I ordered the 3 Pepper (not the correct name but it does have Pepper Vodka in it) and my wife ordered the Tito's. Both were delicious but the Pepper one is HOT. I'm eating my hat as I write this review, because being a locavore and brunch snob, I very nearly missed out on a delicious dining experience. The situation: family New Years Day Brunch The problem: all our usual local brunch places were closed The solution: Another Broken Egg Café, being a chain, was open and eager to have us, as there were only a few other parties in the restaurant when we arrived. Then I was blown away - our server was cheerful and attentive, and immediately recognized our need for coffee (served in whimsical stoneware mugs) and hot beignets topped with powdered sugar and accompanied by a tangy-sweet honey marmalade. We ordered a variety of dishes, ranging from sweeties such as Peach Cobbler Pancakes and Bananas Foster French Toast, to savories like Black Bean and Smoked Salmon Benedict. Even the Steel Cut Oats topped with warm berries and cinnamon were tastier than I anticipated. I am properly chagrined that I nearly missed out on such a unique brunch experience. Let this be a lesson to me - chains are chains for a reason. Don't be so blinded by love for local that you miss out on a good one. read more

The food was not as good as prior times visited. The potatoes were over cooked and almost burnt. The chicken was flavorless on the sandwich the cocktail was watered down and the Belgian waffle was dry and was literally split as if there was a top and bottom half. It also looked as if a half eaten sausage was placed on my plate along with the regular order of sausage. The service was decent however food seemed rushed. The table and seats were dirty which had to be wiped off with sanitizer before we would actually sit down. Not as good as it used be by far. read more

Well, my husband and I really wanted some brunch so we decided to give this location a try. Now, we have tried the other locations in the area and have never had issues. I think this location may have been having an off day as they informed us they were training new cooks. My husband ordered the Goat Cheese and Lemon pancakes while I ordered the Crispy Chicken sandwich. Starting with the pancakes, they were overly done on the outside and not completely done on the inside all while having a very floury/doughy taste. Not very appetizing. My chicken sandwich appeared to look yummy the second time it was brought out. The first time it was sent back because I asked for sauce to be on the side however they actually put extra on the sandwich. BUT, the second time my sandwich came out here was a long black hair on the food. After these issues, we decided not to eat at the establishment. The manager, Wendy, was very nice and understanding about the situation. I don't know if I would go back to this location unfortunately. read more

Fantastic place for brunch any day of the week. We split an order of cinnamon roll French toast. It comes with eggs and sausage but ordered a side of bacon. It was PLENTY for both of us and the food was outstanding. It was busy, but our server was attentive and was working hard to make sure her tables got what they needed. I been a regular past 7 years , The staff had held steady up until the pandemic and I believe the had some corporate changes that also had affected I have notice since the pandemic definitely some supplier issues the Grits use to be be top-tier not the same a lot of the food is not the same as I can tell The supplier the quality has changed since the pandemic I had it last week and I was so excited for it just to be so disappointing even the pancakes are different Miss Wendy was the GM there she had been there since the beginning just very different at this location I hope they're able to get back to their regular supplier so the food can be just as yummy and tasty as before! This used to be our favorite breakfast eatery. We dined at this location July 13, 21 about 10-10.30 am. We both ordered the traditional (eggs, bacon, potatoes; and toast, english muffin or biscuit). My eggs were cold and dry but I ate them. The bacon was scrappy and beyond crisp. The potatoes and my biscuit were COLD, hard and obviously had been sitting around in the kitchen awhile. Nothing was up to past standards for this eatery. I flagged down the server and asked for fresh potatoes and biscuit for both of us. We were so very disappointed with our meals. The server was good and helpful. No apology but none needed as generally speaking it isn't the fault of the server but the poor management by the kitchen and the floor manager. This was my first visit and once was enough. We were seated promptly and our waitress was attentive. The interior is nice with some intimate and offset areas for dining that allows you to have a conversation with your table mate. The colors are bright and there are tvs on the walls with jazzy music playing in the background. Their coffee is standard, not the type I enjoy with brunch. The water tasted like a pool, it was so heavily chlorinated. This probably explains the off coffee flavor as well. There was a heavy amount of build up on the juice glasses, I ran my finger along the inside to make sure. Compared with First Watch I was disappointed in the menu choices. Everything has chorizo or bacon and build your own is very pricey (and not offered on the menu as individual sides aren't either so you could build your own with 2 eggs your way for example) and substitutes are permitted but there's nothing like avocado toast or a veggie omelet (unless you're willing to have Brie, cream cheese and a third cheese on top). Potatoes appear to be from a frozen bag, not quality or fresh. I was surprised that the menu on Yelp says they have vegetarian entries because I found one on the menu and it was laden with the saturated fats that many vegetarians avoid. I'm not vegetarian but like to eat healthy. When I asked for no bread on my plate, instead of offering tomato slices like most restaurants, they just left it off. This is okay but another example of not going above average to earn my future business. Probably an okay place for the average consumer but not for someone with more discriminating tastes. read more

