, and he loved that. We are advised that the Sunday hordes are a bit "scary," and the Saturday crowds often require a wait. As a result our visits are all weekday visits. In addition to the gourmet meals, there are healthy meals, and of course the "Plain Jane" breakfasts and burgers that can be had everywhere. It's been several months since we've dined here. The food quality and cleanliness has severely gone way down! Very disappointed. We dined on a week day mid morning and the place was empty. We were seated in front by the window at a dirty table with syrup and butter smeared over it. Hostess set menus and silverware down anyway. The blinds were closed because they were broken in the down position. Condiment bottles were filthy with dried crusty sauce dried on them. Window ledges, decor etc were covered w a thick layer of dirt dust.Went to restroom and had to walk over rolled up carpets leaning against hall wall and many dirty dust pans and brooms piled up. The back of the handicap stall had something smeared all over the door and the tiles had mold growing in the grout. Really made me not want to eat there. Our food came surprisingly quickly, but was Luke warm. My hey Lucy omelette had cold shredded cheese thrown on top - not melted, and the salsa and sour cream were missing. My Grits were a hard cold blob. Very disappointing. My coffee cup was cracked and leaking all over. My friend had shrimp & grits which looked great but didn't have much flavor and again were Luke warm. I normally don't write bad reviews but this was pathetic. I won't be back. read more

Their seasonal smore waffles were okay, just regular waffles topped with marshmallow fluff and chocolate syrup. I think next time i visit, I'll get the cinnamon French toast again (my favorite). The omelet (forgot the name) tasted really good. Our waitress was very nice and brought our food out quickly compared to previous visits (most likely because we were some of the first people there). The only critique I have are their blue chairs in their patio area. One of our chairs had crumbs all over it. But the waitress cleaned it as soon as we informed her. Visiting the Miamisburg area for a wedding and found this restaurant in the same area as our hotel. I was VERY pleased to see the Yelp waitlist option especially since we waited 90mins for a table mostly from the comfort of our hotel room. My husband ordered the rum cake French toast which was one of the seasonal specialties. He enjoyed the dish very much! Though there was very little rum flavor (if any at all) he said it was still tasty and delicious! I order the Big Easy scramble and swapped jack cheese for goat cheese. What a great decision that was! There was lots of crawfish tails and andouille sausage mixed in. The country potatoes were a bit soggy and not the best, but everything else mixed up still made the dish quite pleasing. A decent place for breakfast with lot of options. The staff were nice and polite but the service was way slow on a Sunday morning. I know that's a busy time but I was a tad bit disappointed. Coming to the food: I had the Lobster Omelette (4/5). My wife got the Lemon custard French toast (4.5/5). The city grits were good. The coffee was decent but not the hot chocolate though. The customer service was absolutely the worst. We came here after church signed in and was told 20 minutes. After 30 minutes I walked up to see where we were on the list. The hostess couldn't find us. I showed the texted I received from her but we were not on the list. Instead of moving us to the top of the list she told us we would have to wait another 25-30 mins. The food was outstanding and the sausage was the best I have had in a while it has to be made in house and had a kick to it. We got there about 11:30 and they where not busy so we where seated right a way. The restaurant was clean and very well organized the whole staff was very friendly. We were not rushed and sat and talked for about an hour, I took a new beautiful friend who has never been here before and she was impressed with my choice of restaurant. Excellent prepared food and excellent wait staff. Had Huevos Rancheros with chorizo and side of grits. Egg was medium served on fried tortillas with ground chorizo on top with melded cheddar cheese. When I put our name in and they told me an hour and a half wait I was tempted to go elsewhere but wow was the wait worth it. Now I understand why. Their menu is diverse with both a mix of sweet and savory. They also have quite the drink menu including brunch cocktail favorites, that you can order by the glass or pitcher.