While I was eating at the counter yesterday (as I often do) a guy came in with Uber eats order to get refund because the customer rejected the order. He had the bag of food and a receipt. The manager insisted he needed a second receipt as well, but the customer said that was the only receipt he was given. The manager got very demeaning and yelling at the customer, thus it all escalated quickly with guy going to car and coming back threatening to go "full gangsta". He was storming back to kitchen and everything. After people started calling police and several people left in fear, I asked him how much his bill was. I gave him the $25 and got him to leave while the manager hid in the kitchen. NOBODY should have to feel threatened in a place that sells fried eggs. That manager needs to learn that his desire to have a confrontation got him into a situation that was far beyond his ability to control, and jeopardized the brand and the safety of his customers and employees. This is probably one of the best brunch locations we have ever visited. Some interesting items on the menu. The ambiance is moderately loud and bustling with customers. The menu had a large assortment of traditional entrees to the unique rare lobster and Brie omelette to crab cake Benedict with green tomatoes. We even ordered a mimosa and it was pretty refreshing. We also ordered Supreme omelette with spinach added to the omelette. Super fresh and full of flavors. We ordered traditional pancake breakfast which delicious and filling with the right flavors. The entrees all arrived hot and fresh right from the kitchen. The service staff were super professional and friendly. They spare no wait period for refills on cups of coffee. A quick tip to avoid a long wait is to be put on the waitlist through yelp. We only had to wait 30 minutes vs perhaps an hour. I highly recommend this place for brunch with friend and family. My neighbor & I decided to give this place a try. We waited about 30 minutes for a table. Once seated, our friendly server took our order quickly. I had the Southwest scrambler which is scrambled eggs served with flour tortillas & filled with chorizo, onions, tomatoes, green chilies, cheddar jack with a side of guacamole & a side of salsa with a side of fresh country potatoes. I ordered a glass of water. My neighbor ordered coffee, biscuits & gravy which consists of house recipe country sausage gravy over an over-sized biscuit, 2 eggs, 2 house-made sausage patties with a side of fresh country potatoes. I enjoyed my scrambled eggs in the tortillas & the guacamole was fantastic. I didn't like the country potato cubes at all. My neighbor didn't like them either. They tasted frozen & not fresh. My neighbor loved the biscuit & sausage...said it was the best he ever had. He didn't like the coffee at all saying it tasted bitter. My water tasted like a chlorinated swimming pool so perhaps that same water is making the coffee taste bitter. We would like to eat here again to try something different on the menu. read more

I have always gotten good service and food here. Not today. I ordered City grit's and received potatoes. The server said I thought that was incorrect. She gave me a difficult time over my order of Ciry grits like I was stupid! I ended up getting the same grits with tomatoes and bacon on top of the grits! I am from Louisiana and unless I am mistaken, this franchise originated out of Louisiana of which there are many of these restaurants and they are all excellent. Since I am up in the area visiting some family we looked at breakfast restaurants close by and for me and my family, coming here was a no brainer. The service here was excellent as was the food. One of my favorites is the Broken Egg Biscuit Sandwich and I get extra gravy so that I can smother that biscuit and have plenty of gravy for every bite. YUM! I was with a party of 6 and everyone had nothing but great things to say about the food and service so it would be foolish for me to award anything but a solid 5 stars. One downside is that this place can get really busy so use the Yelp waitlist and save yourself some time. The only other wish is that this chain would bring back the Steak and eggs! Enjoy! read more

I was in Dayton for work and had a Bday reward for free pancakes, so I stopped in for a late breakfast. I checked no-wait ahead on Yelp, but there were tables available, so upon arrival I was seated immediately. My waitress was prompt and helpful. I got the standard pancakes (included in deal) which were Yummy and came with a cute strawberry face. I got the City Grits for a side which include gouda, bacon, tomato, and scallions. Best Grits I have ever had. I was hoping for some sort of fun juice or smoothie, but other than standard OJ, their fun drinks all had alcohol. This place is alright. I tried two dishes here, the traditional breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs and Mediterranean potatoes and the huevos rancheros. A lot of what came with the traditional breakfast was burnt from the English muffins to the breakfast sausages. They make their own sausages and they were tiny!! You got two and they were the size of a silver dollar pancake. And they weren't very tasty. I wouldn't recommend getting the sausage. Also, the Mediterranean potatoes weren't too great. A lot of the potato wedges were burnt, but you can tell they've been sitting out, because they were also super soggy. And it came with black burnt looking pieces. I wasn't sure if they were burnt onions or what. The only good thing about this meal were the scrambled eggs. The huevos rancheros was better, but it's not your typical authentic huevos rancheros. It didn't even come with corn tortillas or refried beans. It instead came with a flaky deep fried flour tortilla which reminded me of phyllo dough and black beans. The potatoes it came with was also pretty bland. There was no seasoning on it whatsoever. The potatoes we had the other week at the hotel buffet was even better than this place. But the dish overall was fine I guess. It would have been great if they served this with avocado but now I'm just being picky. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to dine at Another Broken Egg, but I wouldn't be opposed to going back to it. read more

We eat here practically every weekend. They're always very busy but have a couple ways you can get in line before arriving to the restaurant which is convenient. The food is always wonderful, we've probably tried everything on the menu at this point. The different mimosa flavors are wonderful and while I'm not a big fan of Bloody Marys, my boyfriend is obsessed with them here. The service has always been great. Another Broken Egg is good and usually always is. I first tried Another Broken Egg in my hometown of Huntsville, AL. When we realized we had one here in our area in OH, we definitely had to go. This location is set up very similar to the one in HSV. This particular day we got there right at 2 pm which is when they close on Sundays but they were so nice and still let us come in. She even brought our girls some yogurt just because. Now, I will say Another Broken Egg is expensive. For 2 OJs, 2 meals and 1 half order of French Toast, it came to a total of $52 including tax and tip. I ordered the Southwest Scrambler and my husband ordered the Hey Lucy! Omelette. Both dishes were basically the same except one was scrambled eggs and the other was an omelette. The Southwest Scrambler consist of scrambled eggs filled with breakfast chorizo, onions, tomatoes and green chilies, topped with Cheddar Jack cheese. Sides of guacamole and salsa. Served with flour tortillas instead of English muffin. It was really good and filling without being too filling. I did not eat it all. I enjoyed the taste and the dish as a whole. It was exactly what the name mentions, packed with southwest flavor. I picked the City Grits as my side. The City Grits are amazing! They are thick and creamy Gouda grits topped with bacon, tomatoes and green onions. The Hey Lucy! Omelette consist of Chorizo, onions and green chilies omelette, topped with Cheddar Jack cheese and avocado. Sides of salsa and sour cream. My husband loves this dish and orders it at any Broken Egg we are at. The scrambler is not normally my norm but I wanted to try something different today. We also ordered a half order of French Toast. It was good. It wasn't anything special but it met our sweet fix and wanting a sweet breakfast bread fix. Overall, Another Broken Egg is good and is a good brunch spot. It is expensive but has some good dishes! read more

We love this place, the food is good and it's always hopping during breakfast hours so use the waitlist option. But what makes this place fantastic is the people and service.
